  • "Had to say the salad and veggie selections were spectacular and highly original which made for a pleasant and totally unexpectedly good experience. Especially as the meat choices we had were good but the selection of meat options for a place called Abattoir and with paintings of dripping side of beef on the wall was surprisingly poor. I managed with the tasty tender but meager rib eye medallion as that was the only one of two choices (other was a braised chuck) that appeaed to me. The table next to us was more cleaver and ordered out from bacchanalia and that was the smart move as no other steaks were to be found. Quelle surprise."

  • "If you can get past the fact that it is called "Abattoir", this is a veg-head's dream! My husband is a full on carnivore. Our first dinner here was for his birthday, when I discovered that their vegetarian selections are just as impressive as the meats. We both absolutely love this place! I do feel like a bit of a traitor, but it's worth it. I've never had anything to eat that was less than amazing. The service is impeccable and the restaurant, itself, is both lively and cozy at the same time."

  • "The cocktails are unique, creative & tasty. Every food item was delicious, temperature appropriate & adequate in portion size. Dessert is a must - chocolate chess pie was dreamy. Our waiter Brian made us feel welcome as we lingered over coffee while waiting to pick up our daughters from a Bat Mitzvah. Thank you - wonderful experience."

  • "We eat here rather frequently, and although the food is always very good, our dinner Friday night was particularly good. Maybe it has something to do with all the new spring produce that is available..we shared an asparagus "noodle" side that was excellent and also creamed beet greens that were equally tasty. We both had the salmon with a brioche polenta which was really great. Although the portion of the salmon was very small, it was satisfactory, as we wanted to experience the sides, as well. Very good dinner.."

  • "Now with the addition on Chef Hector Santiago, this place is even better than before. Chef Leonardo came out to say hi, and he is a very promising raising star in the Atlanta scene. The Ox Heart was surprisingly delicate, and the Sweet Bread was excellent as well. We had the Coconut Tres Leches, and it wasn't too rich, so it was the perfect "adult" desert."

  • "Was a quiet Tuesday evening. The grilled octopus with chorizo and the crab fritter on purried carrots with a wonderful foam of shrimp stock and paprica were both excellent. The grilled ahi tuna was very good and well presented. The sides of sauted mushrooms and sliced very mild tasting radishes were both very good. Good martinis. All in all, a very enjoyable experience with interesting food."

  • "I was not overly impressed. We recently moved to the area and friends highly recommended it. My husband and I went for date night and we were underwhelmed. The food was good but not great and the service was spotty at best. Great environment but not worth the price."

Service was not my style: waiter expressed his opinions too much, especially when he did not like something; he could have expressed more about thoughts of other customers; too talkative; had a smart mouth. No handicap parking. Valet parking not available the evening that we went. A foolish traffic pattern. No spaces or space to get the car and wait for your other guests to come out of the restaurant,"

  • "While we really enjoyed our Valentine's dinner, I was let down by the kitchen service. Our food came slow and even cold in a couple of cases. The server was great, but this was just a hair off of a great dining experience. The Chicharrón were just great. The beet salad was almost as good. It was just the lack of prompt service on the entrees that marred the experience. My fiance's entree came out in pieces (the sides were 3-5 minutes late...each! And my steak was cold and somewhat tasteless. We'll probably give them another try on a non-holiday to see if the service was better."

  • "Abattoir never ceases to please me, I loved it in all its menu incarnations. Love the large space, the ambience, the service and the location in the superb West Provisions. Hector Santiago's current latin touch is a joy too. I had the grilled chicken livers, the butcher's cut with the cauliflower side, and and gulped down the dulce de leche, no way to enjoy that slowly :). I am hoping to see more offal coming back on the menu, but I will take whatever."

  • "While the menu was intriguing, my food did not live up to the description. My husband loved his scallop meal. My eye of rib was requested medium, however the center was rare. With a name like Abattoir, the steak should have been perfect. The butternut squash was amazing, the celery was boring. Service was strong."

  • "Table of four for a birthday dinner. Our server, Maria, took care of us like we were royalty, and was both very knowledgable, and a lot of fun. The food and wine left nothing to be desired; the dinner was one of the best overall food experiences I have had in my many years in Atlanta! Make sure you order one (or two) of the desserts... you won't be disappointed!"

Prices mostly reasonable. The sides, however, were small portions given their cost. Excellent ambience. Decent service."

  • "The eye of rib was wonderful, as were the pomme frites. My friend ordered the trout, one of her favorites at other restaurants around town. After 2 bites, she pronounced it inedible. I tasted her sweet potatoes which were flavorless, although they were listed on the menu as spicy (though, it might have said savory, either way, they were flat). The manager came right over and my friend request the eye of rib. She was very happy with it. For dessert we were given a complimentary serving go the tres leche which had good flavor but the texture was tough. In all, the experience was good. I do intend to return and give Abattoir a second chance to be wonderful.."

The only enjoyable dish was the charred octopus and even that didn't blow me away. The burger was the worst that I had ever had - bun so toasted that it was inedible. Burger meat itself was incredibly dry and tasteless. Very underwhelming! I have no plans or desire to go back or to recommend."

  • "I don't know what it is, but I love this place and so badly want to like it. But each time we go, And those times are few and far between, our experience is simply, just OK. l see the new chefs influence on the menu, which is brought us in, but the food lacks what the Food at his restaurant never lacked which is flavor. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. Service was great and I hope we try it again within the year, but we aren't rushing back."
