  • This is our third dining experience
    OpenTable Diner Since 2005

This is our third dining experience at 82 Queen. Due to rain, we sat inside for the first time (we usually love to be in the garden). We were not disappointed. Our waiter was charming, the menu had a wonderful selection of entrees, and each of us (6 in our party) enjoyed our meals, from sharing appetizers of calamari and fried oysters to sharing desserts. No entree was left unfinished. YUM! I highly recommend this restaurant, as you feel special, eat special, and it isn't overpriced like many of the specialty steak houses.

The restaurant is quite large with numerous tables in a courtyard setting as well as inside. The She-crab soup was delicious. The Duck Breast and the Double Cut Pork Chops were both done very nicely. For dessert, the peach cobbler was not what was expected. It was more like a dense peach, pecan & raisin cake - there were actually no pieces of peach in it. Overall a very good meal and service. On a side note, parking garage is directly across the street.

My wife and I have dined at 82 Queen several times in the past few years and have always enjoyed good food and great service. Fantastic low country food, one of the very best Charleston has to offer. Unbelievable deserts, my wife loved the chocolate cake. An excellent restaurant for special occasions.

Absolutely fabulous experience. We will definately be going again. Food was to die for. Our server, Joe, was very attentive and personable, made us feel at home, the best server we had at any of the 4 different establishments we frequented on this trip. If you enjoy trying different things and enjoy really good food, you will not be left down. I would recommend 82 Queen to anyone.

Unfortunately we were down there when Hurrican Hanna was coming so we didn't get to eat outside and we were the only ones in the restaurant for awhile. We had to rush out becuase the storm was coming but it turned out just to be a tropical storm so we can have stayed longer to enjoy the atmosphere. Maybe next time we can do brunch.

We ate dinner at 82 Queen and the menu, service and atmosphere was excellent. we then went back two weeks later for lunch. I brought 12 family members who flew into Charleston for a family reunion. They gave us a private room. The luncheon menu is just as good as the dinner menu. Service was outstanding and the she crap soup and the key lime pie was the best I've ever had. I highly recommend 82 Queen to all. The prices are reasonable and the restaurant has a nice bar area for a pre or post dinner drink.

I have been to lunch at 82 Queen before, and it was excellent (they are of course known for their she-crab soup), but this time was disappointing. The food was good, but it wasn't something I couldn't make myself at home. Our server was very courteous and friendly, but the wait time for our food was unacceptable, especially given the fact that we were only one of three parties in the dining area. It took at least 40 minutes to get our main entrees. I will probably try 82 Queen for dinner sometime since I've only had lunch there, and I hope that the service will be better. You can't beat the atmosphere, though, and the beautiful landscaping outside.

Impeccable service, however the entrees were nothing special for the price. The vegetables in the Seafood Pasta were undercooked and the scallops were raw, even though the dish was very "soupy". The Chef's special was ok, steak and scallops, nothing to write home about. Dessert was ok, pecan pie was awesome! Overall just a mediocre dinner from an overpriced downtown restaruant.

  • Day trip to Charleston, first
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 8/14/2008
Day trip to Charleston, first time there. So many good restaurants. Picked 82 Queen for its outdoor seating and lowcountry menu. Jambalaya with shrimp, crawfish, and tasso ham was quite generous in size and spicy (not too hot for my taste, though). My wife had the mac and cheese with rock shrimp and tasso ham appetizer as her entree (plenty for her). We split the peach praline cobbler with cinnamon ice cream for dessert (too much for either of us alone). Very enjoyable evening and did not feel rushed. We had 7:30 reservations but you may have been able to walk in (Thursday).

We ate lunch here while on vacation and really enjoyed it. Absolutely loved the outdoor area and it was perfect for lunch. Watch the little birdies, though! They're cute but all over the place. We looked at the menu online ahead of time and knew it would be a bit of a pricey lunch for us. However, we deemed it a special occasion since it was vacation and were extremely pleased with the food quality and service. The shrimp and grits were delicious! Would return!

Brunch was a delight. Grits, which I don't particularly enjoy, were actually edible. The eggs/bacon weren't the greatest ever, but its hard to mess with such a plain meal. My wife's breakfast was the best she's ever had, and the prices were not exorbitant. Their pre-breakfast biscuits were amazing. The one negative was the flatness of their sodas, but most people won't worry about that.

Great experience. I had the apple stuffed pork chop and my wife had the grilled portabella mushroom. Both were outstanding. My side items were so good that I ate them first and my wife kept stealing my mashed potatoes. The service was excellent and my request for a nicer table because it was my wife's birthday was obviously honored as we were sat at a beautiful window seat. We have dined at 82 Queen many times and absolutely love the food. This was my first Brunch visit. I was not aware they did a limited brunch menu not the regular lunch menu. I was a little disappointed with the Brunch Menu and feel they should offer the option on Sunday. The food I ordered was great. No complaint there! The others in my party: My wife said the sandwich was so-so. My daughter and here boyfriend felt them menu was to limited and not enough to chose from. But they still enjoyed the food. Waiter Austin spent to much time talking to folks from Chicago which arrived after us and they were served first. Not a good thing for what I consider a local since we live just 1 hour north of charleston. But we will go back.
