Diner Reviews
  • "Field Peas? Not a vegie that I am dreaming about having for my next meal, but obviously one they thought highly of this evening. They were plentiful, but didn't go over well. This location has a nice vibe, but I dine out for the food. This visit wasn't up to anything but average."

  • "We had a party of 7 and service was great! We had a variety of menu items including the short rib, tenderloin, sirloin, grilled cheese, and burger. All were great, but the appetizers stole the show! We had house-made ricotta, deviled blue crab, and the chorizo scotch egg. The scotch eggs were definitely my favorite part of the meal. For dessert we had the chocolate malt, creme caramel, corn cake, and peach cobbler - with the corn cake being agreed upon as the favorite. It was a fabulous meal."

  • "The Pinot Gris was served a bit warm. I like it pretty cold. The Scottish eggs were very good and I was expecting the special of the day Grouper fish to be just as tasty. It was over cooked. The puree of peppers with almonds was flavorful but not enough of the puree to dip the dry fish into. We had the 6 sampler of ice cream and it was refreshing, especially the watermelon. Our server was great."

  • "A very good place for a diverse bar and unusual food options that are well executed."

  • "We have been dining regularly at AF&B since they opened the doors. The food is local, rustic, and delicious. Get away from your go-to drink and sample the handcrafted cocktails and small batch brews. You will not be disappointed with the food, drinks, service or atmosphere."

  • "Try the short rib! Amazing. (Cuts with a spoon) The Fitzgerald. Amazing. (Real cherry! Imported!) Breakfast martini. Amazing. (Not just for breakfast!) Moscow mule. Amazing. (Homemade ginger beer) Peach cobbler. Amazing. Wait staff & bartenders. Amazing! (Especially when I ordered all the most complicated items!!!!)"

  • "The sandwiches and burgers looked amazing. Everyone I was with was happy with their food. I chose the chicken salad and was underwhelmed. I've had better from fast food. Definitely not worth $15. But, the wine was good, if pricey, and the atmosphere is wonderful. I will try it again and choose something different from the menu."

  • "Dined on a Sunday evening - very quiet with only a handful of other diners. Our meals looked and tasted great. Our server, Bryan (sp?) was knowledgeable (re menu items) and prompt in his service. The tab was quite pricey after 2 beers and 2 wines were added in (to be expected....damn that costly booze!). We thoroughly enjoyed our overall dining experience at AF+B and will definitely return."

  • "Our Third time to return for a meal. Each time has been as good as the last with knowledgeable, friendly service (special shout-out to Andy... superb service!). Creative, seasonal menu that has a point of view not found in many restaurants. I will be back for more!"

  • "Super service, menu, food quality, and atmosphere. Best dining experience we've had in Fort Worth this year. We'll be back!"

  • "As usual, A F +B delivers on all fronts! From the lamb tartare appetitizer to the pan-grilled grouper, our dinner was fantastic. Topped off with the ice cream/sherbet sampler and peach cobbler, the entire evening was perfect."

  • "AF&B is a good restaurant, just nothing to stand out in a ton of better restaurants in the trendy W. 7th area. The interior is rather blasé. The service is good, not great. The wine list is short on buy-the-glass offerings. The food is the bright light. We had the rabbit pot pie, and a braised beef short rib on some really good cheese grits. However AF&B is pricey, for a couple glasses of Schramsburg Sparkling Chardonnay, 2 entrees and 2 glasses of Copain Syrah, we were tapped for $120 without tip. Not a good price to value ratio."

  • "Phonte was very attentive without being in our faces too much. We requested the back room for a quieter area so my guest and I could talk easily. Phonte was concientious of the fact that we were having a detailed, lengthy conversation and managed our table appropriately. The food was delicious, starting with the beet hummus. I hope that stays on the menu indefinitely. I've had dinner there serveral times and don't recall it being on the menu before, but I may have overlooked it. The kale salad was outstanding, too."

  • "The first of thing that we noticed was the awesome customer service at the door and it continue through the evening. We were celebrating birthdays and we had so much fun. Food was wonderful, especially the french fries that we had 3 orders of. We just could not help ourselves. Our group will definitely be back!!"

  • "This is a very fun restaurant. We started out with the Scotch Eggs and the Ricotta spread and the Beet Hummus. Both were awesome. I had the Red Snapper and my friends had The Lamb Saddle and the Burger. All the food was fine but there was a lag between appetizers and main entrée. The server was GREAT and we had a very good time."

  • "Every item we ordered was fresh, extremely tasty and unique. Service and preparation was first rate. We have never tasted any of these items elsewhere and liked the variety of choices. I wasn't sure how some items would turn out since they were so unique but was pleasantly surprised at all the different flavors complementing each dish and appetizer. Kudos to Chef Christian."

  • "The food and service was great, I wasn't a fan of either of the desserts we tried, one was a cornbread/corn ice cream thing and the other was peach cobbler which just consisted of a very good fruit mix that was topped with four biscuits, the biscuits were too thick for it to be cobbler. We tried the egg appetizer, the salmon, the pork chop, the fried chicken, a side of mac & cheese, two different cocktails, and two glasses of wine. This with the dessert set us back about $200ish with tip. We were very happy with the food, but it is overpriced. I imagine this is because of their location in the trendy West 7th district. The atmosphere is casual and I am sure we will go back, just not when we are as hungry or thirsty..."

  • "Wonderful food, service, cocktails, atmosphere. Good list of wine by the glass. I LOVED the spring vegetable and barley salad, and my gin cocktail called Fitzgerald. He liked the fried fish sandwich. We'll be back."

  • "As always, AFB delivers excellent food and service. We don't feel like we come here that regularly, but somehow the staff remembers us and our certain requests, which is amazing.. Our kids can't get enough of their mac n cheese and braised greens. We love the blackened snapper and various beef options. Always a great time there. Highly recommended if you have never been."

  • "Always love coming here to see what new creations this great farm to table restaurant is offering. Along with the always great fries, with home made ketchup, we had the smoked turkey sandwich, and for dessert, corn ice cream, with blueberry lemon curd corn cake. It was ll to die for!"

  • "But the service was extremely slow. We waited over an hour before our food came out. She apologized before hand (our server was nice but her hands were tied because of a problem in the kitchen) and provided us a free app. When we asked again for our scotched eggs (we wanted to eat it while we were waiting) she said that they would also be on the house (and it came out with our meal). The main problem was the wait. The second was that since they rushed my chicken it was partially raw inside. We were treating my in-laws for Father's Day lunch and we were really embarrassed to take them there."

  • "AF&B has become a go-to spot for great food. The food here is amazing. We have yet to find anything on the menu that was not worthy of being a signature dish. This particular evening was very busy with several large groups and the wait staff was busy. Our only real complaint was our server was a bit cold and really didn't warm up until dessert. Not sure if he was just very busy or just a more straight laced personality. In the end it doesn't change my desire to return and eat here again."

  • "You have to try the Scotch Eggs. They are amazing. Everything was very very good and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Great service."

  • "The food and service was very good. They had a different take on traditional dishes. Our waiter, Brian, was very helpful and knowledgeable."

  • "Very trendy new "hot spot". Atmosphere is fun and hip, and service is exceptional. Food: a little underwhelming. We definitely enjoyed everything we had, but nothing truly amazing. Cocktails were however, wonderful. Think we just had higher expectations from all the hype and buzz. Glad we went to try it, but not sure the quality-to-value ratio will warrant a repeat trip."

  • "It was a delightful first visit. Of the four entrees ordered at our table, the pork chop was the best - absolutely superb. The duck potpie and the salmon were delicious. The short ribs had a great flavor but were a tad greasy. But the grits and hominy that accompanied the ribs were wonderful. The service was beyond good! Thanks for a great dining experience."

  • "We went early to experience their happy hour in the bar area. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful & so knowledgeable not only about the food but also all of the wine, cocktails & beer available. Made us feel very welcome. Next we moved on to the dining area where our server gave us great suggestions for our appetizers & our entrees. We have been here before & each time the experience just gets better. We will be going back. "

  • "From opening week...AF&B has been our favorite and it still has many great qualities, but it seems to have hit a slump in the last few weeks. We are hopeful that this will be corrected and that we can again count on delicious food and dependable service. Bar service seems to be problematic...it takes WAY too long to be served a drink in the dining room and servers are not very familiar with available wines and spirits."

  • "We walked in and they said Happy Birthday by name to the birthday person. Waiter and host were especially good. "

  • "Our reservation was for 8:30. We arrived early to have a drink at the bar. The hostess' said they could seat us immediately if we wanted or proceed to the bar which we did. One of the hostess' came to get us when our reservation time was near. My husband and I had been there twice before but only for drinks. This time we had dinner. I had the fried chicken which was very good, not very greasy. It came with 4 nice size pieces and I took 2 pieces home. My husband had the saddle lamb and he said it was good. Not what he is use to but said it was also from a different cut of the lamb. We look forward to going back, perhaps for lunch to try the Grouper sandwich; which we both considered ordering."

  • "AF+B is wonderful. The food is inventive and new. I would prefer a few more "regular" type options. Their fried chicken is amazing; as is the jalopeno oil to dip it in. The waitstaff is VERY attentive and everyone that works there makes you feel special. I would definitely recommend this place."

  • "We dined with some friends from out of town and the service and ambiance was all you could ask for - fun, active, and perfectly attentive. We started with scotch eggs and oysters. The table was split on the eggs (some calling them amazing while I thought they were amazingly bland- way under salted) the oysters were very good and the lemon ice and vinegar sauce is fantastic. all of us had some form of steak (just coincidence) and it was amazingly tender and flavored well. It comes out pre cut and I guess that would be the only real negative from the dinner. The greens were outstanding (if they added a little heat they would be award worthy), the beet salad was also praise worthy, with the other vegetable sides we had being very good also. "

  • "AF&B sits in the middle of a vibrant area surrounded by some of the best food in Fort Worth. What makes it stand out above the rest is the attention to the details. The food is excellent and the beer and wine list is better than most. The service is where they shine. Each time I've eaten here I have felt as if my table was the most important table in the place. The staff is attentive without being overbearing. The waitstaff is knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful. It's this combination of great food and great service that makes AF&B my favorite place to dine in the Fort Worth area. "
