On my way out, after my previous vist to A Voce several months ago I said to myself, I' not coming back here. Service back then was terrible and food was less than Ok. I received a last minute invitation from a friend this past weekend to go to A Voce...I could not believe the changes made. Excellent food is on the menu and Service was OUTSTANDING. A Voce is back to my list of must go places.

Voce does not live up to Michelin star status. Appetitizer among the most expensive per bite among its class but like sophistication. Service is attentive, but noting remarkable. Nice view over Columbus circle and convenient location though. As many people pointed out here, noise level is high, and space is a bit too small.

A Voce never disappoints: food is top-notch, all ingredients are fresh and the wine list is impressive. Valerio, the manager, always keeps an attentive eye on the whole room and makes sure that the staff is keeping the perfect balance between closely assisting you and giving you some privacy. Always an excellent choice both for business dinners and romantic dates.

  • A little rushed during dinner?

A Voce is one of my favorite restaurants on the UWS. I like to take colleagues and clients here for swanky lunches, after work drinks and dinner. Each time I have ordered the chicken mattone, it has been perfect--crispy, nicely browned skin and tender, juicy meat. Last night, I think the plate may have sat too long so that when it was delivered to the table, the skin was soggy. I kind of overlooked this, since it's nearly perfect all the other times, but this particular night, I sold my colleague on the chicken and i'm not sure she thought it was "all that." Will try again soon! Thank you.

Really great consistent food. Each course delivered and sensible price (for NYC). So why not amazing? Normally at restaurants of this caliber there will be a stand out dish that really hits the spot. Maybe its our choices but on this occasion it was missing.

Booked this restaurant after reviewing many others on Trip Advisor. I was in NYC to celebrate my 50th birthday and everything about this experince was outstanding. The staff were extremely attentive, the food was fantastic, wine list was extensive and the view of Central Park was perfect. I hope I have the opportunity to return and would recommened that if you want a special place to go for dinner this should be your choice of restaurants.

We have dined there several times both for lunch and dinner. The service and food have been outstanding on every occasion. The food is outstanding Italian food, not heavily reliant on pasta and garlic as one often finds, but carefully and tastefully prepared. We have eaten the branzini and the salmon several times; they have always been excellent and prepared to individual cooking requests. Side dishes such as fried zucchini are outstanding. There is a good family atmosphere with children, yet not raucous or excessively loud, generally quiet. Outstanding view across Columbus Circle to Central Park.

It is not a restaurant I would go back for to eat good Italian food. I was happy with the appetizers but my pasta dish with the tomato and lobster was just too garlicky. I ordered a well done steak and an over cooked meat came out. I could no longer taste the seasoning. Ambiance is good for groups that like to people watch and still have a nice view of Columbus Circle and part of Central Park. The reception area was accommodating in our seating request. This is a more ambiance type of place rather than of good food.

My lesson is never order the full price menu when prix fixe is available. I did and was so disappointed my dining companion had the same order for entree as i did but i paid twice the price plus she had dessert and starter. Waitress not interested when i asked why. I was hungry when i left. Assumed full price order would have been more substantial.

The food is good, but nothing to rave about or to leave memorable impressions. Portion sizes - especially for entrees - are really small, which essentially forces you to buy appetizers, sides and desserts if you don't want to leave the place hungry. In hindsight, I would have rather spent the money on a dinner at Del Posto or Babbo, which are far better choices for fine Italian dining in NYC, in my humble opinion.

Dinner here was a mixed bag. Great view if you can get a table right by the window otherwise a kind of cold corporate interior. Kind of Vegas like- a veneer of sophistication in the TW center which is a glossy mall. The food was delicious and was served very fast. Our cocktails were interrupted by exhortations to pour the wind because the food was coming. The wine was a total hustle. We and every table around us were offered the "opportunity" to drink from the large format bottles which we accepted, we were then exhorted to order the half bottle which seemed shirt when the carafe arrived. A cheeky brunello the cost for a half bottle was 100.00 a marvelously round number that let me know I had been had. Servers were too much present. Away

I was expecting good things having dined at the downtown A Voce years ago, and unfortunately I was very disappointed. The service was pleasant but slow and inattentive. We appeared to not really have a waiter assigned to us - they kept switching around and none of them were keeping watch on the table. The food was also incredibly underwhelming - the burratina I had lacked depth and flavor (weak olive oil, no salt) and my ammatriciana pasta dish was almost sweet, with none of the spice usually associated with the dish, almost non-existent pancetta and no developed flavor. And despite the fact that this is NOT by any means a cheap meal, the waitstaff were continually trying to "upsell" us on wine, sides and digestives in the most tacky way.

The food was innovative, delicious, and beautifully presented. The décor was modern and handsome. Unfortunately the noise level was so high that it was almost painful to be there. There was nothing to absorb the sound, not even tablecloths. Unlike some restaurants where one experiences a general overall din, here you could even hear details of conversations at tables 10 feet away. It is very disappointing because the food would have brought me back if the noise level had been tolerable.

    O. M. G. We started with the hamachi crudo and learned what perfection tastes like. The ravioli contained an abundance of flavors. Our fish (the red snapper and branzino) were perfectly cooked and paired perfectly with the veggies they were plated with. Our dessert was the perfect finish to the meal. I missed the pot of ricotta they have served with bread in the past but the pesto this time was spectacular. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous and chose the perfect glass of wine to complement each course. There's a reason I've been here multiple times over the years and I look forward to my next visit.

I always take advantage of A Voce's special menu for Restaurant Week, since it is such a great value. The food is high quality (although not as flavor-layered as when Missy Robbins was the chef) and not a slap-dash rendering of boring dishes (as in some participating restaurants). The pastas are lovely here, and there was a choice of chitarra with mussels in a saffron sauce. Very satisfying. I also was happy with a pureed pea soup - so summery fresh-tasting. Desserts are always good; this time a riff on tiramisu (with strawberries). There are also featured wines at special prices. Add to that, a beautiful view and good service. To me, this is a win/win.
