AceroVey enjoyable evening! We enjoyed a deliciously prepared meal that was served flawlessly. Our server was efficient and ever-present without being overbearing.
We will definitely return!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent FoodFood was understanding, service slow, wine list not so good.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways amazesWe have been coming to Acero since it opened. We are never disappointed. The food is some of the best in town. Beautifully presented and such fresh and interesting ingredients.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Noco Frito, and RavioloThe Noco Frito, and Raviolo are truly original. My wife and I always order the Crudo, and it has always been fresh, clean and crisp tasting. The Tasting Menu is a great way to try different things and share around the table.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA fun restaurant with lotsA fun restaurant with lots of good choices on the menu. The chef is obviously talented and takes time to plate the dishes properly. Nice concept of 'make your own 3 or 4 course meal'. Wine offerings are a bit pricey and can make your final bill a surprise. Overall I would go back and try it again. We chose the 'grand tasting for 2 and $150 is alot to spend BEFORE a bottle of wine. Too bad they don't have a 'Chef's table' for that price.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMoverall positive, with minor glitchTried Acero for first time, overall loved it. Am very familiar with their sister restaurant The Crossing which is phenomenal. Acero is a bit more casual but had tasty, interesting fare. The egg raviolo, the signature dish, arrived room temperature and was a disapointment, but every other dish was amazing---the tile fish special, the asparagus and mozzarella salad and affogato dessert were first rate. The tasting menu--4 courses for $30 is a steal! Will definately return.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOptional Tasting Menu, everythingOptional Tasting Menu, everything excellent! Service, Food, Wine. Going back!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the Chef prepared sevenWe had the Chef prepared seven course dinner. Everything was great.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMy fav STL restaurantI LOVE ACERO! I had been to Acero once before, and I returned when my family came to visit. The restaurant has a 4 course tasting menu that starts at $30, and there is also an a la cart menu as well. My family ordered from the a la cart menu.
The egg raviolo was absolutely incredible. Rich and creamy cheese mixture topped with an egg yolk. This is hands down my favorite item on the menu.
Gnocco fritto: fried dough/pastry with ham on top. I was not sure what to think of this before I tasted it, but it was savory and light. I recommend this as well.
The service here was fantastic. We never had an empty water glass on the table, and our waiter was attentive and helpful.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent, ate outside.Food was excellent, ate outside. Service was superb.
Highly recommended.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favoritesOne of the best in St. Louis - every dish great. Don't miss the ravioli appetizer.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat fixed price menuLove the fixed price menu four course dinner. Everyone got something different and we all thought our food was fantastic. The server didn't know his wines or beers well enough to describe to the table, but other than that experience and service was great. Would highly recommend.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA nice surpriseWe weren't sure what to expect since we hadn't been there before and just picked because of all the great reviews. We were pleasantly surprised by the ambience and the menu. You could order from one side and get a taste of several things or pay the same amount for an item on the other side of menu for just the main meal. Food was excellent from start to finish.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came to Acero on vacationWe came to Acero on vacation on the advice of the night before's bar tender. She told us to skip The Hill as Acero was STL's best Italian. It is!!!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, we had an excellentAs always, we had an excellent meal at Acero. Every bite is scrumptious.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorites...Great food, and good options for trying a variety of their offerings is available by doing the $30 four course tasting menu. I love the egg raviolo, and the wine list is full of great Italians. The service was quick and attentive, recovering nicely from the somewhat surly hostess who must have been having a rough night. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe drop in to Acero a fewWe drop in to Acero a few times every year and they never disappoint! We look forward to returning for outdoor dining once the weather warms up.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING experience, as alwaysAMAZING experience, as always . . . fabulous food, outgoing and friendly personnel. Acero is definitely one of my favorite restaurants . . . never disapppointing.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy! Both of my dining experiences at Acero have been wonderful. The food is delicious! I have had and highly recommend the Mussels, ‘Meat Donuts,’ Egg Ravioli, Three Cheese Ravioli, Lamb, and Trout. I choose the tasting menu both times and while the base price is reasonable it can get pricey if you stray over to the ala carte menu to pick items like I did. So worth it though. The staff is friendly and attentive with a team spirit. I was looking around for my server and another stopped in her tracks and asked if she could help. After taking the empty dishes to the kitchen from her own table she came back immediately with the fresh pepper I requested. I am proud to say I live in and thanks to Acero I can eat well in Maplewood.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAcero - Delicious!Acero is wonderful. Our group of four all enjoyed the four-course tasting menu, some unusual beers and an exceptional wine. The portions are right sized resulting in a tasting menu that leaves you satisfied, not hungry. There is a wide variety of options on the tasting menu so you can pick and choose what you'd like. You can also substitute items from the regular menu if there is an item you simply must have. Everyone's food was interesting, perfectly prepared and delicious. Our server was excellent, too, she was professional and had a nice way about her. The price of $30 for all four courses was a delightful bonus resulting in a wonderful evening all around. We will be returning to Acero often.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA Beautiful Italian PreparationFirst time going, definitely not last time dining. This modern Italian cuisine is a gourmet experience as well as a treat for the taste buds. The menu is a masterpiece and the food is, well you can't call it food, it's more like beautifully prepared nourishment for your senses. The atmosphere is casual and crisply elegant at the same time. It's nice to have innovative preparations as well as delicious traditional Italian fare. The chef is a talent. Now one of our top 5 dining choices in STL.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, not your usualExcellent food, not your usual Italian restaurant menu. Wine list is limited to only Italian wines. Ambience is a little casual. View through the front windows is of a downtown corner in Maplewood. Four course menu for $30 is a great value.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had not been to Acero inWe had not been to Acero in a few years and that was a mistake! The food was terrific and we had a great time. We can't wait to go back soon.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome restaurant. GreatAwesome restaurant. Great food, the Egg Raviolo was a sensation. We will be back!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal as always. OneGreat meal as always. One of our favorite restaurants. Look forward to returning soon3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAcero never disappoints! MyAcero never disappoints! My favorite special occasion dinner destination by far, and the $30 four course tasting menu is a great deal. Don't miss the egg raviolo, mushroom tagliatelle, or chocolate torte!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Italian-ish in MaplewoodA good local Italian restaurant, but don't expect typical red pastas, more of a twist on Northern Italian dishes. Unique menu items and flavors. Some great, some amiss. Server was very attentive and friendly. Price were moderate. Wines were reasonable. Not like the Hill restaurants, more unusual entres, few pasta. (Which makes it Hard to call this Italian.). A neat spot in Maplewood. Parking can be a real challenge as every party lot screams "YOU WILL BE TOWED". They even say on their door not to part at neighboring lots.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
