A word from Acapulco Joe's
At Acapulco Joe's you will find hungry people that are looking for delicious food, all lined up outside the door. But don't let that stop you from getting in line; it's a breeze for us to handle large crowds.
Acapulco Joe's has a menu sure to please anyone, from our popular American and Mexican breakfast menu to our tasty dinners complemented with a full bar.
Half a century ago, Acapulco Joe's founder Joe Rangel brought the flavors of his native country to the United States in an exuberant downtown venue. Just steps away from Monument Circle is a legendary Indianapolis favorite with its own unique style and historic charm. Acapulco Joe's resounds daily to the tune of Kate Smith's "God Bless America" to celebrate Joe Rangel's rags-to-riches journey. Behind the iconic neon sign, revelers dine amid the parquet floors and hanging serapes. On the spacious outdoor patio, murals depicting the Mexican desert reflect like dusty mirrors against views of the city.

I had dinner at here with my daughter and we enjoyed it very much. The food was very good and moderatley priced. A very good value for the money. The portions were large and we both took home leftovers.

Food portions are huge, excellent taste for all 3 entrees we had. Nice, quiet ambience conducive to good family time. Service was so-so, could have been better. Great value for the money. It's been 15 years since I last ate there and it continues to be great food at a very reasonable price. I'd go there in a heartbeat if I was in the mood for great Mexican food again.

I have been going here since the 1970's and they keep the same staff even though changes in ownership. Except for not hearing Joe play Kate Smith sing God Bless America every time I went it is the same.

My wife loves mexican fare so I decided to try someplace new for us downtown. Mistake!!! Service....terribly slow! Food terribly cold, but served on a very hot plate! (The table behind us complained of the very same thing.). Normally when the waitress takes your plates away and there is 3/4 left they ask if there was something wrong. Not at Acapulco Joes! I think they already knew it was bad food from the beginning. Needless to say we won't give it a second chance to disappoint. Steer clear and try something!

This has been the best Mexican food we have ever had in the State of Indiana - and definitely outside of Southern California and Texas, where we almost always get that sense of "freshness" and "mingling of flavors" we got at Alcapulco Joe's. My wife had the "Soft Tacos" (Carne Asada) which she loved, but couldn't eat but two they were so packed full of seasoned beef. I had the Combo plate with a crunchy taco, one soft taco and an enchilada, with rice. All food is excellent. Service was great, and the Jumbo Margerita special that night almost made it a perfect evening for us.

Service was a little slow but not too bad for a large group. Reservation didn't go through but they were quick to accommodate us which was appreciated.

Acapulco Joe's sits on a busy downtown corner just 2 blocks from Monument Circle. The food is great and the atmosphere has a classic, old-time feel. Great, simple, margaritas and a neighborhood favorite for over 25 years! Try it and you will love it. p.s. Great, big, crunchy nachos as an appetizer and the salsa is unique, a tad sweet and a bit hot! Enjoy.

Acapulco Joe's wasn't too bad. The food was great and well priced. The service was okay. The servers seemed quite confused that I had a reservation (not knowing that clearly you never need one to be seated there)and responded strangely to it. It also took a very long time to get our check. Once again though, tremendous food!

Was just OK. Wasn't bad, wasn't something to rave about either. Felt it was an average meal. Our server was very attentive and nice. Devour deal was great, including a jumbo margarita. The queso was more of a jalapeno dip than a queso, just was a bit unexpected. Large portion sizes.

It took 35 minutes for an appetizer, after asking 3 times, and then another 1/2 hour for food. Remind you that when we sat down and she took our drink order we ordered everything b/c it was for Devour Downtown. After 15 minutes of waiting for a box and check I finally went up to our waitress and gave her card at checkout station. 1 hr 35 minutes for average mexican food at best was not worth the 30 minutes in gas I spent getting downtown. Needless to say we will not be frequenting this place again.
