Acitron Cocina MexicanaGood Mexican cuisine, so-so serviceAcitron Cochina features a number of items not usually found in typical Mexican restaurants. It does some brilliantly, while others are very good. Most entrees are spicy, and on our most recent visit, server could not tell us which were spicier than others. Excellent salsa and chips, but basket too small for four, and request for more ignored. Better service would earn Acitron Cochina more stars in several categories. Having credit card machine down was inconvenient at best, even if staff was quick to direct us to nearest ATM. They said it had just happened, but other diners came in prepared with cash saying they knew machine was down. We will go back, but with lower expectations for the experience than we had on this return visit.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place! Warm service,I love this place! Warm service, delicious food and great prices!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMHits the spotReally enjoyed Acitron both times I went.
Ceviche good and plentiful.
I do not recommend the Skinny Margarita made with Agave.
Nice ambience. Very nice staff. Good food and good vibes.
Fair prices.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mexican cuisineMoving from the Southwest to New England has been wonderful in almost all respects but I am missing the regional food I've grown accustomed to. This is true upscale Mexico City style dining featuring regional Mexican dishes..Chiles en Nogado from Puebla, Yucatanean Cochinita Pibil and Oaxacan chocolate in many if the desserts. It's not the New Mexican I really crave but the flavors are familiar and the great service and attentive staff who are very knowledgeable about the menu make this a favorite to come back to.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our food and drinksWe enjoyed our food and drinks and the staff was great. We went on Mothers Day and there was a musician with a guitar who played some fun and romantic spanish music. Overall we had an enjoyable experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunchTook my mom and my wife there for mother's day brunch. First time I'd been there. The menu was full of great choices. The food was great. Very affordable. Mom's loved it!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for brunchWe had a delicious Mexican brunch for Mother's Day. Acitron is a lovely restaurant, with friendly and attentive waitstaff, good food (including the requisite chocolate chip pancakes for kids), nice ambience. We'd been there before for dinner, found it to be a bit overpriced; not so for brunch. Will go back for same.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food. Great Staff.I took my mother and Abuelita (grandmother) here for brunch on Mother's day and it was great! They both still talk about how delicious the food was and how great of a time they had. We are planning on going back for dinner since we heard the dinner food is great as well. I would make sure to make reservations since its a small dining area and it fills up quickly!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful version of Mexican food!Admittedly, I am not very familiar with authentic Mexican cuisine, but to me this would be one of my highest standards for the "real deal"! The chef obviously takes his duties very seriously and does not underestimate his clients. We loved the nuances in the mole sauce and enchiladas and my girls loved the chile verde and soft tacos! We will return!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food great serviceThe was real authentic mexican would definitely go back5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good-their salmonFood was very good-their salmon and steak dishes are excellent. I don't like food very spicy, and they were very helpful in guiding me to dishes I would like. Food is nicely presented. It was bit noisy, but it was a Saturday night.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Mexican. Fish tacosFantastic Mexican. Fish tacos were delicious. Waitress couldn't have been nicer and margaritas were great!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat margaritas and warmGreat margaritas and warm atmosphere, with delicious chips, salsa, and guacamole. Entrees offer the cuisine of northern Mexico and more traditional fare.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed Acitron; I thinkWe enjoyed Acitron; I think my husband liked it more than I did. I found the carne asada to be a little on the bland side. The guacamole appetizer we had was delicious; the salsa that came with the chips they handed us shortly after we sat down was spicier than my taste, but I freely admit that I am not a huge fan of spicy. We both enjoyed the sangria very much. We tried the Mexican bread pudding for dessert, and other than being served a teensy bit hotter than seemed necessary, it was really delightful. Full of interesting flavors I couldn't quite place (maybe clove?), but very very good, and unusual. The service was maybe a little on the slow side, but attentive, and we weren't in a rush. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMTwas a pleasant surprise!Twas a pleasant surprise! They had some rather unusual dishes to choose from, not your average Mexican restaurant for sure.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were pleasantly surprisedWe were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. We were expecting the usual Mexican fare (IE - tacos and enchiladas-ho hum) but instead found the entree and app. selection to be creative and more upscale than typical. We went on a Saturday night and thankfully made reservations because the place was packed. We did have to wait a bit to be seated - we had a reservation for 7 and weren't seated till 7:20 ish and there really wasn't anywhere to wait so were stood in the entry way. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall it was a good experience and we will go baCK.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat Mexican foodVery good authentic Mexican food. Our dinners were flavorful but not spicy.
Recommend it!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came to celebrate our son'sWe came to celebrate our son's birthday and another son's great finish in the Boston Marathon. The food was delish, FLAVOR, was my main impression. This is not taco bell or chipotle, it is real mexican food! Great margarita's,and an amazing tequila list. They even helped us sing Happy Birthday!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mexican food (not Tex-Mex)Great Mexican food (not Tex-Mex) with great mole.,4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat margaritas, great guacamole,Great margaritas, great guacamole, creative meals. The tables are a little packed in there, so not all that great for an intimate dinner, but great for an evening out with friends!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA noteworthy new Mexican,A noteworthy new Mexican, with some out-of-the ordinary dishes.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great. Our serverThe food was great. Our server was friendly, smart, and helpful. They need some blinds for the windows, the sun was blinding. The tables are a little close.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSophisticated Mexican in ArlingtonThis was my first visit to Acitron, which features sophisticated Mexican cuisine.Really enjoyed the guacamole app and the shrimp taco special. The waiter brought out a sample of the taco sauce so we could taste it before ordering. Friends liked the margaritas, which were fairly strong (wide selection here). Dulce de Leche ice cream was a great end to the meal.As we ate early on a Sunday night it was hard to judge noise levels. A welcome addition to Arlington Center. I would go back!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
