A word from Ace Eat Serve
Ace features three unique spaces, housed in the old Storz Garage space at the corner of 17th & Pennsylvania. Like its sister restaurants, Steuben’s and Vesta Dipping Grill, great attention was given to the design of Ace. Repurposed and recycled materials are used throughout the space to create an industrial design and comfortable setting that compliments the history of the building. Ace was a recipient of the 2012 Mayor’s Design Award.

Ace serves Asian inspired dishes conducive to sharing, drinking and hanging out. Voted as Denver’s Best Bartender by 5280 magazine, Randy Layman has created a bar menu featuring house made sodas, fresh juices, Asian beers and a craft cocktail menu.

Ace is a place to eat, drink, play, and hang in another unique and creative destination in Uptown, Denver, Colorado brought to you by the team from Vesta Dipping Grill and Steuben’s.

Diner Reviews
  • "Great service from Chad, he's a gem! Food was great, and portions were just right. We tried a variety of appetizers and then had entrees and dessert."

  • "The food is good, not great - but its a fun place to go with friends to eat and play ping pong. They have a great beer selection and some creative fun cocktails."

  • "I came here for a quick dinner with my husband. Kale salad was awesome but a little salty. Crispy mushroom buns were the best thing we ordered (beef short rib ones were too salty). Watermelon chia basil juice was pretty good. Did not like the pork siu mai at all (skins were thick and doughy). The ramen crusted pork was yummy on the fried sticky rice (couldn't stop eating it) but didn't expect it to be deep fried...parts of the outside same out too hard instead of crispy. Service was awesome."

  • "This has been on our visit list for some time. Small plates were all delicious. Casual spot with open-air option, the ping pong tables make it a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some libations. Would definitely recommend the food, and -- judging by the popularity of the "serve" area of the restaurant, it's a popular bar scene as well."

  • "This was our first time at Ace and we thoroughly enjoyed the food (fried chicken is enough for two people/meals and DELICIOUS!!!!), coffee and ambiance. The option to play ping pong before or after eating makes Ace a great 'first date', getting together with friends or family venue. We will definitely be back!"

  • "The portions are very small for the price. The service was horrible."

  • "Playing ping-pong after dinner was great. Very accommodating to move reservation time around to meet end of dinning. Great for a group."

  • "Went in starved and looking for something substantial - got some mediocre dumplings and a beef pho. Need to rethink the latenight menu would be my recommendation."

  • "We went here with another couple for some great Asian Fusion and ping pong and we were not disappointed. Great food, great atmosphere, and off the hook ping pong this place is just great. I heartily recommend this to all my friends it is a wonderful place"

  • "Nice to be provided ping-pong for free due to the lunch we had at the venue - enjoyed the food and the ping-pong. It was a great place to take the business group for team building exercises."

  • "I personally didn't appreciate the food. Was with a party of 10, and only two of us liked it! Not good, 2 out of 11 It also took a while. If I knew it would take that long,,, we would have played table tennis first. And then after waiting so long for food, we were burnt out and didn't want to play after Oh well It wasn't as if they were busy either."

  • "We took a group of nine (6 adults and 3 children) on Sunday afternoon. They couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. There was a lot of variety to please everyone and the food we ordered was very good!"

  • "We loved the vibe of this restaurant - plenty of space, fun decor, and the food was very good!"

  • "We took our brother here for his birthday celebration. He loves to play ping pong and he loves Asian cuisine. The food was great. The drinks were unique. After a delicious dinner we played ping pong for a hour. This made for a very fun evening. There were a bunch of unruly teenagers hitting balls at each other and not really playing the game. It was a little irritating, but it did not ruin our evening. We ordered a couple last drinks and it took 45 minutes to get them. The staff apologized and did not charge us for our drinks. Overall the staff was great and the food was excellent."

  • "I took my team there for a holiday lunch and ping pong. It was great. Interesting food (and drinks) and big silly fun playing ping pong. Plenty of space for our group and something for everyone on the menu. We'll be back!"

  • "Don't let the ping pong theme deter you from Ace. Even if you're not in the mood to play (which is really fun) - the food is delicious. Favorites are the chicken pot stickers, shishido peppers & brussel sprouts and veggie fried rice. We ordered family style and grazed, making for a lovely evening. Very nice service as well!"

  • "The food and drinks here are always awesome. Service is fast and friendly and the atmosphere is great. I early take advantage of the whole ping-pong half of the restaurant, but if you're into ping-pong AND/OR an awesome bar/restaurant scene you'll be a fan of Ace."

  • "The Bao buns are terrific. Bao buns are small, soft, fresh made buns filled with a handful of menu choices such as braised short ribs or fried chicken along with toppings. Asian version of sliders might be a great analogy for these treats. Very tasty. Service is nice and friendly. Played ping pong after dinner (reservations days in advance for a ping pong table is advisable). What a blast. Good times!"

  • "I always have a great time at Ace. The food is right up my alley, the service is friendly, fun and attentive and the space is amazing. Happy Hours are a great deal, especially if you like dumplings; plus it's a little less crowded than dinnertime if you like things a little more low-key. I will return to Ace!"

  • "Wonderful people serving a broad selection of tasty dishes in a super hip atmosphere. I'm not the type of person to tell a restaurant it's my birthday, but the hostess overheard me tell a friend that we had 2 birthdays in my large dinner party. She apparently spread the word to staff who came by our table to wish us a happy birthday. Our server (sorry I don't know her name) was incredible! Enthusiastically giving us menu suggestions (all of which were amazing) and was super patient and attentive to our large table. After, we were all surprised by 2 complimentary birthday desserts. My night was made so special and I can't wait to go back!"

  • "I live in the neighborhood and planned a dinner for our executive team. The atmosphere, service, cocktails and appetizers were amazing. However, the entrees seemed to lack a little luster... that was a unanimous feeling from the guests at our table. But personally speaking, I'd come again and again to drink, eat dumplings and play ping pong with friends."

  • "Had a Friday night of dinner and ping pong with 3 couples. We all left the kids with a sitter and enjoyed a night out at a fun place. The food was great, the service was friendly and the ping pong was fun."

  • "We went after running the Rock n Roll Marathon to refuel with friends. Service was great, as was the food. Had a hard time finding something simple enough for an 8-year old with high spice sensitivity. Spice was at a perfect heat level for me, though--not too hot, but flavorful."

  • "...this is the place for you! I met a friend for her birthday dinner (not Ping Pong), and I must say I was not thrilled by the food. It sounded great on paper, but in reality, it wasn't terribly enjoyable. I personally didn't enjoy the potstickers or the dumplings. The Tom Kha soup was the best dish we tried. We had a very attentive, handsome and funny waiter. He was the best part of the experience!"

  • "Went for a date night dinner with my boyfriend - the food was decent, not bad but nothing special. Kind of disappointing because it seems like a great spot. Loved the vibe, but not the food some much. Had Shrimp Pad Thai, the shrimp was was overcooked and more like a pad thai omelet. Kind of weird. The Tiger wings were good though, a little salty."

  • "Their signature Brussels Sprout appetizer was amazing but the main fish dish was a disappointment. The main dish was bland and boring to eat. After a couple of bites I was looking to the cocktails to get me through the dish. The ambiance of the restaurant is very good… ACE can be a novel place to bring friends to hangout..."

  • "Good location, good service, quick and easy to eat lunch there. Fried brussel sprouts were delicious. This is the 2nd time I have eaten there - flavor of char siu in bao bun was blah; slaw in bao bun also too mild; I attempted to improve the taste w/ lots of seasame seed condiment; celery salad tasted too strong of vinegar. Rice noodle bowl - too much going on - not enough rice noodles - and not really tasty. Cold ramen dish not tasty enough, disappointing. Perhaps the flavors are satisfactory for the majority of diners there, but since I have experienced authentic Asian cooking, I found the flavors in the dishes I tasted here surprisingly inadequate - except for the fried brussel sprouts - which were truly excellent!"

  • "I discovered Ace a couple of weekend's ago knowing nothing about it. I was thrilled to learn it served Asian food, and even more thrilled at the amazing flavors (shout out for the side order of ong choy greens- yum). I brought 5 friends there this past weekend and the reservation process went smoothly. The only problem was that we had our reservation for 6, ordered our food around 6:20 (our choice) but it didn't arrive until 7:10. We had theatre tickets next door at the Avenue for 7:30 and really rushed to finish our meal and were about 15 mins late for the show. I was a little surprised at the time it took to be served since it seemed we had been one of the first people in. But our waitress was nice and appreciated free parking behind."

  • "This place is a blast. I'm so glad there's a place that caters to the ping pong crowd. :-) not that there is one but the fact that there's an option is what makes Denver great."

  • "Visiting from Orlando and found this great neighborhood spot. Ate there late on a Friday and still had a vibrant scene, excellent food and drinks. Great design for the restaurant--industrial chic. Enjoyed our visit...GLBT friendly. Thanks Ace."

  • "The best part was playing ping pong after dinner!!"

  • "The three dishes that stood out during my last meal at Ace; crispy beef, brussel sprouts and the spicy pork ramen. We didn't have a chance to linger for some ping pong but I'll definitely bring my team back again."

  • "Don't sit by the ping pong tables and you won't be bothered! Great original menu and the flavors used are fantastic."

  • "The crispy bass was excellent, the atmosphere very lively, and they even brought us a free dessert for my birthday!! The only negative was the noise level was very high."
    Dined on 6/10/2013
  • "Hey the place is super fun, great for snacks and cocktails. It is way too expensive for the food thy serve but the outdoor area, the DJ and the ping pong make it just way fun. I would go back for cocktails but would avoid a big party for dinner, just not that good and way too pricey for asian street food ..."

  • "Ace has one of the best, most fun and vibrant atmospheres in the city, with beautiful innovative decor and the lively sounds of the ping pong players in the back. Unfortunately the food was just plain bad. we wanted to love it becasue it was so nice being in the space, but consistently everything we had ( and we ordered two appetizers and three entrees) was either way too salty or completely flavorless. I have never had a curry dish that literally had no flavor, it was as if it had been prepared for someone who could only tolerate the most bland cuisine, and the fish over a bed of kim chee was so extremely over salted it was completely inedible....seriously disappointing"
