The best dining experience I've enjoyed in months. Entertaining out-of-town friends, went here on a recommendation. Not only was it a great culinary experience, it was fun! The very attentive staff were also very personable (not common in my experience). I will certainly come back whenever I want to have a night to remember with special friends!

My daughter and I booked this dinner after a visit to the World Trade Center museum. It was walking distance from there. When we stepped in the door we were kindly greeted by the owner and a large staff of servers. Our table was cozy and we received a lot of attention. The menu specials were what we chose only to be surprised that the pasta would be prepared right in the dining room! It was pure entertainment to watch. There were no details lost in the preparation and the end result was fit for a foodie. I ordered wine by the glass but there was an extensive wine list too. We loved the large chunk of parmesan the server had cut huge chunks for all the diners. After dinner, they came around with grape infused liquor that was a nice ending!

From the minute we walked in, the experience was exquisite. The team executes flawlessly from the hostess stand to the table to the kitchen. They are in command and you are their friends and guests and they wanr you to leave happy. And you do. Antipasti at the bar to nibble on; delicious zucchini fritti at the table that must be shared and you still haven't seen a menu. Then your captain offers the evening's specials. I truly feel that Acapella's menu must be a legacy. There is no need for a menu once the specials are covered. Shared the shrimp agniolotti with lobster sauce entree as an app. She had the branzino and I the veal medallions. The flavors, the textures, the smells...what an experience! Tiramusu for dessert. Exquisite. Go!

Maybe it was the "authentic" Italian approach, but all aspects of service from being greeted, through to ordering, through to being served food was brusque and with attitude. It seemed as if they didn't really want us there. Being served an appetizer when still drinking cocktails is a pet peeve of mine, but they did this. Rattling off a list of 10+ specials so fast you can't even understand them let alone remember them wasn't helpful. The objective seemed to be to get us out as fast as possible. Food was very good though - pity about the service.

Accapella combines, excellent food, a romantic and upscale ( but not pretentious) atmosphere with entertaining service. From the flambees to Dino, the Maître D, the restaurant is a stage that ties it all together. Our favorite stop whenever in New York. Thanks, Dino for another memorable evening.

Was at this restaurant for a romantic dinner. Our server Frankie was very entertaining, attentive and recommended items off the menu. Was expecting to pay about $500.00 for dinner, however, we had 4 courses, a starter drink, bottle of wine and an after dinner drink with tip UNDER $300.00. Well done! Would return in a new York minute! Have also recommended this location to friends and family who will be visiting NYC.

We had a family dinner here--9 people including an 8 year-old child. The staff was charming--friendly and attentive, but not overly so: just right. I can't comment on the standard menu items, because the night's specials were so plentiful and appealing that nobody even opened their menus. The food was excellent all around--not a single quibble from a family that loves to complain! I left wine selection to the family expert, who found something satisfactory immediately--and it was excellent. The room is high-ceilinged with large windows onto Bogardus Triangle, and tapestry- and art-covered walls. The tables are--for NYC--generously-spaced. Highly recommended!

This place is always such a treat. Everyone that works there is Italian, from the maitre d' to the servers, and seem to be right off the set of the Sopranos. The food is absolutely delicious, and the vibe is upbeat and fun, without being too much. Highly recommend.

The service was professional and had an old-fashioned flair to it. The maitre d' and waitstaff were genuinely welcoming. The food was well-executed and the parmagianno served with a small (complimentary) antipasto plate was among the best I've ever had. The branzino was excellent, as was the seafood pasta dish enjoyed by my friend. A couple of large groups were dining while we were there and the restaurant seems to be well-suited to high-end functions. The decor felt a bit shopworn for the high prices and the bathrooms are down a rickety stairway that drops you into a dark, basement hallway (some tourists I ran into in the ladies' room were horrified - but for NYC retaurants in older buildings it's typical).

We first discovered this wonderful TriBecca restaurant while staying across the street at the Smyth Hotel. There is not a better or more authentic Italian restaurant in all of NYC. The food is fresh, and perfectly portioned and seasoned. The wait staff are entertaining and at the same time, highly professional. I would recommend this neighborhood gem to any "foodie" who loves great food, a great wine selection, and speciality cocktails. Don't walk...run to Acappella! Tell Sergio we said Ciao!

One of the best northern Italian restaurants in NYC and maybe the US. The service is in the top 5 of all time for me and I travel extensively around the world. The food was amazing. It is a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for in my book. I had salmon with an assortment of seafood. My fettuccine with a porcini mushroom cream sauce as an appetizer was incredible. Desserts were fantastic also.

The suggested wine pairings were spot on with all food selections. The food... Oh my... So intensely flavorful and really brought an old world Italy sensation to the belly... Yum!!! I had lunch here with a colleague the other day. He had traveled from his office to the vicinity of mine, so I wanted a nice place and I picked Acapella from an Open Table search. The room is very comfortable, dominated by an attractive portrait of a man in a Renaissance stiffened hat. The restaurant was relatively empty at lunch on the day we went. Service was good, and there were various specials. Preparation was very good, portions were adequate. Price was pretty high, overall, but value for money was good, particularly since we could conduct a conversation during lunch. I certainly plan to go back.

Reserved dinner at 8pm on a Friday for our first wedding anniversary. The executive chef Sergio greeted us at the door and sat us right in front of the food prep/cooking table. Servers came around with a cheese bowl along with complimentary cold and hot antipasti. I ordered the lamb and wife ordered the 3 pasta dish. Both were prepared in front of us. Very nice touch, felt like dinner at hells kitchen. Food was delicious. The bathroom is located in the basement which looks like a dungeon.

We came here to celebrate a couple of birthdays and an anniversary, a June collection of events, in one spectacular meal. Acappella never disappoints. We've come here several times for "dinner and a show" and we are always happy with the wait staff, the service, the food, the noise level. Several dishes are done with a flambé flair, and the waiter's patter as he announces the menu, puts everyone is a good mood. In all, while the bill is high, we feel that we've more than gotten our money's worth. We'll be back.

I often entertained clients at Acappella in the 90's and was always one of my favorite Italian restaurants in NYC. I had not been there in about 15 years and was pleasantly surprised to see it very much the same today as back then. Although it is pricey, the food, service and ambience are exceptional. All in all a unique dining experience for any special occasion. Even if that occasion is any old Saturday.
