  • "The fish tacos and coconut pancakes were delicious. Great service and cocktails."

  • "Service is beyond compare, food was creative and amazing. My only nitpick is that I did not love the derserts. Sizing was inconsistent with main dishes and flavors were not great."

  • "I rated this restaurant 3 stars because I didn't think the food was exceptionally good and that it was overpriced. (They charge $20 for 2 tacos!) Other than that, the ambience was nice and it was well decorated."

  • "We really wondered if Jean-Georges could hit another home run with Cocina, and he has. So many people are touting farm-to-table -- Cocina harvests the Union Square Farmer's market and easy access to fresh seafood, creating some wonderfully simple yet complex flavors. Wait staff has that signature easy, friendly touch, even in mid-lunch crush mode. Only negative note -- it is NOISY, and the table we got was much too close to the kitchen. Make sure you ask to be out of the way when you make your reservation."

  • "It was the absolutely best lunch I have had in a long time. My friend and I both arrived a little before our reservation and got a quieter table in the window seating area. Thank goodness. We proceeded to split 3 delicious apps - the pea guacamole, peeky toe crab cakes and the most delicious chared mushrooms. We split a carafe of the Lieb Rose' and then tried the Sea Salt Caramel Flan which was delivered on the smallest little plate. Good but not great until we found out that it was supposed to be served with a heavy drizzling of caramel sauce. Amber, our adorable waitress took it off our bill immediately. We both will be back for more!!"

  • "Had lunch there today with a couple of friends. Setting and decor is interesting, noise level way tooo loud. We could barely carry on a conversation without yelling over the techno soundtrack. Dishes that are listed under small plates are miniscule and you probably could easily use 4 small plates ( easily adding up to 50 -60$ ) to satisfy one regular person at lunchtime. The waiter recommended two per person which basically comes out to the equivalent of one appetizer- size portion in most regular restaurants. What little food there was was interesting............... but overall a lot of hype."

  • "Went for lunch. We were rushed by the staff from the moment we sat down. Food came out in under ten min. The buns on the sandwiches were massive. Impossible to get in your mouth. Carb overload. Nothing on the plate with the sandwich; no greens, fruit. Poor presentation."

  • "We loved our meal here! Go with a group and share everything. We found for four people, 8 dishes plus 1 dessert was perfect. Be sure to try the garden tomato salad if it is still in season, and the mushroom with goat cheese dish. The mango sangria is as dangerously delicious as all the reviews say. We sat outside, which was a lovely experience."

  • "Walking into ABC Cucina the place was packed and the mood was energetic and vibrant. Our waiter was very friendly and ready to answer any of our questions. We chose a few dishes from the small plates and each was a wonderful tasting experience. Each of the dishes was as our waiter had described and the small portions were what we expected and wanted. That allowed us to get more dishes than if they had been bigger. While we got a simple Tanqeray and tonic for drinks we did look at the drinks menu and they had a number of interesting choices which we saw on the tables around us. We ordered dessert and both of ours were outstanding. The place was packed when we got there and ended up spending over an hour and a half there. We would go again."

  • "We were 6 in our party, with 3 that didn´t like spicy food. Almost EVERYTHING was spicy. Only the sushi was normal. We didm´t expect that, nor warned. We know its mexican, but there has to be options for everybody. Mexican food is delicious, but it´s not all about spicy."

  • "Guac was good, some of the free fresh bread was good. Fish tacos overwhelmed by mayo, huevos were good but really salty; accompanying salsa flavorless."

  • "Delicious brunch. The brunch menu combines the regular menu with brunch items and all were delicious. Don't miss the tacos and the french toast!"

  • "Our table was not bused when second course came over. We asked the runner to bus the table and he refused: 'I'll call your waiter' (totally unprofessional). I needed to go and ask for silverware after our food was sitting at the table for five minutes. The same buser who brought the bottle of sparkling water, tried to pour tap water twice, even when the big bottle of sparkling water was at the table. Buser came three times to ask 'are you done?' while clearly we were still eating: completely unapropriate question and pushy service. Birthday cake came to the table while I was in the bathroom and my husband was at the table by himself. Surprise was ruined! C'mon, it is Jean George's restaurant! Something good to say: Food is fenomenal!"

  • "We booked lunch for four at ABC Cocina out of convenience: we had to be at ABC Home early afternoon. The meal was quite spectacular (though pricey), even for four jaded New York foodies! We ordered eight small plates and the jamon twice, given its surprisingly dry and robust flavor. The summer squash salad was bright and texturally great, the crab and corn fritters were crunchy on the outside and delicate on the inside, and the octopus was tender and full of flavor. We got talked into the chicken and rice, and were so glad to have done it, especially combined with the house pepper sauce; the crispy skin made the dish, providing great contrast to such a homey, comforting dish. We will be eating there again, despite the prices!"

  • "Reasonable and delicious lunch. Really good vibe for lunch (perhaps better than ABC kitchen just south). Probably not so much for dinner (for its weird location and its more casual vibe). Indeed, it's just barely cool (i.e., it could very easily exist as a midtown expense account destination) but it's cool enough, and a good place for a bite with a friend or probably to bring a cool client."

  • "We have been looking forward to visiting ABC Cocina for some time now, being from Australia. It did not disappoint. The decor was just beautiful, as were the cocktails and meals. Service was good but nothing outstanding. Overall we had a lovely evening and it lived up to our expectations."

  • "As usual, the food was delectable. My San Francisco visitors and self appointed food critics, gave ABC Cocina a 5 star rating as well. We dined outside as the Super Moon was making its way behind the buildings. Much quieter outside and no yelling required."

  • "My boyfriend I went here to celebrate his new job promotion and had a lovely time! The food was great, with the sweet pea guacamole being particularly delicious! We had a few dishes to share which were all delicious. I would say that portions are small so bare that in mind if you are very hungry. Staff were very attentive and overall the experience was a delight!"

  • "We had the mussels, shrimp, fish tacos, calamari and mushrooms. All too salty for my taste. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating."

  • "Jean‑Georges: what more do you need to know? The consistency is still there, so the food is outstanding. fish tacos were wonderful, meat empanadas were excellent, even the pine nut accompaniments were worth the trip. A bit noisy for a quiet conversation among friends, but we knew the risks going in. Some confusion with the back-to-back sister restaurant ABC Kitchen - mind which street you enter from."

  • "I had brunch so I can't say that I had a chance to *really* experience the food portion of the menu but the brunch was really good and the combinations innovative. I had the French toast with mangos and a friend had the coconut lavender pancakes...SO delish. Our waiter was great too. He didn't rush our order though We were the last reservation before the kitchen closed for lunch and he was also really knowledgeable about the menu."

  • "The mango sangria was superb! Everything we had was super tasty - a little on the spicy side, but my hubby loved that. Atmosphere was romantic and sleek. It is a bit pricey, so probably better for special occasions."

  • "I loved the mexican-inspired menu and found the portions generous--not always the case for a menu based on small plates. We lingered over a long lunch and were never rushed. Highly recommended."

  • "This would've been and should be an excellent review. Everything was great the food, the service, the space. But then when we ordered dessert the vanilla fritters came out and there was two hairs in the first fritter we picked up. The waitress took them away but the only response was "don't worry we won't charge you for dessert." Seriously? Is there a scenario where I would get charged? Given how expensive the resturant is and how gross it is to be served food with hairs in it we were disappointed by the response."

  • "Loved both of our waiters, who made stellar recommendations! The tapas dishes came out perfectly timed so that as we finished one dish, another appeared. Every dish was delicious and each member of my party had a different favorite. I highly recommend the mushroom tacos!"

  • "Great choices of tapas perfect for sharing and getting a taste of everything. Do not miss the Guac. It can get noisy but it adds to the atmosphere I believe. Killer Margaritas...I asked for a standard with a float of Grand Marnier and it paired perfectly with the mushrooms, and fish."

  • "order the shrimp w garlic sauce and the octopus. the chorizo was fine, but I wish we had more orders of octopus and shrimp instead! the shrimp tacos were also great. the place is a little pricey, but for the items i enjoyed, they were well worth it. i would go back armed with a good idea of what to order."

  • "ABC Cocina is not a low cost taco joint but the quality of the food justifies the price. My husband and I shared the spring pea guacamole, the shrimp with sizzling garlic & chili oil, the spring vegetables with rice and salsa verde and the Berkshire pork sandwich for brunch. They were all outstanding in moderate size portions (except the shrimp which was quite small). The guacamole is sublime with just the right amount of heat, served with crunchy warm housemade tortilla chips. We're still dreaming about the pork sandwich and would return for that dish alone. I tried a classic Margarita which was perfect for me. We were too full for dessert. The room is stunning in the same style as ABC Kitchen and service is friendly and efficient."

  • "Food was really good my group of 8 enjoyed how delicious everything was, but $29 for my main dish and all that came in it was a piece of fish.. I thought it was too expensive but tasty.. get ready to open up your wallet if you want to feel you ate enough.."

  • "I have eaten fish taco's from Miami to San Diego, and found the best at ABC Cocina in NYC. Service great, friendly. I love the Tapas idea at lunch because it keeps me from overeating, but the fish tacos were so good that I had to wrestle my wife and daughter for them, so we got a second order! They also make a habanero-mango sauce that I wanted to steal. I wish they sold that stuff in bottles! Great lunch. Highly recommend."
