The service was good but the food was disappointing. I had the worse Pad Thai which was sweet and no vegetables when I had asked for Vegtables. I will not go back and we were given very bad seats . The table was not too clean too.

Had a wonderful meal here. The food was absolutely outstanding and could not be faulted. The service was very attentive, once we had been seated. Only slight downside was the dessert that we would have selected from the menu was not available due to a missing component part so they would not serve us a modified version. Apart from that very minor issue it was a wholly pleasant experience which we will be repeating. It is also worth noting that considering it was St. Valentines day, the restaurant was quiet and romantic as well as receiving a very high level of service. Would highly recommend for Mclean!

spring rolls wre nicely crisp and tasty without oiliness. Our Green curry, seafood pad thai and beef with sauce mail dishes were alldelicious with the green curry a nice fire to it. We shared all the dishes and all were plentiful. Service was very polite. Easy in and out with parking and a convenient place to meet friends and enjoy god Thai food. We will return.

Absolute Thai was absolutely perfect for our occasion. We had a birthday celebration for 14 and the friendly and inviting staff is what made it more than special. The meals were fabulous and the prices were moderate. We will make go there anytime we are in the McLean area and want our fix of Thai food. Thank you to the staff for being so accomodating and to the chief for great meals.

When you impress my 86 year old mother with good service, amazing homemade deserts [yes at a thai restaurant] and delicious standards such as Pad Thai then all is good in the world. Starters of thai dumpling and fried calamari [light batter!] were above average and well presented; fresh ginger with shrimp was delicate and flavorful; panang curry with chicken was creamy and yummy. Chocolate Lover Cupcake was XXOXX.

Excellent food and friendly service brought us back . . . after a surprisingly wonderful lunch in September. We chose the restaurant then after our familiar spots were all closed and were wowed with the entree recommended by our rather energetic waitress. The second time didn't disappoint. This time for dinner with friends. Spare ribs, curries, and the Pad Thai were all well worth the visit. The dessert menu to die for.

I have tried every Thai place in the nearby areas and have yet to find one with the perfect balance of flavor and heat. Absolute Thai nailed it! One caveat, this is based on my own personal preferences - I have never visited Thailand, so I cannot comment on how this stacks up. What I do know is that the panang curry is fantastic! The ambiance is very good, service excellent, and staff very friendly. But the real hidden treasure are the pastries. They are absolutely beautiful, reasonably priced, but more importantly, they are not overly sweet or rich. I love this place - try it, you won't be disappointed!

Overall brilliant. I asked for a thai hot green curry which was superb: very hot but full of flavour. My wife went for the Mussandam, a peanut based mild curry. It was very good, but had too many peanuts in it compared to the Absolute Thai in DC. Our shared starter of the thai chicken and lime was great fun, if not a bit messy. Having wet wipes or a finger bowl would be a great addition.

This place could be good/great...and should be good/great. They simply can't get their service act together. Food is good. But the entire wait staff is in perputal confusion. Very nice...very friendly staff - they just don't seem to actually know how to wait on a table. Shame...

I loved the place right when I walked in the door because of the stark contrast from the drab exterior of the mini-mall where it is located. The space was welcoming and the warm and welcoming smell of thai food hits you right away. The wait staff could best be described as disinterested in our experience as we did not see her very often and we waited longer than I would have expected to order since the restaurant was not full. We ordered the Thai Chicken wraps, Wonton Soup, Pad Thai with Shrimp, and Panang Curry with Chicken. The Chicken in the wraps was dry and tough to eat but the wonton soup broth was the best I have ever had. The main dishes were typical and didn't stand out in any real way. Not a bad meal but not worth a 2nd visit.

We had as our guest an old friend who owns a vacation condo in Thailand...he goes at least two or three times a year and his partner is a fabulous cook. He raved about the food (as did my wife and I) and although it was a bit milder than the same dish would have been in Thailand it was still delicious with ample portions. The appetizers of spring rolls and dumplings were beautifully served with fantastic taste. We were stuffed but on leaving we took a look at the seductive pastries and resolved to return for their grand opening on April 11th. Who would have thought such varied thai/french selections would be available in my neighborhood in McLean. We will be back!

Absolute Thai in Chinatown is a favorite of mine. I had high hopes for the new Absolute Thai in McLean. The good is that it clones the excellent menu of the Chinatown flagship. The bad is that it adds a garishly lighted bakery (cupcakes and such) that doesn't really fit with the food and ups the prices in a restaurant location that has been the death of America America, Il Borgo, and other restaurants before it. The location has no street entrance, no view, no outdoor dining, and in its present incarnation has been stripped of almost all decor other than a couple of flat panel TVs and a statue of Buddha. Service on a Sunday night was sketchy, and the chef made several uninvited changes to the spice level of our entrees. Keep the faith.
