90 Miles Cuban CafeIt's like taking a vacation! It was a good friend's birthday, and she had been talking about a trip to the Caribbean. We didn't make our travel plans in time, so I made reservations at 90 Miles. Our group had a fantastic time! The food was perfect, service attentive, and the ambience made us all feel like we were on vacation in our own backyard. Thanks for making it a perfect birthday celebration!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMchicago getawayWe saw this on DDD And decided to try it out. Great choice. Love dining at local, authentic food handouts. Definitly will go back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHOT!!!TOOK MY BEST FRIEND TO DINNER FOR HIS BIRTHDAY, HE'S NEVER BEING HERE AND HE LOVED IT. THE FOOD, THE SERVICE AND THE AMBIENCE WAS GREAT.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFun-filled atmosphere, great foodWe really enjoyed this restaurant. A real change of pace. Fun atmosphere. Great staff! Delicious cuisine!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AM90 miles to authentic cuban foodMy husband made the comment that the food is just like his mom makes. You should definitely arrive early for parking, most of the surrounding area is tow zone or permit parking only. 90 miles to Cuba is extremely busy on the weekends, and reservations are a must. It's also BYOB, but they will set you up with Sangria or Mojito pitchers. We had a really good experience! They made our graduation celebration special.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had Empanadas & CroquetasWe had Empanadas & Croquetas for appetizer. Both were delicious. We ordered three different kinds of empanadas and they were all good. Dough was very light and flicky. We were impressed with the Oxtail dish. The meat was tender and the sauce was tasty. Except the Lechon was kind of dry. I wish they would cut as chunk instead of shedded meat. Overall, I like that place. I took an out of town friends there and wish they would have a live music. At least, the weather was good and we were able to stay at outdoor.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMothers Day afternoonThe place had a great feel and vibe, the aji relleno and empanadas (soy beef) appetizers were excellent. Had the bistec, fish, and vegetarian plates, all were delicious. Service could have been better, and we had to wait over 40 minutes after our reservation time for a table. Given this was mothers day, it could be forgiven. Had the bread pudding for dessert, that was outstanding. Overall, very good food and experience, would definitely come back again.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMwon't be my last visit! It was my 1st visit to this restaurant and it was an awesome experience. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable, They gave my family & I great recommendations. The food was Phenomenal and flavorful.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAn overall, the restaurantAn overall, the restaurant was pretty descent, something different to do. My mom liked, would like to come back.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AM90 Miles is closer than you thinkLaid back groove, attentive service, and do not turn down the sangría mix they offer to go with your BYO wine!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMCuban Comes to Chicago!90 Miles is a great restaurant with a quality menu of cuban cuisine. The empanadas were FANTASTIC! We got 4 different ones and each one was better than the last. There was a menu misunderstanding on my dish and a gentlement came over to me and said directly, "if it's not what you thought, I"ll make you a new one. The customer satisfaction is top priority." This is something that has never been said outright to me. Great price, great food, and BYOB is always a nice addition. Highly recommend.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at 90 Miles was veryThe food at 90 Miles was very good. The empanadas as a appetizer are must try, you get 3 which are enough for 2 people to split. The dinner plates were also very good. It is byob and if you bring rum as we did I would recommend getting the mojito pitcher which you make your own drinks. The ambience in the place is amazing, the crowd although packed during our dinner was very energetic but not to the point to where we couldn't have a conversation. This is a must try if you like Cuban food, would totally go back again5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMImpressiveI just moved to the neighborhood about a month ago, and in that time I have already heard from numerous people that I must try this restaurant. Had a reservation Saturday night (good idea to have the reservation), and all the people raving about this place were right. Sure, it's a little pricey (average $16-$17 for a full entree), but the portions are certainly appropriate, and the food was out of sight! Not to mention it's BYOB, so you're saving a ton on drinks. Service was phenomenal and everything was hot, quick, and delicious. The ambience was amazing as well, beautifully lit, a little quirky in the decor. Looking forward to trying brunch, and many dinners to come!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI thought the food was veryI thought the food was very good, but there are a couple of sandwich items that have the same name as the dinner plate items. I pointed to the sandwich and said the name, and was actually given the, more expensive, dinner plate, instead of the sandwich. We corrected the waiter and he said if i wanted the dinner he would just charge me for the sandwich. So just be careful in ordering the correct item, and making sure it's correct. I like the BYOB concept, always, but if you're having their sangria it is a bit pricey considering you use your own alcohol.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEXCELLENT food and GREAT staff!EXCELLENT food and GREAT staff! Love the ambiance of the 90 Miles!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBe sure to make reservations!Be sure to make reservations! The place is smaller so it fills up fast!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWent here on a whim with myWent here on a whim with my girlfirend while in Chicago. We were blown away at the quality of the food and the service, and we were totally unprepared for the fantastic food. We have had cuban a few
times before, but we have never had it on this level.. In addition to the magnificent food, we had a wonderful server who was attentive without hovering.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat wait staff. WonderfulGreat wait staff. Wonderful menu selection and tasty entrees.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AM90 Miles is just too far from me :)Being from Canada, we don't have a lot of Cuban food available. 90 Miles was recommended by a friend in Chicago and I have to admit, I was blown away.
Its a very rustic, tasty food spot that leaves you remembering how good food can be. There is a plethora of choices, and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
If you go to this place, I definitely suggest the Trio of empenada's since it really gives a great sample of the food. Everything I ate was tasty and hot to order.
I'll definitely return!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFood wasn't nearly as goodFood wasn't nearly as good as last time we went. Portions were smaller to. Maybe because this time we went on a Friday? The parking situation is terrible. Make sure you don't park in one of those permit parking only blocks. This time I tried the chorizo bruchetta. Excellent!3/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHad the Fricase Pollo andHad the Fricase Pollo and the Ropa Vieja for dinner. Both the chicken dish and the beef dish were exceptional with the right amount of spices. For dessert shared the key lime pie - best ever and equal or better than some in FL. Atmosphere is very comfortable but didn't know it was BYOB. The food was so good though that water was perfectly OK.2/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
