"Excellent food, good service but with a bit of an attitude, and such an ugly, dark restaurant. A huge negative is the lack of non-wine drink options. No cocktails (they used to at least offer kir royales), no beer on tap, and mimosas and orangina listed on the menu were out. We had to settle for coke which was flat. I doubt we will come back anytime soon. They need to brighten the restaurant and get a bar."

"Cozy atmosphere and great service. Loved the crab cakes and the brie in phyllo. The surprise of the evening was the duck...delicious. Mixed review on the pork loin dish. Creme brulee...yum!"

"The food is very good, interesting, well prepared and well presented. The restaturant is very pretty, well laid out and actually quiet enough you can hear each other talk. Oh and if you face the kitchen, it's a great 'show' watching the chef. We are certainly looking forward to going again."

"We had a Travelzoo voucher for 4-course meal for 2 for $69. Of course, it doesn't seem like that great of a deal anymore when you pay over $30 on tax and tip on gross amount. We were just party of 2 so I didn't appreciate either that they just slapped you with 18% gratuity. I had lobster ravioli as an appetizer and the spinach salad. The ravioli was by far the best part of my meal. I had duck 2 ways as my entree; I love duck and this dish was definitely lacking. The grilled portion was overcooked and chewy. The confit was better but the skin could have been more crispy which would have made it less greasy. My dessert - fruit cobbler - was disappointing too."

"The food was very good and the service from our waiter was great. Thankfully we went there with a deal we bought on a website. As we're many other customers. It is very good and if you don't mind spending a pretty penny, its worth it. I personally don't like to overpay for diner so I would come back for special occasions."

"We were disappointed with 71 Saint Peter. The service is good, but the food is mediocre at best and the prices are out of line with the quality of the food. The chef seems to be in love with garlic and usses so much of it that some dishes are not edible. The only bright spots in my meal were the caprecce salad, which was wonderful, and the couple seated next to us, who were very friendly. I will not go back to 71 Saint Peter."

"Quiet and comfortable would best describe this restaurant. The food may be better than I rated it, but the interior decor is so off-putting that it taints my perception of the whole place. I believe it is supposed to be country French inside, but it is actually shanty Louisiana. Everything is a monochromatic grey/brown and there are fake shake shingles over the kitchen that have not been vacuumed in years. The rest of the place is dark and I believe that is a good thing since the interior is ugly, but the housekeeping I fear is worse."

"It's been a few years since I've been to 71 St Peter but it is just as good if not better than I remember and they have a very gluten free friendly menu. Portions are fairly decent for a high end restaurant though a bit more vegetable would be nice. My NY was outstanding the Creme Brulee very good and a generous portion. Service is very good and it is such a cute place. Highly recommend.

One thing of note and out of the control of the restaurant, on Shark game nights, park in another lot rather than the one next to the Spaghetti Factory who jacks up their prices to $10."
