Acacia is at the base of the Catalina mountains and has a wonderful view of Tucson. It's a great place to watch the sun set over the desert. The cocktails and dishes are creative and thoughtfully prepared. We had the three course tasting menu and it was excellent.

Acacia is celebrating their tenth anniversary and Tucson resident and frequent visits are grateful it has endured--and prospered, The menu doesn't change a great deal, but there is sufficient variety to please tastes ranging from short ribs to vegan. A separate bar and lunch menu makes it appealing at happy hour and midday. The crab Louie is particularly first rate. On this evening the young chicken dinner entre was exceptional, the bouillabaisse less so. Luke warm to begin with and the odd addition of crispy corn tortilla strips which became soggy forthwith. Nondescript is the best way to describe it. Not a fave!

Although it was not a busy night, service was very slow. Food was attractively served, but serving sizes were small. Soup was over-salted, and the $18 scallop appetizer consisted of two lonely pieces on a large plate. Main dishes were well-decorated, but only average in quality. Have had better meals there in the past.

Wine pairing choice was excellent. The food was in smaller portions but we did not walk away hungry. The wines that went with the meal were reviewed by the waiter with 2 small glasses for each portion. We both thought the dinner was excellent.

Our reservation was at 6:00 at a table next to the window so we could enjoy the city lights.I had the halibut special which was prepared perfectly and served attractively with an assortment of veggies. First I had the kale salad but knew I would be too full if I ate it all so the waiter wrapped it for me. My husband enjoyed his meal of calamari and chipino [sp?].

Very disappointing food. Chopped salad was romaine, black olives out of a can, chick peas out of a can and chunks of rubbery cheese. Shortrib dish had hard, undercooked potatoes and sauce that may have been ketchup thinned with beef broth, no seasoning. Server was very nice but was dealing with food complaints from other customers as well.

Acacia, sitting on an upscale hill overlooking Tucson -- too far off to discern its features -- has been through a few changes. It's not on the beaten path. And the intriguing shops nearby, especially an excellent art gallery, were closed this weekend, turning the short block dark when the sun went down, except for the second-story restaurant. It shouldn't have been so vacant on a Saturday night. One wants a little hubbub. Still, parking was easy. The view remains superb. It was a nice night: the windows should open, to let in the desert aromas. Putting the ambience aside, the food and wine were excellent (if a little pricy); the service, too. My date and I had a fine time. You should go too. The more, the merrier! Thanks, Acacia.

We were treated as "visiting royalty". The food was marvelous and the presentation unmatched. Our server was an ultimate professional at her job and made us feel very special. Although the dining area was not very busy on this Tuesday evening (7:30 - 9:00 P.M.), the bar area did have a large company group that was quite loud. However, they were obviously having a good time and that feeling was infectious. All in all, our dinner there was magnificent!

This was my, and my groups first time at the new location for Acacia. The food choices were very good, and different. The food was very good, and the ambiance was good. It was slightly noisy. The only small problem, was that although we had a group of 8 women who talked, and talked, when we did need something or our bills, it was very difficult to get our waitress's attention. Judy

A wonderful menu - something for everyone - Duck, Chicken, Steak, and a veggie alternative. A fine dining experience from start to creme brulee. And, maybe just the best creme brulee I have ever had - anywhere. Artistic presentation - and, delicious food. Not just "good" but, delicious. Servers were professional and friendly. The views of the City are a beautiful backdrop to this artsy location. A definite favorite for us from now on. We cebrated by adding a Robert Sensky wine (POV) that was phenomenal.

Service was very good. Our wine was excellent. Husbands dinner of salmon was quite delicious. My duck was unfortunately inedible. However, our server asked if it could be replaced with anything else and at that point decided I was full from appetizer and declined/they did take it off the bill tho. The birthday dessert we ordered (apple crisp) was heavenly! Not sure if I would rush back.

Acacia has long been known for outstanding food. Chef Albert is a a legend in Tucson. With so many fine restaurants in the Old Pueblo we sometimes forget those restaurants that were pioneers in making Tucson a foodies paradise. Acacia has continued to innovate and provide new menu items that are a feast to behold and enjoy.

Had a lovely dinner at Acacia. We arrived while it was still light outside, so watched the sunset from the panoramic windows then enjoyed the city lights. Great views. Food and service were outstanding. We appreciated our friendly, professional, and knowledgeable waitress, who paced the meal exactly as we wanted. We had the hard-smoked trout appetizer, which was delicious and creative, then we both had the Scottish salmon, which was cooked perfectly (nicely seasoned and not overcooked!). The salmon was buttery and almost melted in our mouths. Wonderful evening, including the quiet, romantic atmosphere (only slight distraction was a TV going in the bar, though it seems hard to escape those these days!). Highly recommend this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner, looking out over metro Tucson as the sun set and the lights began to twinkle. Our food was delightful and the service cordial and attentive to our every need. Though we don't usually have dessert, the one we shared over an after dinner coffee was rich and satisfying. A great way to unwind and enjoy the panoramic views of greater Tucson from the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. This was not our first time to Acacia and will definitely not be our last.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a wonderful Sunday brunch at Acacia. We had made early reservations close to opening time so we got a premium table near the windows with a view of the entire city of Tucson. I had the poached eggs with roast beef hash which were great, perfectly cooked and more than I could eat. My husband enjoyed the shrimp and linguine which had a generous portion of shrimp in a light red sauce. The service was attentive, the food and cocktails were great and the view and location are wonderful.

We were seated at a window seat as requested. Good The downside was no nightly specials being offered, the grilled romaine was amateur, my steak was not med, but very well done and so dry I could hardly cut into it. Lastly, they overlooked the part about it being my birthday (which it was.) I did not complain about the food quality as it would have been embarrassing in front of my guests who would have waited until a new meal was prepared for me. This plate should never have left the kitchen... On the up side everyone else had great meals.

Last minute reservation thru open table resulted in fabulous two topper next to the window with a great view of the entire valley. Food, service and ambience was fantastic. Note, this was a slow, off season, early Friday evening. Restaurant was not crowded. Marty, our server was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We are from out of town. Finding this gem only 2 miles from our stay was a pleasant surprise. Nice selection of authentic Tuscan fare. Steamed dumpling apps were outstanding. The creamy mushroom risotto that came with the baked garlic chicken was the best risotto ever! Halibut with jeweled (saffron) rice another great dish. Cream Brule' was deep and creamy - only flaw was that the glazed sugar topping was a bit too thick.

I got an email from Acacia about the "August Clambake"...it sounded fun, so we invited another couple who had never been to Acacia. It was pretty bad. There wasn't much food, and what food there was was just ok. This isn't the first time this location has disappointed us. Chef Hall changed his concept when he moved to this location and the food just isn't very good anymore, and certainly has less imagination.

We took my visiting sister and niece to Acacia. The hostess seated us at a window table for a great view of the Tucson lights at sunset. Salads were fresh with a light dressing and garbanzo beans. The Honig Cabernet went well with the hanger steak, salmon and risotto. The potatoes with the hanger steak were particularly flavorful. Sea salt caramel and vanilla gelato completed the meal. The only negative was a suggestion that since there was a large group being served that night we were advised to order our main courses, promptly. And they arrived very shortly after our salads. While better than waiting interminably, it rendered the pacing of the meal a little brisk. Overall, a very good experience - we will return.

This was the perfect spot for a first date in that we were able to talk with one another without a feeling of being rushed by the staff so they could hurry up and get another customer in place. We chatted over cocktails for some time, then ordered appetizers, and when we were ready ordered our main courses while enjoying a wonderful view of the city. It was a great experience and to top it off with the food was simply outstanding. We both were very pleased with the service and food at Acacia. BTW I never give the top mark in surveys so you should feel satisfied with the rating I gave for this review. But tell me how did you come up with the nickname as it was very fitting??

My friend and I both had the small filet with the delicious cheesy potatoes. We shared the house salad which was also delicious and topped off the meal by sharing a strawberry shortcake . The shortcake was actually part of a special menu item of the night, but the chef graciously agreed to let us have it. I can always count on Flemings to prepare the steaks exactly as ordered - medium rare is actually medium rare. The only non perfect part of the evening was when we tried to order wines from the small menu at our table and were told those were from the bar happy hour menu and could not be ordered in the dining room. In spite of that it was a delightful evening and a good way to celebrate my retirement.
