  • "We had a very nice office lunch at Acadiana. The complimentary biscuits with spicy marmalade are addictive. The crab and corn soup could have been heated a little more and could have stood a little more seasoning. I have had the crispy fried catfish fillets before and sometimes they are great and sometimes not. Today I tried the shrimp and grits. Despite some reviews I read, that was a good choice. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and everything was seasoned well, however, the menu listed the grits as being cheesy. There was no hint of cheese in the grit cake. Stay away from the spice pear cobbler, it was neither spiced nor what I consider cobbler. There was no crust, just crumble and the pears were not cooked enough."

  • "I looked at several restaurant reviews for places near Warner Theater so we could park once and hit both places. I'm SO glad I chose Acadiana. Service was excellent & not at all pretentious. Drinks, appetizers, entrees, dessert, all arrived well-paced & beautiful. Between two of us, we made it through 6 cocktails, each more delicious than the last. Basil Belle was my favorite. We made our way through some beautiful & well-balanced salads (a beet salad & a BLT salad), my first ever fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, perfectly cooked veal, perfectly cooked grouper, beignets, and some warm delicious coffee & hazelnut Baileys beverage. I wouldn't hesitate to order any of it again. Only problem is I needed to be rolled to the Warner afterwards."

  • "I love Acadiana but for the first time, I had a bad charboiled oyster. I knew the minute I put it in my mouth that it wasn't any good. It would have been nice to receive something off the bill since it was my main entree. The young woman who greeted me and my colleague was either having a bad day or that's just her temperament. I didn't feel welcomed at all but she did tell us to have a good afternoon. I guess she must have known she wasn't giving the best customer service. Hope the feedback helps. Not a complainer but I do believe in excellence of service!"

  • "I have been visiting Acadiana for years. The food and the service is always top notch. My favorite dish is the Tilapia and I have been recently turned on to the charbroiled oysters. If you want great food, which is not something you can find everywhere you go, try this place out. You will not be dissapointed!!"

The menus were worn and soiled, the food lacked originality and left me wondering was it fresh and when was it prepared. We left after 30 minutes. This restaurant needs a chef or manager to take charge and bring what should be a great restaurant back to life."

  • "We had a business dinner here & everyone was impressed with dinner. Appetizers: beet salad, fried green tomatoes, my soup trio of gumbo, corn & crab chowder, and turtle soup- excellent. Little warm biscuits w pepper jelly & butter were divine. I had jumbo crab cakes & they were delicious- all crab and almost no crumb. I brought my mother for brunch the next day & the food was impeccable. We had salad with grilled rainbow trout & i had a shrimp w cheesy grits & bacon to die for. Service not quite as spot on as before( little things, water not getting refilled, having to flag down our server when not checked upon). But service both times was friendly, and I will definitely return"

  • "Great location, easy to find. But we were disappointed in our food choices. The corn & crab soup had shells in it. Our entrees of the crispy duck and BBQ shrimp tasted good, but left us feeling poorly for the rest of the evening and most of the next day - like we ate overly rich food. The crispy duck had virtually no dirty rice underneath and too many collard greens. We ordered a side of red beans and rice, and it did not come until after we finished our entrees. Our server never checked up on us until we had finished our entrees, either. The best part of our meal was our other appetizer - chicken and sausage gumbo; excellent. The tables where we sat are too close together as well. First visit - not inspired to rush back."

  • "A friend took me to Acadiana for my birthday and it was my first time there. We had a 6:30p reservation and I was happy to learn that it was still happy hour! So we got our drinks and appetizers for $5 for each item. We then each ordered the duck which was incredible! It was literally a half of a duck on theplate. It was tasty, non-gamey, and one of two best duck dishes I've had that was not made Chinese style. The dirty rice and collard greens were a perfect match to the duck. I gave the food rating 4 stars instead of 5 because the catfish appetizer (which was plentiful) was unfortunately, bland, even with the sauce. However, my friend and I are planning on returning and bringing another friend to enjoy the duck!"

We were a little early, but our quiet table was ready and waiting--a lovely respite after a long day of meetings. Our server was professional and attentive, and gave excellent suggestions. The beet salad, fried green tomatoes and roasted corn and crab soup drew rave reviews, while I lingered over my favorite 'trio of pies'. We all enjoyed our entrees--the chef's special fish and the duck were particularly great. The ice cream and sorbet samplers rounded out a superb repast. Recommend highly!"

  • "I grew up in Louisiana and love its great food. In the DC area there are other restaurants that serve Louisiana food, but none do it as well as Acadiana. They know and serve only the real thing. Great food, excellent service, and the best way to get true delicious Louisiana cuisine without having to go home to New Orleans."

  • "We took my mother there for a brunch for her birthday. We let them know in advance, and they personalized the menu (nice touch!). The prix fixe brunch is great. The prize for food goes to the seafood crepes (first course of three). The service was attentive but not overbearing. The live music was good, but we were fairly close to it, and it was a bit too loud to hear each other comfortably. If with an older person, would suggest asking for a table further away from the music (which is near the entrance)."

  • "I was leaving DC forever, and chose Acadiana as the last restaurant I'd dine at the night before my move. The charbroiled oysters are my favorite oysters anywhere in the world. Grillades and grits outshine anything I've had in New Orleans. Blacked redfish over fettuccini - spectacular. (I made the hubby get my secobd favorite so I could have a last bite.) wish I'd been able to order the crispy duck and the barbecue shrimp, too. If it had been lunchtime I'd have said farewell with the Cochon de lait po'Boy. Oh, Acadiana I will miss you more than I will miss so e of the people I've known in Washington."
