801 Chophouse at the PaxtonOverall excellent mealOur steaks were PERFECT. Hands down best ribeye I've ever eaten. My only complaint would be the level of garlic in the garlic mashed potatoes. I typically add plenty of seasoning to my potatoes, but these were just too much: they were so garlicky that they almost tasted spicy. Other than that, great service, fantastic setting, and the rest of the food was stellar. They have a great single malt selection. Out waiter was very attentive, and the entire meal was first-rate. The only drawback was the after-dinner coffee, which was pretty average. The ambience of the restaurant is fantastic. Perfect for a special, romantic dinner, but also would be great for business dinners. The food is amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection as ordered and the sides were really good. We ordered the Lobster Corn Dogs as an appetizer. These are not to be missed! When the entrees arrived they were practically auctioned off - a server (not our waiter) came over with a plate of food, then announced what was on the plate and then looked around to see who would claim it. Lame. I think that the waiter can take a few seconds to clue the server in on who gets what. Also, the waiters removed glasses before we were done with our wine. At over $200 per bottle, I really *do* want to finish my wine. Overall, I expect better service for a dinner bill (for 6 people) of over $1200. Michael, our server, did everything possible to make our dining experience wonderful.....from giving us the history of the restaurant, to splitting our salad keeping the egg out of mine as he knew I didn't like it, to adding bacon to our au gratin potatoes after he learned that my husband loved bacon. We each ordered the strip steak, it was agreed that this was the best steak we had ever tasted; cooked and seasoned to perfection. We were seated at about 6PM and the dining room was almost empty. The waiter gave us plenty of time to read the menu. He then showed and explained the various cuts of meat (not out of the ordinary for good Omaha steakhouses). I had the ahi tartare which was was presented nicely with wasabi drizzle. I enjoyed a filet mignon of a caliber I haven't had in nearly 10 years. The sides were served "family style" which were enough for each of my party to have about two servings of each side. We enjoyed a Sauvignon Cabernet which complimented our steaks quite excellently.
