Had a very nice dinner. We used a groupon and had no problems. Went early on a Saturday night and it wasn't very crowded. Portions were very large. My wife has Enchiladas which were excellent. I had the Fried Chicken, which was fine, but nothing special. Our server was great and would consider going back.

  • First and Last Time
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 12/27/2012
First time here and definitely our last. We live in new hope and had friends visiting so we thought we'd try some place we haven't been. We are still apologizing. We went for lunch when they opened and could look past the stale musty beer smell as we know its a popular bar at night. The server was very sweet but got several things wrong on our order when the food finally came out. The iced tea was like water. The romaine lettuce/ aka ceasar salad was all brown on the edges. The entrees were anywhere from ok to awful. The food quality was just poor. Save your time and money and go to triumph if you want a bar with really good food (or over to lambertville).

Good for people watching on Main Street in New Hope. Good food, as long as you get there early enough (kitchen closes early if not enough people are eating, even though you can make a reservation on open table for that time!) Go for the Tuesday night open mic night! Saw great performers.

Went there because of an advertised kids menu. Nice place, good location for New Hope. Service was mediocre. Caribbean food was not as advertised on the website, and actual menu only had a few caribbean dishes. Perhaps they are in transition? Not really kid friendly, but then again, no restaurant in New Hope is from my experience. I found this place to be well advertised, and well situated with a nice facility, but mediocre overall.

Went for a girls night out- had a Groupon to use and it was well worth it! Food was good- we got two appetizers. The tuna nachos were great, but I wasn't that impressed with the regular nachos. The Bouillabaisse I had was fantastic- as was my passion fruit mojito! My friend though did not like her drink, some type of very berry martini. Very fun atmosphere, and New Hope is just adorable! Unfortunately we didn't get to sit outside because of the weather, but it looked very nice.

The food was great but the atmosphere is not food for dinner. I went there with some friends and it was so noisy I could barely here my wife and she was sitting right next to me. It was difficult for the waiter to take my order as well. I would recommend go before dinner time and you should enjoy yourself.

  • We've been to The Sandbar
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 9/3/2012
We've been to The Sandbar on three other occasions and always enjoyed the food and service. But our recent visit on September 3rd left alot to be desired. The waitress may have been new because she seemed to be confused about the drink my friend ordered as well as our questions about two sandwiches we were debating over. One of the servers knocked over my husband's beer onto the remainder of our appetizer and never offered to replace the beer/appetizer or take a percentage off of our check. The sweet potato fries seemed to be overcooked. This was the first time we were disappointed with our visit but it was enough that we will probably stay away from The Sandbar for awhile. We had brought our out of town friend and were a bit embarrassed

Starters were mixed and main course decent, but deserts were disappointing. Halfway through the meal the music volume got cranked up and with a large speaker right above our table it became very hard to talk. Nowhere near as good food and ambience as a couple of years ago

My wife and I went to the Sandbar for an early dinner this past Tuesday. It was still Happy Hour and so we benefitted from the specials. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Coconut Shrimp and I had the Chili which was excellent. Both were half price during HH and along with $2 drafts were a great value. We then followed up with the Gumbo Soup and the Chimichanga which again were excellent. The staff (Steve did a great job)responded to our every need. The manager (Eric) checked back to see if we were enjoying our meal at least twice. It was a great spot to view the New Hope street scene and the beginning of a great night. It is the perfect place to go before going to the 8pm show at the Bucks County Playhouse.

Rated it good because it was just that, good. Not great. Service was split. I think the waitress was new but it wasn't busy and it took more than a 10 minutes to at least take and serve a drink order. The manager on the other hand went above and beyond. We decided on the location based on a menu item we found online. Upon arrival the menu had been changed/updated, however, he was more than eager to provide it. Well done! We would go there again for lunch but we didn't leave feeling like we had to rush back for a future visit.

We were seated immediately, yet it took 10-15 minutes for the server to come and take our drink order. And the restaurant was not busy at all! Both the hostess and the server seemed rather inattentive. It was not the best dining experience. Next time I'm in New Hope, I'll definitely go someplace else.

The restaurant did not have a table designated for us on our arrival although they were not full and therefore were able to put tables together to accommodate our group of 8. The atmosphere was somewhat dingy but probably appropriate for the town. Food was just fair, no one was overly impressed although the clam chowder was excellent. Service was also fair to good.

Our food was good, no question about that. But the Sandbar can't' decide whether it is a Tiki Bar, a Dance Club, or a legitimate New Hope restaurant. It was too loud for dinner, which was early Saturday evening, and there was a TV blaring above us. I would return if I thought it had decided to become a restaurant (at least until the later hours).

I ordered the sausage and chicken gumbo. The problem was there were no big chunks of chicken nor sausage in the gumbo. It was like it was ran through a food processor first. I did not care for it. The restaurant itself seemed pretty cool. I would take a chance and go there again but there are so many other restaurants in New Hope that I know that I would get a great meal.

It looked like it would be a fun place in the evening. The service was fabulous! Our waitress was Jill. Food was delicious! I've been there twice since then, once with a big group. Each time the wait staff was a little quirky but the food makes up for it, they have a delicious menu and everything we tasted was good, not one person in our party disliked it. Has sort of an island feel which is nice, when you want to get away. They also have a more secluded area upstairs that would be great for couples!

I attended the restaurant with a group of friends for a "Night away from the kids". We saw that this was referred to as a part of Key West in PA, which was enticing since we LOVE Key West. After looking at the menu we decided to give it a try. Nothing about the restaurant said Key West (not sure if it is because it was a quiet Friday night and it was raining outside. The menu had some Key West themed entrees which we tasty. The happy hour was a good deal! Appetizers priced over $7 were half price and drink specials were pretty good. Overall, I would say give it a try.
