From the first drink to the dessert, this was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I live in the NY area and dine out a lot so my expectations were very high, and the 801 Chophouse lived up to and exceeded them. The giant Bone-In filet was cooked to perfection and was amazing. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and took care of everything we needed before we even asked. I will be back on every visit to Omaha!!!!!!!!!!

801 Chop House is a traditional steakhouse. Large slabs of well-seasoned meat, good wine, nice sides. A fun and pricey dining experience that is a go-to every so often. But not too often.

We scheduled our wedding anniversary there through opentable. I mentioned in the comments that it was our wedding anniversary, and they went out of their way to make it a special evening. We have been there twice, and on both occasions, I can say that our waiter/waitress was the best/most knowledgeable that I have had. My wife and I order the "bone left in" 20+ ounce steak and share it. It is more than enough food with a side item or two. It is pricey for "regular people" like myself. Probably not a place you want to take the kids along to. Neither time I have been here, have I seen kids/teenagers. But the food....mmmmmmmm. It is worth a visit a couple of times a year for us.

I have eaten at 801 on previous trips to Omaha, and although expensive, the food was good. Last night, I ordered a medium rare filet and it came out medium well. My new steak was served on the same plate as previous one, as it had a dollop of spinach on it. Additionally, the reheated spinach (became cold while waiting for new steak) was reheated and not a new order. Our waiter was a complete snob, and could give a care that my meal was mediocre. There are too many other great steakhouses in Omaha.

I have to start by saying the food was wonderful. Everything from the artisan salad with goat cheese and strawberries, bone in prime rib, and creme brûlée was wonderful. Even the bread was delicious. The wine list was extensive, high end, and paired well with the delicious steaks we had. Our server Lloyd was wonderful. Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Frequently topped off our water and even the wine from the bottle we ordered. It was a great first experience and I will be going back for a nice night out on a special occasions

Impecable service. Stay away from bone-in prime rib. Large cut, lbut mine had way too much fat. Bone in sirloin way to go, while someone else ordered king crab legs and enjoyed. Sides are "family style" an cheesy has-browns and creamed spinash options wonderful. Asperagus was marginal. Lobster with corn bisque awesome & salads looked tasty.

I made reservations for our anniversary, we're not wine people so we can't comment on their wine, but just for the two of us it costs us $200 including gratuity. Everything's a charge. $24 for 2 salad, $12 for 1 mixed drink, $12 for 2 corona, $12 for plate grilled sparagus, $10 for mash potato, $38 for salmon, $52 for ribeye steak. $25 gratuity. Of course then taxes.

I had researched the restaurant briefly and the price ranges I saw were under what was actually observable. That being said, the service, experience, atmosphere, and especially the food, were all worthy of the high price. A very once in a while spot but ohhhhhhhh so good.

Another patron gave us a coupon for free desert while they were exiting. As we were talking the waiter removed the ccoupon. We assumed that he would ask us what we wanted for our free desert - he never said a thing. I am sorry but we had ownership of that coupon at that point and he never inquired. We were going to share the deaserT. We had no interest in ordering a seperate item for each of us . This place is too classy for that behavior - besideS I dropped $450 at the place already.

We had the bone marrow appetizer, prime rib, creamed corn and mushrooms with a couple of drinks each and the food was fantastic! Portions are generous. Best traditional prime rib dinner I've had in a long time. The prime rib was about 14-16 ounces and perfectly cooked. Not dry at all. Started off with some warm sour dough bread. I have nothing bad to say about it. The meal was as close to a 10 as you can get and my husband and I are foodies. The only thing that was missing was some Yorkshire pudding. :-). We highly recommend 801. Delicious!

Visited the chophouse with two other business associates for a Saturday evening meal. Recommended by the hotel front desk as the best steakhouse in Omaha and it did not disappoint. Steaks were absolutely fantastic! Prepared spot-on for temperatures with a unique seared crust. Family style sides were also high quality. Even the bread was a cut above the usual found in a steakhouse. Be prepared to pay more than an average steakhouse ($40-$55 for steak - sides are a la carte) but definitely worth it for the tremendous quality.

At a pricey restaurant, I assume that everything will be cooked perfectly and everything will be delicious, and that was not the case. The carrots were seriously al dente and the steaks were really at the low end of medium rare. But, even worse was the fact that the seasoning on the carrots was unappealing and the steaks were tough, fatty, and....bland. There was a great crust developed on the steak, but no great steak flavor. The creme brulee was good and the lobster tempura appetizer (daily special) was tasty, although being forewarned about it's price would have been nice. I was a little surprised that an appetizer cost MORE than an entree. Service was good as was the coffee, and I really enjoyed the potatoes. Won't be back.

The food was perfectly prepared; the wine list included a tremendous selection; and the waitstaff offered professional and timely service. This place is an absolute must to visit during Omaha Restaurant Week because you get three incredible courses at one very reasonable price.

As usuall, my steak is always perfect. Food is always excellent. I go to 801 quite a lot for work dinners. However, this is the first time I experienced poor service at least initially. We waited for an hour after being seated for the waiter to take our order. He seemed to avoid our table completely after we ordered a bottle of wine. I had to press the issue and get his attention. I announced rather loudly that we were ready to order now sir. He laughed annoyingly and he was irritated by it, but everything was perfect for the remainder of the evening.

Our son requested 801 for his birthday and though it had been sometime since we had been there, knowing the ambiance is perfect for a rural livestock kid, we were expecting the usual top notch evening. However, the entire experience exceeded our expections on every level. The atmosphere is so "Omaha," the food exquisite, the service impeccable and the attentiveness was outstanding. From the birthday card on his plate, to the "Happy Birthday" lettering across our menus, & the perfect dinner, he couldn't have felt more pampered! Thank you Lloyd and 801 for a very special evening!

My wife and I made reservations to eat at 801 Chophouse before the Eagles Concert. The food was fantastic. The corn and lobster chowder was better than I can describe here. I had a ribeye and my wife had the prime-rib and they were both excellent. The service was great. Our waiter was friendly and personable. It was more money than we would normally spend on a meal, but the experience and food were worth the price. I am looking forward to our next visit.

I must say, the 801 group of restaurants is by far the best out there. The food is superb. I have been to many fine restaurants in large cities, and this one tops all of them by far. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes! There are many expensive restaurants out there that make you wish you had gotten more for your money...not here. The filet, crab cakes and Caesar salad are my favorite.

Our first visit and very please. Dining tables were set very formal with white table clothes, nice crystal and serving pieces. Hour server was delightful, she explain the menu, and that we could split or have small portions. The Delmonico rib eye was excellent, cooked just right, med.rare. I order the Brussels sprouts, they were ok, wouldn't order again. There are so many other sides that would be much better. The best part of the meal was the soufflé for desert, have to order when ordering the meal. I will go back, save for a special occasion. Prices are high, still well worth a visit.
