This was our second visit in two weeks. We went last Tuesday and took advantage of the half-price wine flights. My wife had a flatbread pizza while I had the seared ahi tuna. They were both delicious. The suggested pairings really enhanced the meal. The only issue we had was the timing regarding the serving of the wine. Not a big issue.

This was our first visit and we will definitely go back. Loved the unique Wine Flight concept and the food (smmall plates & tapas) is very good. The Crab Cakes are among the best in KC. Locally owned and operated which is also nice.

A great place to try some new wines and the food is excellent. However, an expensive wine was replaced on one our flights and we weren't aware until we asked to see the bottle. If we really like a wine we note it and take a picture of the label so that we can buy it later. At $17/glass we really need to know what we are drinking.

This is a great little wine bar that serves tapas like small portion items. Great salads and the flatbreads are awesome. What we enjoyed the most was the wonderful casual pace of our meal. We arrived at 7:20pm and did not leave until after 10pm and we were most appreciative of that. There was no rushing or hurrying to get us out the door and our server was very knowledgable and fantastic. We even met the owner who stop and spent 20 minutes with us.

So many wonderful items from which to choose. Glad there were four of us so we could taste lots of dishes, and look forward to going back. Sometimes the best things in life are in one's own neighborhood, and this is a gem.

We love wine flights!!! This a place we save for special occasions because it helps make it a special experience. Their wine collection and presentation are top notch. If you like wine, wanna try more for a low cost, and or have a wine buff to impress go here! Their lunch menue also has some great options!

It was out first experience at this location. Staff was quite friendly. Since it was New Year's Eve, there was a set menu with wine pairings. Unfortunately, the staff (no fault of their own) was not prepped with main course garnishes and could not tell us what came with each option. The wine pairing for the main course came to our table before our appetizers and salads arrived. They did apologize for the mix up but left the wine on table instead of taking it and bringing it back chilled with main course. We enjoyed out evening though and this location would be a nice place to go to taste different wines and sit out on patio in the warm weather.

We were pleased with the food, music and the staff was friendly and professional. The scallops/caviar was good and I would order it again. The wines served with the different courses enhanced the food selection and made it a unique dining experience. Good prices.

  • New Year's Eve surprise
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 12/31/2011
The food, as usual, was tasty, well-presented, and, in the case of my scallops and caviar, had that little extra flair I have come to expect from this restaurant. The choice of champagnes for the wine flight pleased every one at the table (two flights split three ways and every one of us had two "favorites".) We were a bit surprised by the New Year's Eve prix fixe as that information was not available when we reserved. The food and wine were not quite up to the per-person cost for us as we normally drink less and eat more, but our overall experience was positive. You can bet we will return.

My friends and I had a wonderful evening at Wine Flight Bar and Bistro. We all sampled different wine flights and enjoyed each of the wines. There were perhaps a few too many CA wines with a few from other countries. The appetizer was a little pricey, but the wine flights and tapas dinners were priced about right for the quantity and service. The food was excellent, especially the carrot cake... YUM!

It wasn't particularly busy and there were 3 of us dining; there seemed to be adequate staff and yet service was extremely slow. If you're okay with a long wait, the wine, food and atmosphere is good.

This was our fourth time to Wine Flights. Unfortunately this time things didn't go that well. The waitress indicated that the kitchen was backed up, apparently because there was only one chef. Also several items were not available that were on the menu. It took a long time to get our appetizer and our main courses. The waitress was very apologetic, but she obviously was not at fault. The food itself was very good. Diners' entrees included ahi tuna, pasta, and chicken. I like the deco and atmosphere as well as the food at this restaurant. My hope is that the staffing in the kitchen was just an anomaly this night.

We sat outside on the patio, so I am unfamiliar with the inside of the restaurant. The cheese plate was very average; no outstanding cheese/fruit combinations. We especially enjoyed the flights and the ability to have a sampling of several labels. The menu has an acceptable variety. It took us awhile to decide what to order and which wine should be pair with the meal. The wait staff was attentive and informed us that as the meal is prepared fresh, there would be a wait time for it to reach the table. We ordered wine and appetizers and meal at the same time, noshed on appetizers and relaxed. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

While the Wines were tasty, TO ME, some pours varied... I had the Sea Bass which was very good... The Salad was OK... the Bread & Oil service was not exsistant. Although our waitress was attentive, still lacked in service. My mates Meal was the steak filet and spinach. The Steak was OK and the spinach was not edible at all. Sad part is the restaurant was ok with our comment of displeasure! WOULD I GO BACK? for Lunch only - Maybe...

Overall the food was very good, but the service was extremely slow. Even though there were only a handful of tables and people there, it took an hour and 20 minutes to get our entrees. We ordered a flatbread pizza and a panini, niether of which should have taken very long. Although the wine list was extensive, they did not have very many options for non-alcoholic drinks. Overall, the staff seemed very unsure of what they were doing and were very timid so we didn't complain about how long it took to get our meals. We also had to ask for drinks to be refilled and they reported to open table that we didn't show up. Again, the food and ambiance is amazing and a great atmosphere for a romantic date. Please improve the service.

Food was very good. We especially enjoyed our soups (tomato soup and lobster bisque). Wine flights were excellent and lots to choose from. Prices across the board are very reasonable. Our service could have been better - our waiter did not check up on us very often (we had to ask another employee to grab our soup for us as it seemed to take a LONG time) and when he did he wanted to take things away from us before we were finished. We really enjoyed food selections and wine. Would definitely try it again!

We had a group of 6 on a night when only a few tables were occupied and the manager that night tried to tell us the service was extremely slow because we were a large group on a busy night. Come on. That attitude will drive this great concept to its death. Something needs to change and change quickly. Please you have a great wine list and fascinating food selections. Improve the staff immediately.

Quite a surprising restaurant. I came with a group of 10. Good thing for them because we were the only ones in the restaurant. The waiter and bartender were very nice as well as the owner who personally thanked us for coming. It sits in the middle of a strip mall-- easy to miss. They serve only flights of wine as well as beer. No other alcohol. We had the cheese & meat plate for the appetizers which went over very well. All of the dinners were excellent according to my colleagues. I'd definitely go back.

We brought friends who hadn't eaten at A Wine Flight. They both raved about the food, the wine, and the outdoor dining as we were leaving and suggested that we meet at A Wine Flight again. This was our fifth time so we enjoyed the small changes in the menu. Everything we have eaten here, and all the wine flights we have tried, have been good to very good. Our server was attentive but somewhat overworked as the evening wore on. This is definitely a place to go to talk to friends, not a place for a quick bite for dinner. Expect to have plenty of time to enjoy your dinner and your wine flight.

The idea is great: a large selection of wines by the glass, with good food to go along with it. The downside, from our point of view, is the seating isn't the best (we like booths and larger tables) and the Pinot Noirs were disappointing. (We have a cellar and our Pinot selection is better.) If someone wants to purchase $20 bottles of wine one glass at a time, and doesn't mind small tables set close to each other, this restaurant would be a good choice.
