80th & Ivy Modern KitchenHad a girls night out. ItHad a girls night out. It was awesome. Thanks again.11/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDisappointed that I didn'tDisappointed that I didn't get any meat in my pork soup, but it was tasty.10/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWill be visiting againReally good food and super friendly staff! I had a groupon and they didn't treat me like I was a cheap-o like other places do when you bring up the word coupon. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I would go back on a busy night to check out the bar side. This is what we needed for that part of 17th avenue... A modern restaurant that serves fresh semi-healthy food. Great job! I'll be coming back for sure!7/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch VisitDecided to try this neighbourhood gem on a Sunday afternoon. The food was really quite good. The food portions were large and quite filling. Pricing is very fair and comparable to the rest of the area restaurants. We would definitely come back again.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWell Done!My girlfriend and I went to 80th and Ivy for dinner at 5:00pm on Sunday. It was completely deserted so we were skeptical. We were sat in the back corner of the dining room by the windows which was really cold (i had to wear my jacket the entire meal). The room filled up within 20 minutes. The music was at a respectable level. Our waitress introduced herself and was very friendly. She brought us ice waters and a basket of fresh bread and olive oil for dipping. We ordered a bottle of the Malbec, the Kale salad and Gargonzola Mushroom Dip to start. Great appetizer for sharing. For the main course we ordered the Corleone Pizza and the Classic Alberta Burger with fries. I selected this restaurant and a neighborhood gem because it really is.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLove itThe only thing i did not like I ordered a single rum and coke, and the brought me a double (with out me knowing it) when the server brought the bill I asked her why was this double..?? ( I never ordered it double) she said that is how the bartender likes to make it..
Honestly I don't care how he makes it but when I order something that I want I should get it not what bartender chooses for me..
Plus getting charged for it...That's all
But other than that I love this place..!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is spectacular &The food is spectacular & consistant. The atmosphere is upscale yet relaxed. We will frequent 80th & Ivy often6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBad table, great foodWe made a resv'n at 80th & Ivy over a month ago. When we arrived, we literally had the worst table in the restaurant right in front of the drafty door in the lounge. It was a huge table for 8, and there were only 5 of us. The lounge is very loud, and we could not hear each other and had to shout. Now I may be wrong, but I think when you make a reservation the assumption is for the dining room and not the lounge. They could not accommodate our party of 5 moving to the dining room so we moved to a better table in the lounge. After all that though - the food was delicious! The tenderloin bites were excellent as were the dates. Pear and Gorgonzola flatbread was very good too. I would definitely eat here again (but ask for the dining room!).5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy, buy noisy! The food was great, the wine very good, the service thorough, but the noise level was off the charts. Due to the noise I would find it very hard to go back and I am not overly sensitive to such things. Trying to engage in conversation with my dinner companions was next to impossible and was a painful experience. Despite early reservations, 5:45pm, we were stuck between 2 very large groups. Perhaps being placed in the upper section would have lessened this experience.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food and service butgreat food and service but very loud and difficult to hear.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGood foodThe food was very good here with a good selection and variety. Service was okay. Had trouble with the pop machine (Sprite tasted watery and they were unable to fix the machine). Tables looked Ikea-like and seating is mostly just high-chairs. Food is very good and although I did not try the wine the wine list looks impressive although nearly all pricier/high end wines. Prices for food are on the higher end but still good value for the quality.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGotta love 80th & IvyHad a great experience at 80th & Ivy. Very modern and trendy with a tasty menu. Ordering the mushroom dip is a must, but beware it's super filling! Service was good, they were on top of things. I'll definitely be going back.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat location and atmosphere.Great location and atmosphere. They didn't have much as far as vegetarian options go although food portions are good and the food isn't too bad. The servers are great, although (may have been a one of) it was a bit slow in getting any service. I would still recommend this spot to family and friends for cocktails and appies on th patio in the summer.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for DinnerThe food was very good, it was freshly made and the dinner dish portions are reasonable for the price charged. The service was excellent, overall it was a very good experience for my husnbad and I. We did find the drinks a little bit pricy.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSunny day lunchThe room is open and friendly and light with an open kitchen. the server was personable, friendly and attentive but we were in no hurry enjoying a long and relaxing lunch. The menu had lots of enticing choices. The Ivy salad and beet and goat cheese salads were both rated highly, especially enjoyed the yellow beets. The regular coffee was very good and the sticky toffee pudding with Amaretto ice cream that we shared was delicious, not too sweet. One minor criticism was the noise level (conversation) when the place was full but it didn't interfere with our enjoyment of the meal.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Mother's Day Brunch! We dined here for Mother's Day and the food and service were both terrific. Loved the special touches like free Mimosas for Moms! Will definitely be returning to try the dinner menu. Awesome atmosphere and loved the hooks under the tables to hang purses (a clever detail).5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Flavors & Friendly StaffI took my parents for Mothers Day and we all really enjoyed our food and drinks. The server was great even though she was new. Everyone was smiling and made us feel welcome. Food came out pretty fast and loved every bit of everything we ordered. Can't wait to go back and have the pear and Gorgonzola flatbread (delicious).5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, excellent service,Great food, excellent service, and very good decor.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodReally enjoyed the experience. Would love to have a small family event there but TOO noisy5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGoing back ASAPI absolutely was over impressed by 80th & Ivy. I had heard from a few friends that it was a good place but it beat out my expectations. The services was great, the food even better and the atmosphere was beautiful (taking a few decorating idea for my own house). Prices were very fair considering the quality of food you are eating!
Overall a great night with a great friend and I plan on taking my man there too.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were totally impressedWe were totally impressed with everything, though it was noisy, it still will not deter us.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time and definitelySecond time and definitely will be back.
The only draw back is the seating is a bit too close to each other...could over hear bits of conversation at next tables. And in all fairness...have not been to any place in Calgary where that does not happen.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Place, as well asAwesome Place, as well as Carlos the Manager was very welcoming1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
