A word from Acorn
Located within the Source, a reclaimed 1880’s refinery turned new epicurean marketplace in Denver’s River North District, Acorn boasts Chef/Owner Steven Redzikowski’s eclectic, contemporary American cooking in an approachable, family-friendly format, alongside Beverage Director/Owner Bryan Dayton’s ingredient-driven cocktails, and handpicked selection of artisan wines and beers.

Similar to its critically acclaimed sister restaurant in Boulder, OAK at fourteenth, Acorn’s culinary and inspirational foundation is its oak-fired oven and grill, which produce a seasonal, ever-changing menu of craveable, family-style small plates and entrées. Guests will also find a selection of favorite dishes from the menus at OAK.

Steven, Bryan and their team at Acorn are proud to be serving Denver, and look forward to welcoming you.

Waited 45 minutes past my res which I had made 5 weeks in advance. Brought over some "oh I'm sorry for the inconvenience" shots for the table which were sugar loaded nonsense and a bit insulting for a table of 50 plus year old foodies. Food was okay .. Some very good dishes but overall a bit over complicated and trying too hard to marry too many elements. Shawarma was wet and had way too many ingredients. Kale salad was excellent. Meatballs with Buratta was very nice but redundant. My fav was the chicarrones with ham and beautiful tomatoes tepenade of sorts. Mussels were good but dry. Shrimp and grits were marginal. Ahi was bland. Overall I prefer sister restaurant Oak in Fourteeth

The service was outstanding and we ordered four of the small plates for each of us to share as recommended by our server, Nathan. It was a perfect amount of food for two people. The lamb and the gnocchi were fantastic! I wish the wine list had more by-the-glass options, as my lady prefers white and I generally drink red. We ended up with a nice bottle of white and I got a glass of red (their only red glass option) that I didn't quite love. We finished off with the peaches and creme and a nice moscato, super awesome!

My daughter and I had dinner there the other night and the food was fabulous. I especially loved the squid ink pasta with seafood and the shrimp and grits. Yum!! The brioche dessert with buttermilk ice cream, goat cheese and berries was also to die for. Wish I lived in Denver!

Smaller plates, but great for sharing! A little on the pricy side (but then again, I'm used to Sputnik and City O City), so more of a special-occasion place to me. Cool location in The Source with other places to try within just a few footsteps.

I had high expectations (many friends have eaten at the Acorn and have said great things) but overall I found the experience to be average with a few high points (meatballs, kale salad, bruschetta) but many low points (service was polite but not enthusiastic, our seating was late despite being there early, meatballs were delicious but small with an abundance of polenta, kitchen ran out of pork leaving minimal options for protein plates, risotto had strong cheese flavor and was heavy). I requested to order a small plate when seated (we were hungry, after waiting) but our server told us he prefers we wait to order everything at once. I'll give this restaurant another try but wasn't wowed enough to run back.

First of all we sat outside on a perfect Denver evening. We ordered 7 or 8 dishes and each one that arrived was a little masterpiece! Mussels - awesome, bruschetta fresh and perfect combination of textures. Even dessert was a perfect mix of peaches, buttery crumbles and creamy panna cotta. Absolutely wonderful. We will for sure be back.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner planned and since Alorn doesn't do special order desserts, we had a scrumptious pie (b'day request) we wanted to bring in and I've heard if a corking fee but they wanted to charge a $5 "cutting fee" PER PERSON! I could have kept my plate and used the knife I had. Slicing and dicing pricing.

Food wa s delicious and served in a timely manner. Service was attentive yet non intrusive. When the waiter noticed that I hadn't drunk my ice tea, he insisted that they comp it since I didn't enjoy the taste. I would've never asked for that; it wasn't bad tea , just not to my taste. Both lunches were great. Lively lunch crowd of mostly workers from Downton and LoDo. My only complaint was the intrusiveness of the music and as usual lately, the loudness of the room inside. Can't find a place to dine with friends and still be able to talk to them without screaming at the top of one's lungs! Patio much quieter but again, speakers placed right next to the first table.. Maybe some chairs on the patio? The stools are cool but not comfy.

I had a casual business dinner here and it was very good. We liked the small plates so that we could try several of the many choices that all sounded so interesting. We had a kale and apple salad, which was wonderful, the octopus pasta, fabulous flavors, the gnocchi, ravioli, shrimp and grits, and salmon. Everything was very fresh and so good. I do not live in Denver, but I will definitely come here again when I am in town.

Not sure what "eclectic" food is, we thought we'd try Acorn based on the positive reviews. Our table of four had plenty of food - some items have serving sizes for 2-3, a few others for 3-4. We had two types of salads (kale with candies almonds - great, and a beet mixture salad that was a nice pairing). Next a meatball small plate, and a ravioli plate - also good. For the main course we chose a braised pork dish that was flavorful and moist. Dessert - fudge. Will definitely go back to Acorn.

The food experience on our visit was outstanding. Our waiter was less than helpful. We were just a table of two, and were treated by our waiter as if we were wasting his time. It appeared to be a problem that I had a lot of questions about the drinks. He did tend to a table of six next to us and had no problem answering the same questions I had. Overall-the food and our dinner was great. Experience would have been over the top if our waiter would have treated us like he wanted us there.

We scored a table upstairs and actually caught the sunset over the mountains from our table (sort of through the trees and billboards, but still, it was pretty). The wait staff were all friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being annoying and even comped one of the dishes because it took a while to come out. Tapas style menu and an amazing cocktail menu but we found the wine list lacking. Although, I thought each dish we ordered was artfully prepared and delicious, the standout dishes for me were the Tomato braised Meatballs and the Peking Paradise Duck Breast. We ordered the Oak grilled bone marrow, which was a bit blah, so wouldn't recommend it. We finished off with the Chocolate Almond Fudge, which totally hit the spot!

I really enjoyed my meal here. One thing I didn't like is they serve shared plates but request you order everything upfront. This threw off the timing of our service. My friend and I eat tapas style regularly. The thing we love about it is ordering until we don't wish to eat anymore. Ordering upfront makes this difficult to gauge. Luckily, our server was able to cancel one of our orders last minute because we were already full. Other than that, the service was ok. Our waitress was very attentive at first, but then kind of disappeared. I will return just for the pâté, which was amazing!

We enjoyed our visit because we could share unique food and celebrate my 34 year old son's birthday at the same time. The small plates worked well so we could try different foods. I liked risotto , ravioli with carrot filling. My son and husband liked the duck. We all liked salad with great mixed flavors. We had seven different dishes and we liked them all. Acorn made the birthday celebration special for my son and his wife and his parents by bringing a complimentary yummy desert, chocolate fudge. My son and his wife live close to this restaurant and said it lived up to their expectations and its popular reputation. We all would return here.

It is a unique pleasure here in Denver to find such high quality food served with such consistency. The menu offers a wide variety of palate pleasers without being burdensome or overreaching. The staff seems to have brought back to life the often overlooked skill in the hospitality industry of actually remembering your name from the first visit and any particular food or beverage favorites that you may have. In addition the wait staff is attentive without crossing the line and inserting themselves into your dining experience or being intrusive. Since my first visit to Acorn I have been back with business clients as well as intimate friends and Acorn will continue to be my favorite place to dine in Denver. Bravo Acorn!

The black ink tagliarini was fantastic and the service was very attentive. We switched tables and the transfer was well done with several of the staff pitching in. My only knock is the wine by the glass list - limited choice and disappointing choices at that - was looking for something more to complement the delicious items coming out of the kitchen.

Great ambience in Rino - converted brick building with lots of charm. We split 7 dishes and had plenty of variety. Buon Cibo and Buon Vino (Good Food & Good Wine). The food and service is outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Acorn. The single drawback was the glaring sun - hot on our bodies and shining in our eyes! The staff tried moving a large umbrella. It shielded some of the sun; but, not totally. I might suggest tinting the "garage door" windows or installing a shade.

I truly enjoyed Acorn - great food, fantastic service in a really cool space. I love what they did with Source marketplace, and I've been to Comida and the other bar in there a couple of times, but this was my first time dining at Acorn. I thought the lamb schwarma and the fish were especially tasty, and I loved the sweet corn risotto though it wasn't quite as special. But what I thought was the best was their selection of non-alcoholic drinks - how fun to go out, not drink, but still have a number of tasty, refreshing options that weren't water or soda. A great idea that other restaurants should take up as well. I will definitely be returning to Acorn and would absolutely recommend to those who haven't been yet.

Love this place. First, the food and service were outstanding. We had a number of small plates to share and everything was simply delicious - kale salad, squash, lamb, meatballs in grits, etc. Note, the sharing plates are larger than expected. We were advised to aorder 2-3 per person, but that was too much food for us (3 40+ women). If you have a large appetite it will be OK. The place is also "happening" and lively. You'd never know its in an industrial part of town. Go here. You won't regret it.
