Diner Reviews
  • "This is our second meal there -- last was lunch, this time Friday night dinner. Wonderful menu. Great atmosphere. Kind and attentive staff. Deserves its Michelin star!"

  • "The service is great. The view is great. The complimentary bread and ricotta spread is great. But the seafood entry portions are incredibly small. Really nothing spectacular. I would want to drop the same money on landmark across the mall, instead of here"

  • "Go when Truffles are in season you will not be disapointed."

  • "This is a must for any foodie. Amazing food and wine and what an amazing view. I'd eat here every night of the week if I could!"

  • "Decor is outdated and waiter forgot my drink and our tables food. He actually asked who took out order. After waiting for about an hour we finally got our meal and one of the dishes were incorrect. Had to send it back and wait for them to prepare a new dish. Also the decor is very outdated. I was expecting something much different from this place. The food is excellent I have to say, but this is manhattan and there a plenty places that serve good food and have much better service. This was a business lunch and I was taking out clients. Will choose another place next time. "

  • "Negatives: Wine selection by the glass has no Merlot, which I drink, and also asked for the last time I was there and waitress had never heard of Merlot. $7.00 vegetable hors d'oeuvre are great but are hidden on menu and not encouraged by waitress. Bread basket had no fresh whole wheat rolls, only tasteless white ones. Our tab for two of us with only one glass of wine each and one dessert which we shared was $150.00. I made reservations since it's always difficult to get a table on a weekday night but there were many walk ins. Positives: the two fish courses we had were wonderful!"

  • "Everything about this excellent restaurant is very good (including the service, the design and the view). But by far the main attraction is the superb food. Tuna appetizer and gnocchi were outstanding. Bronzino main course was very good."

  • "The freshly made ricotta is not to be missed! It is smooth, flavorful and delicious. I had the scallops- beautifully served and perfectly seasoned. My husband had an appetizer of burrata- Yumm. The focaccia was perfect! The wine list and the sommelier are well informed and comprehensive. What's not to like?! The Michelin rosette is well earned and well deserved."

  • "We had a great meal staff was very good and friendly. The only disappointment is not getting a table near the window as requested. I got a poor excuse for not having it available."

  • "This place is a gem! We booked a pre-concert dinner at 7:15 & fell in love. The food is excellent, the wine list is extensive & the food would could cost way more at Marea or Lincoln. There is a stunning view of Central Park & Columbus Circle to boot. The staff was sweet, warm & knowledgeable."

  • "been here many times - always good tonight no exception: my bronzino was very tasty and piquant, and Andrew snarfed up his cod dish in minutes our server tonight, Florin, was very attentive without being pushy - big points for us we'll be back for more, since we are Met Opera, NYPhil, and Carnegie Hall subscribers"

  • "I want to thank the staff at A Voce for providing my wife and I a perfect 5 year anniversary. We heard great things but we were blown away on so many levels. The food was worthy of a Michelin star. The service from start to finish was superb & unobtrusive. The view was breathtaking. I did not ask for a view but the maitre'd was kind enough to place us at a romantic corner table with a beautiful park view. A Voce we will be back soon."

  • "My partner and I dine at A Voce regularly, and we have always had a superb experience here. From the attentive service to the delicious cuisine and wine list that has some real gems at incredibly fair prices, A Voce is well worth a visit."

  • "Food very mediocre--and the furnishings in the dining room are really tatty. View remains spectacular."

  • "Rarely do I go online to make a dinner reservation but did this time when looking for a restaurant with above average food with a nice atmosphere which would satisfy a customer and my daughter who would also be joining me . This was my second visit here . I requested a table by the window and I was pleasantly surprised that my online request was honored . We probably had one of the best tables in the house . We sat down a little after 6pm so there was plenty of light for us to capture a beautiful view of Central Park . The service and food were excellent . The restaurant was quite enough for all of us to enjoy our meal and conversation."

  • "I have eaten at the sister restaurant (also A Voce) off Madison Avenue, but this venue is clearly a step up. The food / menu was very good as with sister, but the view of Columbus Circle was really nice. More spacious and open. Service was first class. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience as did my guests."

  • "This was our first visit. Very reasonable prix fix menu. Generous portions of burrata for first course, delicious main course. Shared tiramisu--fantastic. All was terrific; view of Columbus Circle lovely. We will definitely go back."

  • "We were in NYC for our first anniversary/honeymoon. 03/30/14 was the day of our anniversary and A Voce was recommended as an intimate and romantic venue. It was both of those things and also reasonably priced. Our very attentive and lovely waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and wines on offer and went out of his way to make the experience special. The food was delicious - you must try the lime and basil sorbet - and the views of the park are spectacular."

  • "I brought friends from out of state to A Voce. This is their first time at a high end restaurant in Manhattan. They love the food, the view of Central Park, and the interior of the restaurant. I love the food and the service. Can't wait to go back for another delicious meal. H m."

  • ".good food but the restaurant was uncomfortably cold ,resulting in the the pasta primi cooling very rapidly .Staff were great ,allowed us to move tables and offered to replace cold food -but other guests were dining in their coats ! I would advise turning down the aircon ."

  • "It's a rare gem in New York to find a restaurant that offers both outstanding food and service. I went to A Voce with my boyfriend the night before my birthday and even though neither of us mentioned this, they had figured out that it was my birthday and brought us a dessert with a single candle at the end of our meal!"

  • "Arrived to a busy and bustling scene, but were seated at our reservation time. Beautiful views of Columbus Circle, attentive and helpful service. Our server was especially helpful with the wine list. Had a delicious steak special, and cod. Loved the steak, the cod had a smoky taste, that didn't appeal. Overall, a lovely place I would happily go back to."

  • "A good evening but not particularly special. One negative ~ when we arrive we were hungry and wanted to order appetizers before deciding on dinner. We were told we have to make our decision all at one as the chef requires receiving the complete order at once. Enough of a reason for me to not go back."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "Fabulous view, can't make up for ridiculously tiny portions. I thought I had ordered a tasting menu, but guess what, I hadn't. Too pricey."

  • "I've had the wonderful opportunity to eat at A Voce several times and it just keeps getting better and better. The service is the right blend of warmth and professionalism. Our server was so much fun and yet he anticipated our needs. The food is consistently delicious. Everyone at our table shared bites of their selections and we loved it all. The sommelier was so friendly and you could see he loves his job. I can't wait to come back."

  • "Moderately expensive; however every dish was exceedingly well-prepared, and served with great attention to doneness, combinations of surprising flavors and textures. Portions not large, but we didn't have that many dishes, and left quite full. We (3) had salmone crudo, dumplings with eggplant stuffing, green pasta with cabbage, mushrooms and fontina, baccala in a smoky sauce, polenta, brussels sprouts, and a seared scallop dish. Dessert was also exemplary and memorable, as were teas. Service attentive, respectful yet unobtrusive throughout."

  • "This is a high end Italian restaurant carefully prepared and presented with skill. The view at a window table is superb and especially suited for out-of-town visitors. A warm welcome and attentive service is part of the charm."
    Dined on 3/18/2014
  • "Overall experience was good. Forgot that our reservation was actually 30 minutes later, but the hosts managed to seat us anyway. Waiter was really trying to sell the big bottle of red wine (probably my least favorite moment). The pork rack was delicious and my other guests enjoyed the dishes they ordered too. My only complaint would be that I had requested a table with a window and I made the request well in advance. I think the restaurant could have been more accommodating. Especially since I made it a point to tell them it was for a special occasion. I would have waited for the table I requested, however, noone even mentioned it."

  • "Really fine food and very good wine list, especially for Italian wines. My wife and I, an older couple, like a small meal before an evening performance. A Voce fits the bill perfectly. Menu a la carte, so you can order just what you want, and the food is exceptionally good. We had dinner there a while back. Food and wine were great, but the noise level on a Saturday night about 8pm was pretty high, but no so high as to interfere significantly with conversation."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "fine food ,service and ambiance. Noise level was uncomfortable. It is alwayss upsetting when you have such a fine place and you can't hear your companions conversation because of the din!"
    Dined on 3/10/2014
  • "If you do, then A Voce is for you! My wife and I ordered two glasses of wine before dinner and when they arrived we realized the wine was warm. When we told the waiter he said there was nothing he could do because the temperature in the restaurant was 75 degrees. The only way we could get properly chilled wine was if we ordered a bottle. How 'bout that? So we were essentially forced to buy a bottle of wine although we didn't want one (and certainly didn't finish it). I've never encountered that issue before and was pretty surprised the restaurant operated as if this was business as usual."

  • "I had a great time at A Voce. I had lunch and I had never been to that restaurant before. I choose to go to this restaurant because it was on the Restaurant Week list. Service was good. Food was great. Loved the bread that they give out. So soft, airy and light. The restaurant was a little bit noisy for my ears but it didn't ruin the mood or my dining experience. The view of Columbus Circle and Central Park was extraordinary. Nice waiters and waitresses. My only critique I would have is that I didn't expect a Jack & Coke to cost 14 dollars. But overall I had a good meal."

  • "First time there, thanks to my wife. Beautiful presentations. Matched by the food. Not busy at all this past Monday. Too pricey to get touristy. The view is lovely. Go and see."

  • "Wonderful place to grab a lunch near central park."

  • "Restaurant Week lunch at A Voce is consistently satisfying (not true of many prix fixe special menus elsewhere). Appetizers are interesting: we had veal carpaccio and pureed cauliflower soup. Entrees were ravioli (very light, sophisticated and delicious) and filet of dorade (also very tasty). I don't normally eat dessert, but both the tiramisu (artistically presented and fabulous) and sorbet were quite scrumptious and not overly sweet. Not only do they discount the food, but also offer 2 wine choices at a special price. The service is good, as well as the ambiance. To me, a bargain isn't a bargain if I wouldn't want to experience it at regular prices. This is a steal."

  • "This is a great place to dine for outstanding food with a casual ambience that is not too noisy (no table clothes). We adored the ligt foccacia bread that we topped with whipped ricotta cheese seasoned with cayenne, oit and mint leaves. I plan to copy this at home for company.Burratina with roasted red peppers was also a treat that I never had anywhere else. And, the buccala was cooked to perfection."

  • "The best authentic Italian food in NYC! Nouveau rustic Italian cuisine presented beautifully and the service was outstanding! Can't wait to go back for dinner! The chef is really from Italy (as in dual citenzenship) and that makes a huge difference in the quality of the food!"

  • "Extremely rude maitre'd! We were welcomed by " Yes? What is it?" half of my sister's food was taken away before she was done. It was so swift that she couldn't even say she's not done. Food was so underwhelming that I fail to see why anyone would go back."
