After enjoying 801 Chop, my husband and I were looking forward to trying 801 Fish. Our party of 4 all enjoyed the food but sadly, the service was horrible. Our server was not attentive, professional or even friendly. All four of us agreed it would be the first and last visit.

There for an anniversary dinner. Lovely rooms, quiet, not too dark, well spaced tables. Sat next to floor to ceiling glass wine cellar, a rich feature in the comfortable space. Dinner was terrific, well paced. Spicy mussels (the mussels a bit small) but delicious sausage, beer, fennel broth and garlic toast.) Grilled romaine salad not to be missed and young knowledgeable waiter recommended splitting the huge portion. He also recommended the pan roasted branzino, great down to the buttery crispy skin. The scallops on the other dish were huge and tender..dishes are expensive but are not over priced given the freshness, care, portion sizes and imagination of the dishes. Corkage allowed fortunately ... wine markups are crazy like everywhere.

801 Fish is a restaurant for that special occasion. Food, service, beverages are of a high quality. This restaurant is very expensive for the casual diner. Not some place you go for a simple meal. There are similar restaurants with better prices. Enjoyed our experience very much.

My wife and I had dinner at 801 Fish on September 6. Our entire meal & service was 5 Stars...without a doubt! Our server, Chris MacDougall, along with the maitre d' were superb throughout the evening. We had the Calamari Fritti for appetizer that was seasoned perfectly & melted in our mouths. The grilled hearts of romaine Caesar salad was awesome, served with a soft boiled egg on the top...the best Caesar salad I have ever had. She had the panned seared scallops and I had the lobster linguini for our entrees. Once again, the chef cooked them to perfection, great taste and temperature. The $25 corkage charge is reasonable. Our meal was pricey...but it was worth it. We'll be back.

Menu is limited and very expensive. I expected more choices of fresh fish and not but the six restaurant specials. Meals are ala carte so that a meal with salad and side dish will be $55 and up. Food quality and presentation were great .

Great for fresh seafood(flown in daily) and prime, melt in your mouth steaks, prepared in the most exquisite ways! Executive Chef Nicholas knows what the customer will love. He leads his team to work their magic in the kitchen under his expert instruction. Nicholas, the wine stewards, and wait staff (Michael) are knowledgable about prep, foods, and wines, and check to make sure the diner is satisfied with their choices. They all made a twenty first anniversary a memorable experience and made us feel happy with our choice of establishment.

We were a party of 5 including 3 children that had a very delectable dinner. Bread was served right away. The appetizers and salad/dinners were excellent. We had Oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail. For entrees, we had a filet, full roasted lobster, sea bass and, steak frites, clam fettuccine. They ran out of clams so mussels were substituted. We also ordered a Poilly Fuisse from the under $40 wine menu which was excellent. Seating was delayed by 20 minutes as it was a busy Sat night but we hung out at the bar until seated which was fabulous.

We had a party of 5 & everyone loved the food & service. The only issue was 801 Fish was short of servers & it was a holiday weekend. Don't know what happened, the wait time was a little long. All the managers & staff were helping the staff so they were doing the best that they could with the shortage of waiters or waitresses.

Place was half-full on a Friday night. Very expensive, small portions. Waiter was extremely knowledgable, BUT was rarely around (not sure what he was doing since he couldn't have had much to do). Dinner for two took almost three hours! It was our Anniversary and they acknowledged it, but between the noise and the extremely slow service, it was not a memorable evening.

Fish was great (oysters, grouper, salmon). Service was perfect. Minor failure: "French Roast" coffee was thin and watery. Place was near empty, but it was early on a weeknight following a closure for floor repairs. Pricey but worth it for the quality of food and service. Location is a bit out of the way, but easy to find if you are familiar with Park Place. Staff is very professional and competent; you wont find any half-trained, inattentive kids working here. Our 3rd or 4th visit. Not our last.

This restaurant is superior to any other seafood restaurants in the Kansas City area. The decor is beautiful and the bar area fun and inviting. The dinner menu offers a wide range of very fresh seafood choices that are perfectly prepared, beautifully presented and delicious. The staff is very courteous and attentive when needed and especially very knowledgeable about the food choices and options for preparation. This is a restaurant you can enjoy for a special occasion or for an intimate "date night" with a spouse. My guests are from 2 large "foodie cities" and they raved about our total dining experience. I love a resturant that when driving home you are already discussing: "Let's go back there soon" and "when can we return?"

Chose this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have visit other restaurants in the 801 restaurant group and this was the first experience with 801 Fish at this location. Everything from the opening cocktails at the bar thru the dinner was perfect. The Hostess, General Manger, Bartender and Server were all very cordial and knowledgeable regarding the menu. Food was prepared perfectly. Atmoshpere/ambience was nice and relaxful but it was a week night with limited customers. A little pricey on a few things but well worth it for this dining experience/celebration. Used OpenTable and provide a note in the "request" area indicating that it was our anniversary and 801 Fish provided us with personlized menus....nice touch!

We chose 801 Fish to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Being that it was our first time there we explored the menu with tremendous help from our server. The happy hour $1 oysters was a treat and we shared a dozen. Bread was provided prior to our choices being delivered in a timely way. The presentation of food was well done. Both of us could not finish our entrees, not because the portions were too large, but the food was extremely rich. The roasted brussels sprouts were extremely salty and neither one of us could finish but a few, a waste. All in all, we liked the ambience and our server was superb and we enjoyed our conversation with him.The net, net we would not go back based on the value of the high cost versus the quality of food.

Very cool restaurant...just the right mix of formality to know its special without being stuffy. Excellent service (with a few hiccups) but overall extremely pleasant in that regard. Having a server that doesn't rush you through or recognizes when its a good window to check in is so important and ours was great in that regard. My only recommendation for them would be to have some variety in the price points...the "Bar Menu" offered that option but nothing on the regular menu did--most entrées are in the $30-40+ range. To be a place that people can come to on a regular basis without it being a special occasion there should be some menu/price adjustments.

Good, tasty food and service was okay. Waiter had a tendency to "over-explain" the menu, without us asking for recommendations, even after we said we'd been there before. And then wasn't very attentive once we had ordered. It's very pricey. Particularly the wine list!
