Food: lobster tail was spectacular, filet was delicious and cooked perfectly, sides are chophouse-style, so made to share. We enjoyed the mushrooms, found the creamed spinach pretty standard, and the French fries were tasty. Chocolate soufflé was awesome!!

Friends recommended 801 Chophouse and I must say it more than exceeded our expectations! I have the bone-in prime rib. It was the best piece of meat ever- juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. The waiter was friendly, eager to explain the dining experience- since it was our first time, and very professional and knowledgable. We each ordered the strip steak, it was agreed that this was the best steak we had ever tasted; cooked and seasoned to perfection. We barely had room for our sides, garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. But, these were phenomenal, as well. This was a dining experience that will not be forgotten, everything about it was absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quality steak in Omaha. I particularly likes this last experience, as our server Michael G, as exceptional. We will always request Michael G, his knowledge of the menu and wine list made taking his suggestions very easy.

We were seated at about 6PM and the dining room was almost empty. The waiter gave us plenty of time to read the menu. He then showed and explained the various cuts of meat (not out of the ordinary for good Omaha steakhouses). I had the ahi tartare which was was presented nicely with wasabi drizzle. I enjoyed a filet mignon of a caliber I haven't had in nearly 10 years. The sides were served "family style" which were enough for each of my party to have about two servings of each side. We enjoyed a Sauvignon Cabernet which complimented our steaks quite excellently. Our waiter kept our drinks refilled and checked on us enough that we felt we were taken care of but did not become intrusive.2/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
