We just celebrated our wedding anniversary here and we were quite disappointed! We had been here before and had liked the food, but this time round, everything had taken a turn for the worse. My wife and I didn't like either our appetisers or our entres. My wife passed on the dessert, and my house made ice cream was almost tasteless! Huge disappointment.

This restaurant is the best in union county. The food is local, fresh and creative. Our server was fantastic. Very friendly and engaging. You need to experience it. On the weekends it is very hard to get a reservation. We happened. to go on a Tuesday night with no problem

Although the entrees weren't as good as everything else, this is still a great place. Feels like I was eating in NYC, not Cranford. And that is meant to be a compliment.

I've eaten here several times, but last Saturday (10/11/14) was a real let down. The food was not especially good and the portions were very small at these prices. $34 got me 4 scallops. They were just ok and definitely not very filling. The scallops were served in a sauce in a cauliflower-leek puree and with seared onion agrodolce. Also, very sparse and not very flavorful. The October Mussels were highly recommended, but were bland and the mussels were tiny. A real let down for a place I used to look forward to going to.

A Toute Heure is a real gem. The service is fabulous! The waitress really loves food and working there. She describes and explains everything with such enthusiasm that just listening to her is fun and makes your mouth water. The food (I had the goat dish) was amazing, the meat melted in my mouth and the flavor was wonderful. The chef is doing an amazing job. Thanks for a great dinner experience.

  • Great Farm to Table Restaurant

A Toute Heure is a wonderful restauarant. The food is absolutely delicious. I like that the restaurant uses local farm foods and changes the menu with the seasons. The staff is also very friendly and not pushy. My only complaint is that the price of the food has increased dramatically over the past few years. I consider ATH a neighborhood restaurant, but the prices are "big city." The price increase has resulting in me having to frequent the restaurant less often and I no longer go there for dinner. The food is excellent, but there are other local restaurants with prices slightly lower with similar quality.

I almost hate to give a good review because this place is so special, that we don't want to make it harder to get a reservation. We had dinner there on 9/12 and again on 9/24 for our anniversary. The food was amazing both times. If you are looking for farm to table quality, with innovative menu design, and superbly prepared food, then this is the place to go.

I made my res on open table and casually mentioned my wife has a gluten allergy. They had a gluten free menu ready for her when we sat down. The scallop tartar app was amazing; melted in my mouth. We shared 1/2 dozen oysters - no grit at all. For my entree I had the pork shoulder. It was cooked perfectly and served with pomme purée and a sauerkraut, which I don't usually like, but it all worked really well. We love this place and try to go as often as we can!

Our meal was amazing. Food was excellent, staff was friendly, informative and helpful. In particular the chickpea cake was so delicious and the fresh beans and tomatoes served with it were the best I've ever had. The entree of sea scallops was done to perfection. My husband had the crusted Mahi Mahi and he savored every bite. Surprisingly, the only disappointment was the dessert. We both had the berry toffe cake which we found dry and tasteless, although the homemade ice cream it came with was very nice. I would definitely recommend A Tout Heure!

As a thank you, I invited two friends for dinner who had supported me when I needed them. The food was excellent. We each had something different (scallops, chicken, mussels) and each was very pleased with her meal. Desert was a fruit cake with ice cream that was very good. Service was exceptional. My one friend was having a gall bladder issue and wanted to be careful about what she ate and what was used to cook it. Our waitress, Jean, with the cooperation of the Chef, made sure that everything was prepared exactly right! A toute here is a very special place

Everything was excellent from the mussels appetizer to the scallops and "chicken" entrees to the toffee cake dessert. We got extra dipping bread for the mussels sauce, which was quite useful as the scallops entree is not meant for a big eater. A couple of extra scallops would be appreciated. The wait staff are particularly well-trained and helpful. It's a small, cozy restaurant so the noise level can be a bit loud at times, depending on the clientele dining at the time. It's a tough reservation to get on a Saturday night, but it was well worth the effort.

2nd time here. First time I thought it was amazing. This time not so much. It took more than 2 hours to get our food and by the time it arrived I was no longer hungry. Everyone around us who came later than we did had their meals ahead of us. I mentioned that fact to the server and she just ignored me. For this level of restaurant and the prices, it was unacceptable. I thought the food was great but not fantastic like it was the first time we went. Disappointed.

This is unquestionably the cutest and perhaps the most romantic restaurant in all of Cranford, NJ. The atmosphere is exceptionally terrific, the staff is friendly and the clientele refined without being stuffy. The food is good with some dishes being better than average. However, I routinely have more satisfying meals for half if not a third of the price, albeit in places not nearly as pretty. That being said, you are definitely paying for the ambiance here folks and in that respect, you will get your money's worth. But, at about 100 bucks for two NOT including drinks OR desert... that is a pretty steep price to pay for a meal that will leave you wondering... I just paid 100 bucks for that?!?
