Diner Reviews
  • "Very nice. Mussels pots a different niche. Very attentive service. We would return."

  • "Great restaurant with delicious food and great scene. Mussels were really good and special rock shrimp appetizer was amazing. Dining stress is very comfortable and bar area is spacious too. DJ after about 9:00 with really good music."

  • "Everything about acacia was fine, and I would be happy to recommend it for dinner Sun-Wed. Sat night was so LOUD! My girlfriend squished onto my side of the table so we could speak. If we wanted to include her husband in the conversation, we had to tell my husband, who in turn would tell my friend's husband. We couldn't wait to get out of there."

  • "Great place, Great food, the owner came over to the table and intoduced himself and we chatted about the name and the space. Great experience!"

  • "Nothing special, food was OK, service was nice however sparse. Will chalk up to growing pains and try again in a few months to see if they worked things out."

  • "Had a delicious white bean ravioli app, nice salad and pan seared chicken, everything was great...Highly reccomend the peach Cosmo! I would return again , felt it was a little on the pricey side, however it was worth it!"

  • "Suffolk County residents- no need to drive to Garden City's Waterzooi for mussels....Acacia has them bigger, tastier and plenty of choices....and the rest of the menu from salads to dessert is also excellent! Drinks were also made to perfection....service was on the mark and place is starting to get busy....and if you don't want shellfish, they have an excellent menu with lots of variety.....we will be back!"

  • "Three of us dined on Scallops, Steak and Striped Bass. All three meals were judged as 'fantastic. We had the additional good fortune of being attended to by Maria and she made our dining experience a delight. We had wanted to try this restaurant as we used to frequent the chef's former restaurant frequently. We will now frequent Acacia (very) frequently! The physical ambience was very nice but could only give four stars as the noise was a bit much. Have already recommended to others ..."

  • "I know this is a new restaurant but the food was terrible. I ordered Mussels and the broth was tasteless. My friends lobster tails were undercooked. I would go to all the other good restaurants in Huntington Village. This was on Feb 26th, 2014"

  • "The mussel pots are a standout. Had the Cioppino which was first rate. Plump, tender mussels accompanied by equally tasty shrimp and clams. Highly recommend this spot."

  • "I heard all about their mussels pots and was not disappointed. I ordered the mussels with the clams, shrimp and scallops. It was amazing! Every table around us seemed to have a pot on their table. My husband, not a seafood fan, so enjoyed his steak dinner. Even though he orders it well done, it was moist and delicious. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. We were a bit disappointed that we were seated so close to the table next to us, but they were a friendly young couple and it did not interfere with our special evening out. A candle or small lamp on the table would have been a nice touch as the dinning area is a bit dark. The bar was lovely and everyone seemed to be having fun. We will definitely frequent this fin, new restaurant!!"

  • "Beautiful renovation to the old Meehans Catering section. Nice menu only thing i would say it is a little light on the Meats. For fish it is very well done"

  • "The mussels were outstanding, I had the Cioppino and my wife had the Acacia. The sauce in mine was great for dipping the bread. My wife's was also outstanding. My friend had the scallops which were large and very tender. I also had the crab cakes for an appetizer, they were lump and very good. My wife had the Beet salad which she enjoyed, but could not finish( she took home and enjoyed the next day)."

  • "Way overpriced for what was served. Long wait for food."

  • "We were excited to try a new sport in Huntington but ended up sorely disappointed. The service was seriously subpar. The server's flat energy was only rivaled by her inattentiveness. The food was fine although two people in our party ordered mussel pots and were given each others by the server. Not until one of them looked for the sausage at the bottom did she discover the flub. Nothing was offered to fix it either. Not even a cup of tea. Oh and the molten chocolate cake was awful. The crowd was bizarre. Around 9:00 the club crowd started strolling in waiting, I suppose, for the DJ who was setting up. Not a good experience and we will definitely not be returning."

  • "DISSAPPOINTER IN THE MENU OFFERINGS. MUSCLES SEEMED TO BE PRE BOI=LED AND THEN THE SAUCE WAS ADDED. DID NOTN HEVE THAT COOKED TOGETHER / SAUTED TOGETHER FLAVOR"

  • "I had the tuna and my friend had the sea scallops. We both really enjoyed our meals.( I will bring my husband back to sample one of the many mussel pots). We ended our dinner sharing a delicious key lime pie. Both the service and the food were very good."

  • "when I went to the bathroom there were fruit flies. I would never eat there again."

  • "If you eat mussels this is a must go new restaurant. However, if you don't, the selection is very limited. The food is outstanding, but they must add more fish choices to the menu."

  • "Mussels, and scallops fantastic! Very loud, service slow but accomadating."

  • "Food was good. Lobster bisque soup was a little pricey and could have been better. Tuna entree was excellent."
    Dined on 1/24/2014
  • "The food was mediocre at best. My mussels were not tasty and even adjusted by the chef were still pretty bland. The cappucino was cold and was sent back and replaced by lukewarm coffee. The wine was good and the atmosphere was nice. The acoustics were pretty bad, even though the restaurant was not even half filled, it was hard to hear."

  • "We went on a Saturday night. It was jumping. We were seated right away. Our server was Jean. Everyone was attentive, and even though it was crowded, we didn't feel rushed. We shared a beey salad. I had bouillabaisse, my date had the Acacia special. It was all delicious. We will definitely be back."

  • "Started dining at 6:30. The bar was crowded by 8:pm and we could no longer converse at our table. Louisiana Mussels and special pesto mussels were excellent as was the tuna tartare. The shrimp cocktail was simple and bland, as was the mescaline salad."
    Dined on 1/18/2014
  • "The Acacia's Best mussels were amazing..... also had the seared scallops, which were excellent!!! Vibe of the DJ was perfect, and the later the night went on, the better the music!!!"

  • "Lovely place with good food. Way too noisy for me, but if you don't mind the noise, you're in luck! I don't eat mussels but the mussel pots looked interesting. Definitely worth a try."

  • "We were excited to try the mussel pots, but found them not flavorful enough. The prices were a bit high for what you get. The bar service was very slow. I would go back for drinks, but probably not dinner."

  • "We had tickets to see a show at the Paramount . Decided to try Acacia which is directly across the street and we were so glad we did. The owners put a lot of thought and detail to create an ambiance which gave us a wonderful dining experience . I would recommend Acacia for that special occasion or special date. The organic chicken was delicious, seasoned to perfection. The scallops were presented on top of a thin sliced potato and my husband said they were the best he had. For a restaurant that only has been open since October, they certainly have their act together. Will definitely be back to try the mussels. The only thing I would request, is that a few more dishes be added to the entrees. Enjoy, you will not be disappointed."

  • "Food and Service was Great. Jillian was a terrific waitress. Only issue is that it gets very noisy in the restaurant area, even before the DJ goes on or the bar crowds really start. A partial divider between bar and restaurant would be wonderful as I can't imagine having a conversation in the restaurant easily once the bar area gets crowded. Food and service were great. Will return."

  • "Acacia is a great new restaurant directly across from the Paramount Theater. Excellent seafood preparations. Nice wine selection. Definitely worth a visit, especially before or after a show."

  • "The food was good..the service spectacular...HOWEVER YOU COULD NOT HEAR YOURSELF THINK LET A LONE TALK...THE LOUDEST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO AND I HAVE BEEN DINING OUT FOR 40 YEARS. THERE IS A NICE LOUDNESS AND AN EAR SPLITTING LOUDNESS..THIS WAS THE LATTER. UNLESS YOU ARE VERY YOUNG LIKE 18-25 YOU WILL NOT ENJOY IT...HAD TO LEAVE EARLY."

  • "Restaurant has a nice atmosphere but they need to improve the food. Staff are friendly and attentive. Nice bar."
    Dined on 11/12/2013
  • "Food is very good, not outstanding. Service is not good at all. Servers don't know the menu well, can't answer questions, don't know what gluten free means. A bit disturbing considering they are going for an upscale atmosphere. When asked for a cup of green tea I was told we only have lipton. And out comes the lipton tea bag…really? Uscale restaurant that doesn't have a tea box? Weird. I hope they grow into themselves or it won't last long."

  • "Too noisy. Could not conduct a reasonable conversation with my dining partner. Food was delivered to wrong table. Special was small serving with scant potato portion and almost non-existent vegetable. Salmon was passable with mushrooms lined up on polenta as five matchsticks."
