  • "Apparently the Irvine Hotel decided to close 6IX Sunday evening and failed to mention it to Open Table. I had booked my reservation Saturday and got the Open Table confirmation. The hotel's parking valet nor the front desk staff knew the restaurant was closed. Clearly not Open Table's fault. Hotel staff were helpful in rebooking at a nearby restaurant. NOTE FOR OPEN TABLE: your survey webpage won't let me submit a response without answering questions 1, 2 and 3 above. Since we couldn't get in, I have to make up answers in order to get the rest of this information to you!"

  • "The place was empty on Friday evening but we stood a long time at the podium before we we seated. After seating and menus nobody came for the order, water - 10 min or more. Got up to find servers chatting with each other. That did get attention. The food was better, with the spinach salad being good and the mushroom risotto being quite good. The background music was cacophonous- not sure if it was spill-in from the loud bar or if they chose to pipe the same tunes. Our first time to the restaurant under new management. The kitchen might have been "pelicanized". But the ambience and service are not. If they want this to be an attractive dining option for locals rather than for trapped fly-ins without a car, they have work to do."

  • "Over the years, I have watched the food quality go down. This year it has hit an all-time low. The seared tuna salad is no longer ahi and red -- it was gray (and I assume albacore) and not very tasty. The lavash bread that comes in the basket had no flavoring or toppings. The food took quite a long time to come out. If I weren't forced to eat here for work, I would not come."

  • "I was looking for a special breakfast buffet to celebrate my son's 21st birthday with family and all of us were disappointed. The buffet had very little and simple selections, not even an omelet station and definitely not worth it $21 per person. It was similar to Holiday in breakfast. It certainly ruined our celebration and happy mood! Will never recommend it to anybody else."

  • "Had a reservation for Sunday brunch, but still took 15 minutes to get a table - not cool. Service was sparse - took way too long for our order to be taken. Food was okay. There was an empty parking lot in front of the restaurant, though it was for valet only and a sign directed us to the valet at the front of the hotel. After several minutes no hotel valet came to get our car, so I parked myself in the 'valet-only' lot in front of the restaurant that was nearly empty. Not towed thankfully, but better than parking in the self-parking lot on the complete opposite side of the hotel from the restaurant. We sat on the patio, which was pleasant."

Lamb was good. Waffles were crisp, yummy. Didn't try omelet. Desserts were standard. Enjoyed the piano music. Waiters could have been a little more attentive but were very affable when within range. Haven't decided if we'll return or not. Decent price."

  • "Went here with the family for Easter champagne brunch. The spread was comprehensive. The rib roast, ham, and stuffed leg of lamb were excellent. The king crab was fresh and sweet. The waffles and breakfast items were also good. The sushi was okay. Desserts were good. For $57, it was well worth the money spent. Overall, I enjoyed their food more than Orange Hill. Service was attentive and very good. I will probably be back for Mother's Day."

I would definitely recommend and come again...and actually, when it came time to pay the bill, we were able to make a reservation for the Mother's Day brunch so I do plan to go back! :)"

  • "I reserved a table at this restaurant for valentines day, after reading several reviews. I was very disappointed at my experience. There was no valet person when I arrived. After parking my own vehicle we walked in to the restaurant to find no one at the front in order to check in. I waited several minutes before a staff member appeared to lead us to our table. The food selection was not impressive. The waitress did not pay much attention to our table as our empty dishes sat there for the remainder of our stay, up until my girlfriend asked her if she could remove them. The waitress also spilled a vase with water on me and instead of comping me an item I later find that they charged a 15% gratuity on top of the tip I had left."

  • "Came for their Valentine's Day dinner, which was only a fair value for the food that was served. An unusually planned short rib dish (over over-sized pasta instead of a more malleable starch), a somewhat bland steak and a tough lobster were somewhat compensated for by the fact that the short rib itself was absolutely delicious, the lobster bisque starter was good, and the desserts were fantastic. A bit heavy after a large meal, but fantastic. Our server was the true star, keeping us in champagne the whole night. Our seating was a bit off-putting since, despite there being scads of open tables (we came early, around 6:15), we were seated directly next to another couple. Very weird and a bit awkward."

I was literally ignored at the bar when I arrived but later had a really good Waiter. Food was decent. Lamb and scallops were good."

The place was half empty, I guess not too many people want to drive to an isolated hotel for dinner, but it's worth the drive."

  • "What a Thanksgiving spread!WOW!I thought it would be good but it was so much better than I could imagine. They had everything...sure the turkey, dressing, etc. but seafood galore (I pigged out on the oysters, shrimp and crab claws. The almond,lemon green beans and the sauteed brussels sprouts with bacon and butternut squash soup were superb!I didn't even have salad or (can you believe it) beautiful sushi.Fabulous desserts, wonderful prime rib....and unlimited champagne.Thoroughly enjoyed my meal.Yes, it was a tad noisy but people were enjoying themselves, even dancing to the live piano player.Yes, we will do this again."

  • "Hosted a breakfast meeting for two. When we arrived the hostess was ready to seat us. I told her we had a reservation..she offered us a booth and said we could also sit anywhere we wanted. I was a bit surprised as I thought with a reservation, I'd automatically get seating which was conducive to a breakfast meeting. we chose the booth! Service was fast and friendly. My fritata was delicious. My associate enjoyed his oatmeal. We had a latte and capuccino as well. The only problem came when it was time to pay the bill...we had trouble finding someone to process our payment! Eventually someone came by (this was around 9:00AM) and it was promptly and correctly processed."

  • "The service is tremendous. Buneta (our waiter) took the time to get to know us and returned to our conversation about travel every time he returned to our table. We started off with a Malbec wine. We split the top sirloin and the wedge salad. Both meals came pre split and beautifully presented from the kitchen. The wedge salad was an explosion of amazing flavor with delicious blue cheese, bacon, onions, and tomatoes. The steak simply melted in your mouth. Our two teenage children found happiness in the angus burger and he chicken tortilla soup with a caesar salad. The bread is devine, also. Stuffed, we still all split a dessert of chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit. All of this for under $100! Amazing!"
