Diner Reviews
  • "I like coming to this restaurant even though it is on the pricier side. Although many people I know think that the Time Warner Building is a bit sterile, A Voce is definitely not. The food and wine are imaginative and the service is friendly without pretentiousness. Since the food is pricey, I would recommend you get some appetizers to share and a couple of pasta dishes to split as well along with their dessert which is exceptional. The place has a nice decor for considering that it is a very corporate building. I was dressed casual and never felt like I did not belong there nor was I made to feel uncomfortable by the service. All in all it is a good dining experience and I will certainly come back again."

  • "I love this restaurant - it has good food, reasonable portions (not overloaded with food, just enough to be satisfied) and very tasty. Wonderful customer service. My dining companion and I were looking out the window at Central Park and the MADD museum just chatting (we are natives) and the maitre d' came over to ask if he could help us orient ourselves. It was lovely. We did tell him we were natives (I live around the corner) but still a really nice gesture."

  • "Fantastic food. The table service was attentive, friendly but not particularly swift. The bar was very slow - even with a half empty restaurant. It is a very noisy restaurant so don't go for a romantic dinner for two. Fantastic view of Columbus Circle with the right table."

  • "The staff was wonderful--patient, knowledgeable and helpful. We were there for Restaurant Week. We requested a window seat and was right there looking at Central Park. The food was tasty and desert was light and lovely. Wine tasted a bit bubbly, but the bottle had just been opened..."

  • "A friend works at Time Warner and recommended this restaurant. It is very, very good. I hightly recommend it."

  • "The Restaurant Week menu food was delicious. The service was excellent. The noise was quiet untilpeopke were seated at the table for two next to us . The man was very loud and seemed intent that we all hear his conversation. The view of Columbus Circle was lovely."

  • "What would have been a near perfect experience was almost ruined by two very loud groups. One of the groups was celebrating a birthday. I don't begrudge them their celebration, but their loud cackles and flat out hollering throughout their dinner ( and as they drank) should have been dealt with by the staff. It was the worst. I will try this restaurant again and hope to find the noise level more tolerable."

  • "Went for restaurant week. Good food and service. We weren't near the window (most tables near window are for 4 and we were 2) so didn't have full view but still pleasant."

  • "Overall food was good, but somewhat salty. Service was excellent. Great view. Fabric on banquets could use cleaning / replacement."

  • "Good food, not great. Service was over- bearing. Appetizers cam out in 5 min from order, hence prepared. Overall fine, but didn't feel like it was pitched"

  • "Very unwelcoming. I've had more comforting service at lesser restaurants. Not one person working there was accommodating, or comforting. Food ok, not great. Room ok, not great. Service was distant and uncaring. Room, despite what should have been a great setting, was without feel, vibe or nuance. A shame."

  • "This was our second dinner at A Voce and we have been disapointed by the food. Just good, nothing really particular. The service was perfect and the advice of the sommelier particularly good. At the end, 100 $/person was too expensive for our evening and what we had in our plates"

  • "Rien à dire ! Tout était parfait. Nous avons déjeuné dans ce restaurant, accueil et service impeccables, nourriture simple mais excellente, servie rapidement, personnel attentionné. A recommander."

  • "While the dishes here are creative and very good, they are not all terrific. The portions are more suitable for a fixed price, multi-course menu. The view of the park is a definite plus, particularly in the spring. We have eaten here several times and more times at the other A Voce, and we returned this time looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, the evening was marred by an officious, condescending waiter who could not resist commenting on every choice we made as though he were surprised that we had the good taste to order well. In contrast with our meals at Gramercy Tavern and Union Square Cafe on this visit to the city, the experience here was not really pleasant."

  • "I have never been disappointed with the food, service and ambience at this lovely restaurant , as I can walk there too, another plus. Their pasta is spectacular, and the salads are also delicious with lovely light dressings. They have changed the focaccia and whipped ricotta to bread and spiced oil, good but nearly as delicious as the ricotta, but as it a freebie, we can't complain. I highly recommend this restaurant , you will not be disappointed"

  • "This was my second visit. The food was very good both times, but the waiter was snooty the first time. The prices are a little excessive. I got the feeling that most of the diners were tourists. Nice for a special occasion. Tried to seat us at a table in the back room which is definitely not as pleasant as the main dining room where there were plenty of seats. The Branzino was excellent."

  • "And it was amazing! I loved their food so much. We had calamari, mozzarella salad, gnocchi, sea bass, and one more that i dont remember the name. And they were all so good. I would love to go back! I would recommend Dinner than lunch. Oh and moscato d'asti "

  • "Always a delight with impeccable service and delicate food to match the best wine list in NYC. "

  • "Would highly recommend. We live in NYC- and still appreciate the view and atmosphere here. Great food and service as a bonus!"

  • "Given the price and the presentation, I was expecting much more. Most of the food we ordered was fine, but certainly not exceptional in any way. And the scallop dish one of us ordered had only 5, not especially tasty scallops - for $36! I think they could have done better. The service, however, was excellent and the second room where we were seated was not too noisy, making conversation easy, which we appreciated."

  • "If you dine with picky eaters, this is not the place to go, as even the basics are creative. I am picky, so I asked for a few changes. Happily, the chef was very obliging, and I enjoyed the meal. Everyone else in our party was pleased with their selections. The wine list is astounding, the wines we chose were delicious. Service was excellent."

  • "Spoiled only by a few very rude good critics at the table next to us who were so incredibly rude to so many staff The manager should simply have thrown them out. There is no excites for that sort of bevahiour towards courteous helpful staff. It was uncalled for and the absolute height of ingots car. Reviews like that should be made unwelcome to return as their loud, ill mannered behaviours drew the attention of all nearby customers with their blatant disregard for treating the staff as badly as they did. Batting them away from the table and grabbing at them while at all times avoiding polite eye contact and conversation. "

  • "We visited A Voce at Columbus Circle for an early, pre-opera dinner. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, and we were lucky enough to have a great view from our table. The view included a rare rainbow over Manhattan, so we give the restaurant special credit. Our main courses of hanger steak and duck were prepared and presented very well. Service was excellent and fast, without seeming rushed. A slight discrepancy in our bill was corrected immediately, with sincere apologies."

  • "See below. You are asking too much! This is too much, and it is the last time I reply to one of your G-D tiresome surveys. Why have you suddenly made them so long???"

  • "A Voce was wonderful as always. There were four of us for dinner, and all thoroughly enjoyed it. For appetizers, the stuffed zucchini blossoms are wonderful. My favorite entree is the duck, which was done perfectly, in the French style. Although very pricey, it is reserved for special occasions, but worth it as a nice treat. The service is very attentive, and polite. If you can get a table by the window, the view of Columbus Circle and the park is great, especially at dusk. "

  • " A Price Fixe,we normally don't do theses. Our party of 7 was brought to a private room for our Easter Brunch.A wine gallery and lush decor we were all smiles. The wait staff were quiet, not friendly, but they got the job done. Cocktails were perfection. Amazing warm bread served with ricotta and spiced oils to start. We all had Barratina for an appetizer. The barratta was delicious, smooth and creamy sitting a top of roasted peppers. The tastes of garnish melded together for a wonderful experience. Each course was fabulous.Every plate looked and tasted like a work of art. Flavorful and beyond! The Tiramisu like no other we have ever had! A Voce is a true 5-star restaurant, Do not miss this place! "

  • "I have had Lunch or Brunch 4 times in this restaurant, 3 times within the last 10 days. I rarely give 5 stars, but was tempted in this case. The food is consistently good, even on busy days. I had Easter Brunch there with my son and was not disappointed. The staff is courteous without being disruptive. It is a restaurant I will recommend without hesitation to anybody. "

  • "My family had a fantastic Easter dinner at A Voce! It was a beautiful day so the view of Central Park was breathtaking. The menu had great choices and everything we had was thoroughly enjoyed. The service was wonderful and I would highly recommend the restaurant to others."

  • "We recently had a wonderful meal here. Service was top notch, with only a minor exception being a little slow service with the wine (the wine that was recommended was terrific, however). A Voce has wonderful ambiance - try to get a seat by the windows and you will have a beautiful view of Columbus Circle. The Italian food was amazing here. Highly recommended."

  • "This is our second meal there -- last was lunch, this time Friday night dinner. Wonderful menu. Great atmosphere. Kind and attentive staff. Deserves its Michelin star!"

  • "The service is great. The view is great. The complimentary bread and ricotta spread is great. But the seafood entry portions are incredibly small. Really nothing spectacular. I would want to drop the same money on landmark across the mall, instead of here"

  • "Decor is outdated and waiter forgot my drink and our tables food. He actually asked who took out order. After waiting for about an hour we finally got our meal and one of the dishes were incorrect. Had to send it back and wait for them to prepare a new dish. Also the decor is very outdated. I was expecting something much different from this place. The food is excellent I have to say, but this is manhattan and there a plenty places that serve good food and have much better service. This was a business lunch and I was taking out clients. Will choose another place next time. "

  • "Negatives: Wine selection by the glass has no Merlot, which I drink, and also asked for the last time I was there and waitress had never heard of Merlot. $7.00 vegetable hors d'oeuvre are great but are hidden on menu and not encouraged by waitress. Bread basket had no fresh whole wheat rolls, only tasteless white ones. Our tab for two of us with only one glass of wine each and one dessert which we shared was $150.00. I made reservations since it's always difficult to get a table on a weekday night but there were many walk ins. Positives: the two fish courses we had were wonderful!"

  • "Everything about this excellent restaurant is very good (including the service, the design and the view). But by far the main attraction is the superb food. Tuna appetizer and gnocchi were outstanding. Bronzino main course was very good."

  • "The freshly made ricotta is not to be missed! It is smooth, flavorful and delicious. I had the scallops- beautifully served and perfectly seasoned. My husband had an appetizer of burrata- Yumm. The focaccia was perfect! The wine list and the sommelier are well informed and comprehensive. What's not to like?! The Michelin rosette is well earned and well deserved."

  • "been here many times - always good tonight no exception: my bronzino was very tasty and piquant, and Andrew snarfed up his cod dish in minutes our server tonight, Florin, was very attentive without being pushy - big points for us we'll be back for more, since we are Met Opera, NYPhil, and Carnegie Hall subscribers"

  • "We had a great meal staff was very good and friendly. The only disappointment is not getting a table near the window as requested. I got a poor excuse for not having it available."
