No worries - the hostess was very understanding and quickly made the change with a smile. The appetizers and main courses were delicious. The desserts were good, but not as outstanding as the other courses. Our only complaint was the metal chairs - they did not have any cushions and were uncomfortable from the get-go for some of us, and became uncomfortable for everyone by the end of the meal. From the beautiful, rich yet soft decor, to the interplay of the lightning creating an intimate environment, to the soft-spoken, attentive waiters, the dining experience is quite special. And while I was thinking, I love this place already, I was surprised beyond my expectations with the goat cheese toast, I had the eggs Benedict for brunch which was spectacular.
Overall ABC Kitchen is, in my opinion, one of the most authentic, special restaurants in the city for healthy, clean dining that would enrich all your senses, with a calm balance of healthy, delicious food and a fun, beautiful setting. And frankly, we were also impressed by the ease and confirm reservation through Open Table. We had an opportunity for a last minute small family reunion. One member had a few hour overlay between flights from San Diego to Zurich. He arrived from Newark airport, parents came in from Connecticut and son came from Manhattan. The reservation was secure and the table ready. Staff is genuinely attentive and every course of food was extraordinary.
A complete pleasure - congratulations to all involved. We will eagerly return at the first opportunity. I hope it was not our last, living a 4 hour drive away may be a good thing as i i might try to eat there weekly. What a great experience. Wonderful service (bordering on "too wonderful" though really amazing. The menu selection was very nice. We all shared 4 appetizers, all delicious and then enjoyed our entrée. They were all great, as was the shared dessert of salted carmel ice cream and popcorn .... Ii think i have that right) a great assed crunch.

The reservation was for 11 so ambiance was more relaxed and I left a note in the reservation that they were recently engaged. Comes back to show us the bottle and disappears again, comes back and hey presto the bottle is open. Do they not open bottles at the table any more? Also, we both ordered the bass and they were out, so replaced the fish with snapper. I don't think that the flavour profiles are the same, despite what the server said.
We were there on a Friday night, so the noise level was bordering on intrusively loud. So much food, I could not finish my second course and had to take the dessert to go. Best beet salad ever and the tuna appetizer with the ginger sauce was so good I mopped up the sauce with my bread. Great experience! Greeted with complimentary wine, and were never rushed despite a long lunch. The service was gracious, the lunch menu offered terrific variety and the food exceeded our expectations. Not too noisy, even when crowded (appreciated quiet music). Only complaint: the small tables were a bit close together; we were seated in between two other 2-top tables and could hear everything said by everyone else, even though other tables farther away were open and remained open.
