Everything about this restaurant is excellent. The atmosphere, service and especially the food. My friend and I met here after being apart for 3 years and it was perfect. The wine was absolutely delicious. I had the marinated filet mignon tips and they were out of this world delicious. I would recommend them to anyone who loves a good piece of steak. Actually it was 3 generous portions on one plate. As well as amazing truffle butter and garlic mashed potatoes. I will definitely be coming back many more times.

Abby Lane was a great pick for food and service. We sat upstairs in comfy chairs around a small silver table. Which was great for drinks and hanging out, but when it came time for dinner it was more than awkward. Maybe because I am 40+ and not a young whipper snapper anymore. But sitting at that table trying to eat a steak was uncomfortable. What made up for it was the great service. Our waitress was just on it all night and she was friendly and made great recommendations. The food was very well prepared and full of flavor. My steak was a highlight, with its delicious mushroom sauce and perfect garlic potatoes. And the chowder was also a favorite. The homemade donuts were a treat slathered with their vanilla marscapone. If in the area again I would certain go back.

It was my first time into this restaurant. I was going to a show at the Wang theater and wanted a place to eat before the show so I made a reservation. This restaurant is right across the street so I thought I'd give it a try. The menu has a great variety of items, and I had a burger and my other guest had spaghetti. I must say the food arrived very quickly and tasted very good. Our server checked back several times during the meal and was really great. We had time for dessert-which was delicious. We were able to make it to the show on time to catch the last song of the opening act. If you want great food and quick service before the show this place is great for that I would definitely go again to this restaurant. Just be sure to make reservations as there was a wait of course before a show. I highly recommend Abby Lane and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Had a very nice time at Abby Lane. Used Open Table for reservations, got there a bit early and the hostess was able to seat us a little earlier than our reservsation. Loved the decor, very trendy. The bartender was great - very pleasant and helpful. We asked for a certain kind of wine which they didn't have, but he quickly gave us a taste of something comparable - which we went with. We were going to a show across the street - worked out perfectly! l'd definitely go back again!

I took my 10 yr. old grand-daughter & my daughter to lunch before seeing "Annie" and it couldn't have been nicer. We arrived early but we were seated right away UPSTAIRS which I would highly recommend. It was much quieter than downstairs. We were at a high table and had a good view of the fireplace, windows, the bar, everything! The food was good, too. We had a salad w/chicken, a pizza, and the ever-popular chicken fingers & fries. Our waitress was lovely with just the right amount of attention. Highly recommend!

I took my daughter on a trip to Boston for the first time to see Annie at the Wang Theater. We planned our trip in advance on the Internet including choosing Abbey Lane for brunch because of the delicious looking items on the menu. We were briefly disappointed when we learned the regular lunch menu was being offered instead of brunch as we had been looking forward to the items we planned on ordering. The lunch menu had delicious sounding items too, though, and I ordered a Latin Caesar salad and clam chowder which was aesthetically pleasing as well as delicious. My daughter had pizza off the kids menu which was surprisingly good. And the Bloody Marys were so dynamite I had 2! Our waiter was extremely attentive and charismatic. He made our Girl Day really special. The next time we go to the theater we will go here again.

We came here because we had theatre tickets, and the menu looked good. The choices are carried and delicious. We tried a lamb sandwich, that was fantastic. Abby was great when I went for the first time for lunch. I'm a huge fan of J's food. This time I went before catching a show at the Wang. And for that it's perfect. The service was really bad that night though and I'm sorry but I was there at 5:30 so they weren't that busy. I thought I would go all the time but will probably save visits for when there's a show nearby. It's great for that reason.

We were going to a show at the Wang, so the location seemed perfect. Sadly, the experience was less so. The waitress rushed us through the entire meal, despite the fact they weren't overly busy at 5pm on a Tuesday. They were out of ice cream (which was the included dessert from kids menu) and she told us they could have the vanilla mousse instead.....and then proceeded to charge us the full price for it and refused to take it off the bill. All in all, I would have rather had to walk farther to get to dinner. We won't be back.

We had a disappointing experience at Abby Lane this weekend. Our salad was downright odd: Baby spinach, roasted brussells sprouts, shredded cheddar (right out of the Sargento's bag), canned mushrooms, and a cold, hardboiled egg covered in some sort of breadcrumbs. No dressing to speak of. The pizzas were also strange and lacking in flavor. This place is convenient to the Wang, but that's about all it has going for it.

I would eat salad every meal every if they always tasted like the baby spinach, brussel sprout salad at Abbey Lane!! The crispy fried egg was the perfect addition! Not too much dressing and very satisfying. Did not need the nachos we ordered for an appetizer but it was worth it! Huge plate of nachos- fresh chips that were thin and crispy with guac. Simple but delicious.

This has the most outstanding location across from the Wang theater and near other theaters. That's really the draw here. You will need a reservation however, because around show times they are very busy. Our food was just good. Nothing special. Just changed the menu, that may have contributed to it. We got clam chowder, shrimp (these were very good) and lamb sandwich. Bottom line, you come here for the location, not for the food.

We had made a reservation to eat because we had tickets for the play Annie at the Wang. We had tried for 5:00 p.m. but that was booked so settled for 4:30 p.m. We got there a little early and were seated right away. We had very nice end seats and a great waitress named Kim. We had never been there so needed time to study the menu and wine list. The wine we picked was excellent-we really enjoyed it. My wife got a Tremont St. cheeseburger and it was outstanding. I got the fried chicken dinner which came with some of those famous donuts. We were not rushed through dinner though more and more people were coming. One large party had four little girls all dressed up in Annie dresses so it was very fun. We would definitely go back!

My one kind of complaint was the music, just a bit loud for conversation. But is def overlooked due to the impeccable service and food!

Took a colleague here for a birthday lunch (and cocktail.) Our server was excellent, and so was the food, and the drinks. I had my fave drink, the Pink Lady, which was delish. I had the lamb/avocado sandwich which I could only eat half of (brought the rest home.) I had forgotten how wonderful - and plentiful - the fries are here. Overall a great meal.

We had three 11 year old girls and three Moms, out for the evening to see Mamma Mia. This was a perfect spot for us. Menu was varied but not too expansive, with the pleasant surprise of some very nice Middle Eastern touches. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Our server knew we were headed to the theater and was efficient and discounted our bill without request of seeing tickets. We did not have alcoholic drinks so cannot comment on the wine, beer, or cocktail offerings. Our only minor complaint is that we were seated near the door on a cold, blustery Boston night so we ended up with our jackets back on before the check came.

What a great find for a tasty meal before an event at the Wang or Cutler Theatre. We enjoyed our dinner from beginning to end - good service, good food, nice atmosphere. We were pleased that on a Saturday night, with reservations, we did not have to wait for our table. We were also pleased with the pace of service and food delivery. The waitress knew we had theatre at 8:00 and timed everything perfectly. We will definitely return next time we have an event in the area.

Stopped by for a quick bite before the show. I had the Vietnamese Lamb sandwich and my wife order the Pastrami Baguette. The Lamb was warm and average at best, the fries were very good. We had a server who said he was new and he apparently served the wife the Pastrami appetizer instead of the sandwich. Pastrami was cold on a board with cheese instead of a sandwich. It did not overwhelm her! Not the best or worst quick bite we have ever had and I would probably give them a second chance in the future.

Small but inventive menu. Food was great and service too. Came before the Theater on a Tuesday night. We dined early so it was very slow when we got there but almost full by the time we left. The tuna appetizer was wonderful, I had the tips and my husband had the fried chicken--both really good! Apple tart and cappicuino also wonderful. This is right in the heart of the theater district and convenient as well as delicious. We will be back!

The interior design was contemporary and comfortable. It was a little loud as the dining and bar areas were completely filled. The location is perfect if you are going to the theater. The food was much better than expected. The service not bad, busy & as timing was an issue we had to keep an eye on things. We arrived at 5PMon on a weekday so it was relatively quiet. It is a hard surface energetic bar-scene type of place, by the time we left at 6:30 the place was packed and noise level above comfort. Our entries were delicious, the salad was just some rather wilted greens, the dessert was good, & we were glad that we shared as it was huge! For it's location & food quality I'll go again, but the earlier the better if you don't like crowds & high level noise. Also a Plus is that with theater tickets you receive a 15% discount on food, not wine.
