The food concept (farm to table) is both admirable and healthy. My wife was pleased with the Salmon Benedict. I ordered the Salmon Sandwich. I was thinking this would be an inch thick slab of salmon on a nice bun. Maybe I didn't read the menu closely: it was a thin slice of salmon on cream cheese on toast. The side salad was extremely fresh and had an excellent dressing. I'll have a hamburger or a steak next time I'm there. I liked the diverse options for the 8 Twelve specialty menu, and decided to make my reservation. Upon arrival, we stopped by the bar for one of their drink specials, which were unique and quite tasty. Upon being seated, we decided to try something different and selected the Cheddar and Gouda tator tots. They were a nice start to the meal. Our server recommended the 8 oz filet which half the table chose to try. They could not stop raving about the taste and how well it went with the sides they were able to select. I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Amish Chicken. The breading was light and tasty and the tomato macaroni and cheese was a delicacy that I haven't tasted before. If you like trying different sauces, seasongs, cheese flavorings, etc., this restaurant is good for you. If you enjoy more "traditional" food, the menu may be restrictive for you although my husband enjoyed his caesar salad with chicken. The tater tot appetizer is very tasty. I had the duck breast and thoroughly enjoyed it. I posted that menu on facebook and everyone that seen it thought it was the greatest thing. Thought when we got there it was just going to be the same waitstaff coming and singing but this was more memorable. We actually framed the menu and put it on the wall in Kevin's mancave.

The atmosphere was pleasant although the noise level got quite loud as the restaurant filled to near capacity. The menu selection was good and the food was well prepared and appealing. Leo, our waiter did a superb job of explaining our options and highlighting the advantages of the 8-Twelve philosophy. Our server, Alex, was OUTSTANDING! He had an extensive knowledge of the food and wine and made all of the options sound irresistible. He was attentive to our table and we had to chase him down to ask for anything. The food was AMAZING! From the appetizers to entrees to dessert, hands down an incredible experience. We were with people from out of state, and when one of the people in our party ordered a drink that the waitress wasn't sure of, she found a manager. The manager came over to make sure the ingredients were correct, then came back to shake it and serve it at the table. That was really a nice touch. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgable. Same with the filet mignon, the fried chicken and the smoked brisket. The tomato mac and cheese lacked flavor. When we arrived we were seated next to the swinging kitchen door which was noisy and flashed bright light like a strobe. We asked to be moved to a booth away from the door. At first our server said it wasn't possible, but then she was informed that she could. We were very pleased with our booth table and with our cheerful server, and we enjoyed an excellent meal. We had a group of 6 adults and 2 children. The brunch menu had good selections and the food was very good. The food was very slow coming out of the kitchen though and the children grew restless while waiting. That would be my only criticism. If you want to go early there's a great looking bar right when you walk in, great place for a date.
