From my made to order crab with asparagus and manchego cheese omlette to the duck breast, lobster mac n cheese and the creamy clam chowder, there is no way any one left not feeling that there was something on the menu that appealed to their palate. Even my picky 11 year old devoured the portobello mushroom ravioli! It was clearly crowded and the noise level higher than usual, but the service and the meal was great. I don't know where you'd find a better special occasion brunch for $30 and a measley $12 for children! The food is outstanding and, as one of the bartenders said, the food Is "pretty". A lot of thought goes into local fresh ingredients and presentation. Everyone is very friendly and genuinely seem to like being there. I can't say enough about the food. From burgers and pizza to truly tender and tasty short ribs, the menu will please even the pickiest eaters. It changes alot & that gets problematic when you discover a favorite item which disappears on the next iteration of the menu, BUT now they have includes the rapidly growing vegan community in their menu. Their Goji Vegan entree was fab, filling and yummy! It was an inventive, tasty mix of shiitake, sun chokes, green peas, avocado, micro greens and brown rice with a lovely warm goji vinaigrette and sunflower sprout garnish. Don't order it unless you're famished as the portion is generous and filling. Now there is finally somewhere to eat out with omnivore friends on the South Shore! The atmosphere is really good -- it's modern, but not over the top. Its comfortable -- very much a place you could imagine brining a first date or having a buisness dinner. The service has been top-notch both times we've been. The wait staff was warm, attentive, and tremendously helpful. My girlfriend and I had two apps and split a meal -- the waitress gave us some great insight into the meals and was kind enough to split the entree onto two plates without us asking.
The food itself is good, but not so good I want to call my friends and tell them they're missing out. Presentation was good, quality is good, but its not inspired and I feel that it's a bit over-priced.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGood ChoiceAbbey Park is one of our favorite restaurants! As always, our evening there was quite special; our server, whom we have had before, was friendly and efficient and the food and wine we chose was excellent, as was the ambience! We would recommend Abbey Park to all who want a few pleasant dining hours.
Our only suggestion has to do with your dessert menu! An apple (or other fruit) dessert or a creme caramel would make it more interesting! Rich chocolate desserts are not always desirable after a plentiful main course.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI always have a great experienceI always have a great experience dining here. The service is incredibly quick and more importantly, very friendly. The presentation of each dish always impresses me. Great place to eat on a week night or weekend. The only slightly negative thing about this restaurant is their parking lot is pretty small. There is off street parking nearby, but if you go during dinner hours on Thurs-Sat, you may want to plan a bit extra time to find parking.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe last couple of times IThe last couple of times I have gone they have been out of the bottle of wine I ordered. We were a large party (8) and were seated in a "basement" room". It was fine, but a heads' up would've been nice. Seated next to us at three tables was a family celebration of 24 inebriated folks who made it a challenge to hear conversation at our own table. This was definitely the case at the Easter brunch at Abby Park, served as a buffet. A large selection of high quality food (including duck and lamb)with an eye for the smallest details and our omelette was made a la carte (show cooking). Very friendly, good and prompt service. The staff was helpful, and friendly. Wait time was nonexistent. We had a reservation and were promptly seated a few minutes after arrival. My husband and I recently went to check it out during Restaurant Week and ended up ordering off the main menu as we were both swayed by all the normal entree options. We split the calamari as an appetizer and it was out of this world... olive tapanade and capers along with the usual suspects - simply delicious and generous portion size. I had the scallops and my husband had the short ribs; both meals were fantastic and the service was top notch.
