I lOVE dining at ACME. To begin the cocktails are some of the best in the city. The bar can be a little loud and the service nowhere near as exceptional as the restaurant but that's what one can expect from the latest hot spot, no? The food is refreshingly good - interesting flavours, good produce, hearty offering - and the wine list excellent. Beets and Cherries, Country Toast and Chicken and Eggs are all favourites, that sound deceptively simple, but are in fact delicately balanced while still maintaing a rustic Noridc slant. I LOVE ACME!

The food was very original and we enjoyed it. The service was a bit too high brow. This is certainly a very trendy spot and also very loud.

The food is great. Unfortunately the stress level created by the noise makes it impossible to enjoy. We'd have loved to try the dessert menu, but it was so painful on the ears we just had to get out of there the moment we finished our entrees.

Dramatic makeover of the original Acme. The pairings of ingredients are creative but not too "out there". Portions are reasonably sized, recommended to share for the sake of variety. I loved the grilled beet/fresh cherries/horseradish dish. Also heirloom tomato/pickled watermelon.

This was my 2nd dinner. And altho the dessert was delicious, the rest of the meal was nothing special. Our 1st visit the pea soup was great- this time-ho hum. The raw mackerel -was awful. and since our waitress seemed to have such an attitude, we decided not to bother complaining to her. It only would have had her get snootier. Too bad-I really thought this was a keeper.

make sure you try the barley and clams, the toast, the arctic char, any of their special vegetables of the day and the chocolate crisp. do not order the ribeye without asking if it is fatty. when it is a good cut of meat, it is excellent but more than half the time it is just fatty and gristly. fortunately, they always take it back when it is.

While we love Acme for dinner (it's a hot scene and the food is quite good), we went for brunch this past Saturday and it took forever (the manager comped a glass of wine -- so thanks for that). My salad with chicken was delicious, but my wife's Danish omelette left a bit to be desired.

We love the relax atmosphere at that time, saturday at 1:00 pm. Food was super disappointing. There were 5 of us and we ordered a variety of items to try and share. Not one of us will return or recommend, as the food was barely palatable. The beet with cherries sounded wonderful, but it was tasteless and warm. The beet should have been chilled and with a little to offset the sweetness. The sashimi fish with greens was also warm when it should have been cold. Did not give a feeling of freshness. The fish entree was overcooked. It really was fair on food. Surprising since NYMagazine gave it 2 stars and it's Critics' Pick.

I was very excited to find a 6:30 opening on Open Table for this hot restaurant with the new creative Danish style cooking. On arriving there were about 3 tablees full. By the time we left at 9 or 9:15 there were still many empty tables. Why does a restaurant do that? We would have much preferred a slightly later reservation. As to the food, it was hit or miss. The pearl barley and clams dish is a winner as was the morels stuffed with pork and draped with lardo. The spring pea soup needed seasoning. and the chef seems to overuse vinegar in many dishes. Our waiter was annoying and reluctant to adequately describe dishes and insistant that we would not like to have three samll plates without ordering a main course. We ordered his "a

We were a party of four. We ordered about 9 small plates and each had 2 drinks. All of the food was fine. Nothing was remarkable except the oyster mayo that accompanied the fries. We passed on entrees and dessert. We were all still hungry so we went to L'asso for a couple of delicious pies. We left Acme hungry and unimpressed. We spent $300 (including tax and tip) for the experience.

Dishes are quite creative and tasty. Great balance between chef's nordic background and NY-comfortable way. BUT, when we arrived there, we were strongly recommended to take counter seats, not table. It was quite unpleasant cause we have already made reservation for table through this OPEN TABLE. Finally, we got table but I was not happy about that service.

For starters, I had the Sweet Shrimp & Bison bitter lettuce, white pickled walnuts - it was just the right mix of flavours. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The Black Cod smoked bone marrow with blackened radishes was great as a main. But what I absolutely loved was dessert: Chocolate Crisps ganache, coffee ice cream. We went to ACME for our 3-year anniversary, and it was a perfect night out. The food was complex, yet somehow familiar and comforting, and the atmosphere was enjoyable and dynamic, if a little noisy. Price was right for a special occasion on our budget. The only complaint would be table spacing--though they were perfectly lovely, our neighbors basically joined us in a communal experience, which I think neither party had planned on. But small nuisance--otherwise, a perfectly wonderful evening!

Acme is very in right now. The food is delicious and imaginative. To be honest it is soulless. If I am going to spend a significant amount of money I want some personality. From the minute you walk in to Acme there is nothing going on. Just like a blind date with a nice guy with no personality. The sommelier, who looks like a younger Rocco DiSpirito, needs to have the broom removed as does the host. Come on, Acme hire people who can add to the experience as you've got the food right!
