For a broad sampling try the Korean Celebration - tasting portions of nine different dishes. The grilled squid appetizer is more than enough to share. The food is outstanding and the mod interior is among the best in the city. We were fortunate enough to be seated next to the kitchen where you can watch the Josper oven and Robata grill in action. It's a terrific show. The house pickles are well worth ordering. We also had the Japanese eggplant and tuna ceviche appetizer specials. Both were memorable. The standout dish was the pork chop with mustard greens and blackberry glaze. If available, you shouldn't pass it up as I'd rank it among the best pork dishes I've ever eaten. For dessert, try the awesome S'mores made with the Josper. All in all, Accent deserves a long life. Vibrant.Since Accent is from the same people who own Sasa in Shaker Square, I was looking forward to a great evening and I was not disappointed. Accent is a striking restaurant, beautifully rendered in stainless, black and red, well, accents. The food leans towards the oriental--Korean BBQ, and a terrific and unusual selection of yakitori that goes way beyond chicken (Do NOT miss the pork belly, brisket or mushroom varieties) but there is also a large selection of steaks, including hanger steak with chimichurri. So yes, the menu is eclectic, but everything we had was excellent, wiuth the exception of some sort of rice ball app that was only so-so. Prices are very fair, it's great for grazing, excellent beer list. Terrific service. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet not too stiff. I love the black and red color scheme. Chairs are very comfortable. They provide a new alternative for Cleveland. The staff was wonderful at explaining food and technique. The were also responsive when we realized that we were running late. The atmosphere was modern and tasteful, the location was right, the food and service were excellent, and the menu had a nice range of choices for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike.
Accent's University Circle/Uptown location was a positive feature of our visit. All of the robata grill dishes are amazing and the fries are excellent as well. The decor is awesome and has a great vibe, the only thing missing is the bustling crowd. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night even though we were there on the early side. It's a new place so hopefully the word just hasn't gotten out yet. We will definitely be back. My steak was perfectly cooked and in terms of the other hanger steaks being offered around town this one I felt was larger in ounces than other places. The flavour of the accompanying Brussels sprout and potatoes and carrots was amazing. Friendly server willing to explain terms and items not common to Americans - well trained staff.
