  • "Took in a RedSox game at Fenway walked back to Abe & Louies from the ballpark ready to be wined and dined and they did not disappoint! Steaks were outstanding, salted baked perfect and the service was excellent from the moment we came through the door. We were at Abe & Louies about 7 months ago and didn't seem as nice as this time around, so glad we gave it another shot. Maybe it's just the great summer atmosphere with the doors opened fully out to a very busy city scape that makes it just so right! Great deal on a bottle of wine they had as a special and it was."

  • "Tuna tartare and salad appetizer were excellent. One of the entree was ok, a Wagyu steak coming from Australia, juicy but flavorless. The other entree, a butterfly filet , was terrible, overcooked, burnt and extremely dry. The sides were good. After complaining we were offered a free dessert. Cream Brûlée , custom made (in practice they prepared the hard top crust). We appreciated the effort, but the result was disappointing, the dessert felt like a frozen greek yogurt with some artificial vanilla flavor. Also the wine, served as Sav. Blanc but most likely a Chardonnay, was disappointing. The experience was ok, but from this type of restaurant and at this level (>$100/each) of pricing, the experience should be impeccable."

We had a great time. We can't end this without saying how our server Chris was exceptional. He gave us and amazing service we thank him. I can't say anymore it was wonderful. Thanks."

  • "Bone in filet best I've had, so tender, cooked to perfection! Salads, ice cold & huge, the the whipped cauliflower-devine. We all felt our experience was flawless & our food delish. HOWEVER, we returned the next night, steaks were very good but the sides were not as good as the night before especially the baked potato, over baked or just left over and they over cooked the lobsters twice! Not sweet, chewy ($56) & that was our 2nd round, 1st was inedible,what a shame-at a restaurant of this caliber & in Boston, they couldn't serve a succulent sweet lobster! Although food disappointed, service was the real disappointment lack of attention, poor attitude along with the handling of the lobster issue is enough to rethink visiting again"

  • "We spent our 38th Anniversary dinner at Abe & Louie's before Billy Joel. The wait staff was very attentive and not rushing us at all. The food was great and spread out so we were able to thoroughly enjoy the meal. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there this week. We started at the bar for a drink until our reservation was ready. When out table was ready we sat right next to the bar in a spacious booth for two. We found at times difficult to hear each other over the restaurant noise level. The salted bread was amazing and the shrimp cocktail was fresh and delicious. My husband and I both got steak while my husbands was cooked to perfection mine was dry and over cooked. This was disappointing for a $48 steak:( we also shared asparagus which was blackened and not steamed. I think this would have been a better dinner if we were with friends or a large party not very romantic for anniversary which was disappointing."

  • "A classic Boston steakhouse experience. Lots of dark wood, cozy accommodations, and servers at the ready. Big, perfectly cooked cuts of meat, family style sides of amazing richness, hearty appetizers and great cocktails. Abe & Louie's is a pricey night out (>$100 per person easily) but every penny feels worth it. The service is impeccable without being overbearing and every request is handled with aplomb. Favorites from our table where the French Onion Soup (amazing), the bone-in Filet Mignon (more flavorful than any filet I've ever tasted but still amazingly tender). Not the kind of place 'regular' folk can go to frequently, but for a special occasion (graduation, anniversary, etc.) this is a great choice."

  • "We arrived at 9:15pm at this restaurant. After having placed our order there were only minutes until our appetizer was served. Both were cold dishes. Both were very good but we were surprised with how quickly they were brought out. Once the first plates were removed from our table our server told us that our main courses would be "right out". We were a bit surprised but did not really know what that meant. Within 5 minutes we had our main course on the table. The food was good, not great. Nothing wrong with it, just not a top notch steakhouse quality. Servers were very quick to offer to remove our plates and the overall experience felt rushed. We left the restaurant after 70 minutes, which was not the relaxed experience we were after."

  • "Went there with my daughter for her Bday. I read the comments here but did not request special seating and was placed upstairs in the corner. In itself was not bad but view isn't good there and much preferred outside on patio where the vibe of the street and pretty flowers would have been better. Waiter was good. Food was about average to below average for what you should expect from high end $50 steak. Clam chowder was disappointing, lacked any claims, all potatoes and sauce. Great location but lacked delivery so I will not be back."

  • "The past part about the dining experience was the spectacular service. Our waiter was extremely accommodating and considerate to our needs. He made suggestions on the menu items so we ordered what he recommended. The prime rib was a huge disappointment though. It came out a bit overcooked but there wasn't any juice in it/on it so we barely touched it. My bone-in filet was over-charred on the sides but the inside was perfect. Some of the sides like the cauliflower steak and mushroom/spinach were extremely salty. It was our first time dining at Abe & Louie so we were extremely disappointed."

  • "We recently relocated to the New England area after having lived in Dallas for the last 11 years. Our dining experiences have paled in comparison to what we had become accustomed to in Dallas, notably one of the premier dining areas in the nation. After lamenting the lack of good steakhouses in the area, on the recommendation of our Boston Segway tours guide, we came to Abe and Louie's. Hallelujah! As tender and mouth-watering as we had hoped. We each got a different cut of steak that was perfectly prepared and as tasty as only corn-fed beef can be. Service was lacking unfortunately--not nearly as attentive as you would expect considering the price of the meals, but the food was certainly on par with a good Texas steakhouse. Kudos!"

  • "Bar seats were reserved by bartender when I arrived for other guest. They didn't greet me. He scoled me and said you can't sit there. They didn't say can I get you a drink. They said those seats are reserved. (who knew I thought bars were open seating). I finally said - can I order a drink? Personally, I found the bartenders rude but I realize they have their locals that they cater to and folks like me - well - wait - and be thankful if they even acknowledge you. We had to ask for the serve to come to our table so many times that we just ordered everything we needed after asking for him 3x. However, despite the terrible service when the food arrived it was heavenly. Oh, and don't ask for a military discount - they laughed."

  • "This was our second time at Abe and Louie's. It is your typical upscale steak house -- great steaks, noisy and crowded, very expensive. The best part was the vodka martinis. I would go back just for one of those. :-) I had a signature cucumber martini that was amazing. I also had the swordfish which was nothing to write home about, but the others with me had steaks and they were very good. With all the other steak houses and restaurants in and around Boston I don't know that I would back but it wasn't because I didn't enjoy the food or the experience; it's just that there are too many other great places that have more interesting food and better ambiance."
