The bread and cocktail (Charleston sparkler) were delicious. I came here for a very special occasion and I didn't think it was worth it. I would have rathered gone somewhere else as the food here was not up to par to some other restaurants in town in terms of flavor and ingredients. The server was nice though.

One of the highlights of 82 Queen was the wait staff. We had a very well informed server who spent a great deal of time explaining the menu. Our group of three had some special dietary concerns and the server went out of her way to assure that our dining experience was as fine as it could be. The food was fresh and imaginative. All in all a great dining experience!

Recommended by our hotel staff, 82 queen is a great find in Charleston. The food offered local flavor prepared their way. We followed the wait staff recommendations as well as venturing off to our own picks. Everything was spot on terrific! We were traveling, and noticed there were locals in the dinning room. That was a great signal to us! So many wonderful places in Charaleston, but if you have the chance, 82 Queen is worth the experience.

They sat us at an outside table in a light drizzle. My wife's crab cakes were under-seasoned and my jambalaya was pasty. We hadn't been here in 5 years and we remember why now. Pretty place with average food at high prices.

82 Queen is know for it's quaint outdoor dining area. Unfortunately 2 weeks of evening thunderstorms made outdoor dining a hit or miss option. We didn't want to take a chance so chose to dine indoors. Indoor dining atmosphere was very "average" not quaint or welcoming at all. The food was good but dinner was rushed even though we did our best to slow things down. The pacing of a meal is almost as important to us as the meal itself.

82 Queen is conveniently located to many of the sights downtown. Easy walk to the shopping on King Street and The Market. The service was excellent as was all of the food that we enjoyed. Due to the rain, we were unable to eat in the courtyard by loved the inside just as well. Charming, great lunch spot!

We love charleston food and 82 queen did not disappoint. We waited in the bar for our table to be ready and were greeted friendly by the bartender. They had a wide selection of local/micr brews, mix drinks and wine. The dining atmosphere was romantic and traditional charleston. We ate there unknowingly on the last day of restaurant week, so we had a pre-fixed menu. Despite that the menu did not disappoint. Best She-crab soup that I have tasted in Charleston. The meal was perfect portions, taste and presentation. Highly recommended. Will be back to sample the larger menu.

We went to 82 Queen this past Saturday. We had a party of 6 and ended up at what I think is the best table in the whole restaurant - out on the patio with lights all around. It was beautiful! Our server was wonderful- the food was great. I had the roasted beets, fried green tomatoes with grits and the land and surf. It truly was one of my favorite restaurant experiences.

  • First bad visit

We visited during restaurant week - which normally has a higher service rating - however, this visit was a complete train wreck. Our waitress, Lindsey, was either new, not trained or unable to handle the high volume. We waited for every course, every single dish came out cold. The appetizers were sent back, but by the time we actually got out entrées, we were so hungry, we just ate them cold. The second round of drinks never came - and when clearing the first round, she spilled half of a drink on my leg. The manager did come to the table and comped the food - but it was a very bad visit.

The only complaint I have is that my first steak didn't come medium rare but more medium to medium well. HOWEVER, as soon as I brought this to our server, Gabriel's, attention it was taken care of, and not only did I get another steak cooked the way I like it, but an entire freshly plated meal. They made the mistake right and more. The flavor of all the food was excellent and with that level of service we will be back. I cannot recommend 82 Queen highly enough. Way to take care of the customer!

We were sat 15 minutes after arriving and we had a reservation. Our waiter was great! the atmosphere can not be beat and the she crab soup is on my top 5 list best in Charleston. However we ordered the Land and Sea for restaurant week. The scallop was not seasoned at all and not quite cooked enough our steak which was ordered medium rare was close to mooing and the potatoes were almost not edible because of how salty they were. Overall it was a good experience and i would go again.

We had a nice meal. It was restaurant week, so there was a limited menu. The corn chowder was delicious. Our entrees were just okay. However, our desserts were fabulous. All in all, it was a good meal. Next time we are in Charleston, I would go back and like to eat off the regular menu. The waiter was very nice and helpful and the ambiance was very pleasant.

This was a romantic and classy restaurant but my husband and I weren't wowed by the food. The fried green tomatoes were excellent but the she crab soup was incredibly heavy and didn't have much crab. I had the BBQ shrimp and grits which lacked flavor; however my husbands jambalaya was very good. We sat in a great spot overlooking the garden dining area and the service was perfect.

I went with my boyfriend for restaurant week. We sat outside and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was good but nothing amazing and I felt like the portions were rather small. This seems to be a trend among restaurants during restaurant week. The desserts were just okay. I could have done without it. I got a glass of wine and my boyfriend got a beer so our total with tip was $97.00. I have no problem paying that much if it were worth it and if I were full at the end of the meal but I was not.

We used Restaurant Week in Charleston to try out several places that would be great venues for guests - based on our lunch experience last week, 82 Queen is not our list of places to take family and friends. The server looked hung-over and seemed to be unhappy we were in his section. We ordered jalapeno poppers at the servers recommendation and found them tasteless and greasy. Then we went with the prix fix for the meal - there were lumps of flour in the "award winning" cup of crab bisque and not much flavor. We were given tiny chicken wraps and a side. The blue cheese bacon cole slaw side and the playlist coming in over the hidden speakers were the only saving graces for an overall mediocre meal. We will not bring guests to this venue.

The Restaurant was packed, which is to be expected during Restaurant Week. My table of 4 with a reservation was not seated until 30 minutes after out reservation time. Isn't that what reservations are for? There were other guests that were a little upset with this issue as well. This isn't the first time they have been featured during restaurant week. Get it together. The food was actually phenomenal. I had the Cod with truffle grits and they were amazing. Our server was wonderful. The desert was a bit disappointing. Slices of cake or cheese cake - nothing that wowed.

82 Queen is unique - charming - and has an awesome set up. The food was very good, the waitstaff was wonderful. The only downside was that we were seated, unfortunately, with 2 tables of LOUD talkers and one crying baby. It was a small room and everything echoed. When we were first seated, before the loud talkers came, it made for a quiet, calm dinner. Then it was suddenly like we were in a bar trying to talk over the others. :(

After a brief interlude at the bar, we were ushered to our table. We chose to eat indoors and our table was on the second floor of this historic building on Queen Street. Our server, Rachel, was absolutely fantastic and her wine choice was spot on. The "Artemis" was a great choice to compliment both the filet and the gumbo. Given the chance, you must order the baked brie as an appetizer. Wonderful choice. All in all, this was a wonderful dinner. We will be back soon.
