I can't share enough positives at this point. Arrived early to have a drink in the bar before dinner. I could have stayed there all night, but I had bigger plans and wanted room to spread out a bit with a steak and a bottle of Cabernet. Service was excellent. Great table, terrific waiters, and the service was attentive and not hovering. A question about the wine selection didn't merely produce an answer, it produced the sommelier who explained the different wine specials that night and the values to be had. The restaurant was a bit noisy for our taste. We sat across from each other at a rather small table and it was a bit difficult to hear each other. The ambience, service and quality of the food was all very good, but I hate the a la carte system of ordering. At the prices they charge, you should at least get a vegetable with your fish. Also, I don't like the way they say "Market Price" but don't tell you the price when taking your order. Pretty basic but high quality food. Abe & Louie's is always on the list for dinner. Great steaks! Kenny is the best to have as a server there. He takes care of you and has a good story for you. We knew it would be a bit pricey, but it was a special occasion and felt like splurging. The waiter was relatively well informed when it came to the menu items and was very friendly and personable. He was also not hesitant to call the sommelier over to assist us with the wine selection. The sommelier wasn't as helpful as I would have expected, but he did help us with our decision simply by ensuring our selection wasn't a bad one.. The food was great, but I'm not a big fan of the separate side dishes, which I suppose you'd find at this type of restaurant. The food was excellent. We started with shrimp cocktail and oysters. Unfortunately, the next course ( soup) arrived while my companion was still eating his oysters, but the waiter quickly recognized the problem and offered to bring back the soup. (We politely declined, but appreciated the gesture.) He was very attentive for the rest of the evening and did not miss a beat. He warned me that the swordfish steak Asian style had both admirers and detractors, but I had it anyway. I am glad that I did, even though the glaze was salty. Overall, a lovely and sentimental experience! I would go again. My only criticism was that the tables for two were very small. The food was the best ever, the service with Sam, our waiter was incredible. He was always ready, willing and able. It must have been hard to be back working in a space that was a war zone just a week earlier, but all the staff was on their game, smiling and making everyone feel at home. Good job! Great wine, good service and of course the food, wow! We shared carpaccio to start, I had a boneless filet and he had the ribeye. Everything was cooked perfectly, sides of brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes were a perfect accompaniment to our steaks. I was there for lunch on 3/15 @ 2pm with a friend and words can't describe both the food and service, but I'll try. Apps - my friend had and AMAZING bowl of French Onion Soup covered in cheese with the most flavorful broth. I had pristine oysters on the half-shell with choice of sauces - EXQUISITE. For entrees, my friend had their cheeseburger and, aside from not being able to finish it from its size, she said the flavor was totally on spot. I had the Filet Mignon done medium and it melted in my mouth. The service was friendly, efficient and completely unobtrusive which was a welcome relief from SO many restaurants.
