- Lovely surpriseTravelinTexansDined on 7/25/2014This is the second time we have eaten at 626. Both times were a delight. The atmosphere is quietly elegant and the service is excellent - attentive but not intrusive. The food is fresh and much is locally grown. We had a crab appetizer this time that was tasty. My husband had the salad with duck breast both times and it was great. I had the spinach salad with Asiago. He had the steak, which was done exactly as requested, and I had the squid ink pasta (made on site) with scallops. Both were delicious. The wine selection is extensive and includes some local vintages. Grand Junction has some good non-chain restaurants, but we feel 626 is the best, and will continue to visit it each time we visit or are passing through.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- 626 always a delightponygirlprincess8Dined on 7/18/2014626 always delivers beautifully prepared meals and although the wait staff isn't old enough to be "impeccable", they are always well trained and very friendly. We love the menu choices, wine list and accommodating service at 626 and will continue to enjoy special occasion meals with them.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- OpenTable Diner Since 2009Dined on 7/7/2014Great Meal as always. The best restaurant between Denver and Las Vegas. Don't miss it if you are anywhere nearby.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Always a good experienceEdwinDined on 7/5/2014I have eaten at 626 multiple times and this time took some friends we dine with regularly who had not been there. We enjoyed our experience and will be back again! You can't go wrong with their foie gras and the fresh tomato salad was over the top, obviously highlighted by the fresh local heirloom's. The fresh fish entrée was cooked perfectly and really good. My wife had the squid ink pasta with scallops and was my favorite of the table!Special Features:
- Best Food in Grand JunctionJohnDined on 6/13/2014Despite being tucked away on Rood downtown, 626 Rood is by far the best dining experience in Grand Junction. The food is absolutely amazing, freshly sourced, and attention to details make this a don't miss for the foodie or those wanting a top notch meal. Portions are ample without being large (or too small for that matter), and the staff make everyone feel special. Love this place, cannot wait to go back.Special Features:
- AnniversaryClydeDined on 6/7/2014We have celebrated many of our wedding anniversaries at 626, but this year was exceptional in all areas. The fresh vegetables beginning with the salad through the main course were perfect. The wine selections that always include something new were also a highlight. Overall the evening was one to remember.Special Features:
- Loved the avacado ice creamFoodiegirlDined on 6/3/2014The owner was behind the bar and seemed to work harder than anyone. Service was friendly, and informed. Did feel that being a single diner I was expected to sit at the bar. The wine was overpriced for a small pour.Special Features:
- Grand Junction gemEdwinDined on 5/24/2014I've eaten at 626 multiple times. Each time I go I'm not disappointed. They always have some new menu items and the preparation is always great. Their Pomegranate Manhattan is excellent! Lots of great wines by the glass too.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Very good experienceDrmickjrVIPDined on 5/20/2014This restaurant features innovative, well-prepared food, including small plates for sharing. Everything we tried was delicious. Great for wine lovers as they have a large and varied selection of wines by the glass.Special Features:
- Outstanding foodfuturzDined on 5/3/2014My wife and I both ordered the pork tenderloin. Best tenderloin we have ever had!! We would definitely return.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Not a better spot in GJ for brunchOpenTable Diner Since 2009Dined on 4/20/2014We enjoyed ourselves this past Sunday for Easter brunch at 626. Food was delicious, service (as always) was fantastic and since the weather was beautiful we were able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the sunshine. We love the fact that when we bring our 3 year old to 626 she can have a nice selection of well prepared "kid's food" instead of the typical fried food and burgers you find at other restaurants. She had grilled free range chicken with peas and carrots and since it was Easter they added some jelly beans as a treat for her. Quick tip...they do not offer high chairs or booster seats. So be prepared or you will end up holding your young ones while they eat.Special Features:
- Great food - great locationjerweeDined on 4/18/2014Always great food, and the atmosphere at 626 is great. Menu is always changing with great choices and specials.Special Features:
- Our meat entrees were excellent--LateSeviceVIPDined on 4/5/2014Our meat entrees were excellent-- rack of lamb, pork tenderloin, and beef tenderloin. However, the beet salad lacked pizazz. We did not order from the tasting menu as it was not well-balanced. Our wine selection turned out to be just so-so, but to be fair we did not follow the waitress recimmendation. We have enjoyed their wine flights in the past.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.

- A gourmet gem!!ConsistentVIPDined on 3/16/2014What a find, driving through Grand Junction on our way back to Carbondale when we blindly made this reservation on open table. 626 on Rood, was not in the bustling old city area, but that didn't matter at all. The ambiance, decor, and details, down to the olive hand cream in their luxurious bathrooms, made this place worth our stop even if we had to go out of our way. Then the food and wine was served to perfection, leaving us practically licking our plates. From breads to dessert, the chef had our tastebud's full attention. We can't wait to drive the 2 hours to visit again!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- 626tmorrisDined on 3/15/2014This restaurant was excellent. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The menu was varied and inventive. The wine list consisted of flights of wine and also wine by the glass or bottle. We choose a flight to start off with ( three half glasses each ) , followed by a bottle of wine. Very nice evening!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Good MealdenvergirlVIPDined on 3/12/2014Good, not great. My salad was excellent, blueberry martini excellent. Lobster mac and cheese good flavor but very little lobster in the dish. The white cake was dry and flavorless. Others in my party enjoyed their food, so perhaps I just made bad menu choices.I would recommend this to a friend.

- Slow service, food undercooked!RaveVIPDined on 2/14/2014Maybe it was the Valentine Day crowd that overwhelmed them. Even so, there is no excuse for slow service and then finally getting your meal not done the way it was requested. We were so famished by the time we got our meal it was too late to complain.Special Features:
- first time wonderful restaurant;gus2gusVIPDined on 2/14/2014first time wonderful restaurant; food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back again.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Amazing experienceKrisDined on 2/14/2014The food was outstanding, by far one of the best dinners. Wine selection and martini's are among the best in town. I highly recommend this restaurant for an evening out. Be prepared to spend some money, but you get what you pay for. You will not be disappointed.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.

- best restaurant in Grand JunctionwirelessGJDined on 1/31/2014Without question 626 On Rood is the best restaurant in Grand Junction and would be top notch in any city. There are always some real (not same as last visit) interesting specials. I often choose one of the fish specials that have clearly been brought in fresh and unique, like Calf sea bass, Wahoo from Florida, Hebi Shortbill Marlin from Hawaii (all checkout sustainable on seafoodwatch) . We also have favorites like the pistachio goat cheese and the duck confit appetizers. The wine flights are fun and provide the opportunity to find a new favorite. The dining area is small but the noise is average. In the summer the outdoor seating can be enjoyable. The wait staff is generally good although occasionally too informal (Grand Junction style).Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Delicious Food, relaxing atmosphereOpenTable Diner Since 2009Dined on 1/27/2014Meals are always delicious . Menu changes regularly. Fresh fish entree will never disappoint. Conversation is easy. No shouting, no straining to hear.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Great birthdayOpenTable Diner Since 2014Dined on 1/23/2014I wanted to finded a nice place with great food that wasn't just your average steak house or Italian restaurant. It was my birthday and I wanted to go someplace where I could wear heals. :). 626 on Rood was great! The staff was very friendly and the food and wine were fantastic (I recommend the buffalo tenderloin and the beef roast!) I wouldn't say this was a nice quiet romantic place but we were seated in the corner and away from the couple tables that had 4-6 people. I would also recommend this place if you just want drinks and greats apps as there were a lot of people at the bar and they seemed to be enjoying their time as well. Overall this is a great place and I'm already looking forward to going back.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Rood - AmazingTanglewoodDined on 12/21/2013We celebrated our wedding anniversary with 626 on Rood, our first time dining here. It's a fairly small restaurant but nicely done inside. We were waited on immediately AND our waitperson wished us a happy anniversary and knew the particulars of our drink order before even talking to us due to reserving on line with Open Table. We had an appetizer, salad and entree and each was perfectly timed. The striped orange marlin was out of this world! They surprised us with a lemon creme brulee which also was outstanding. Our only negative comment would be the "energetic" noise level. If you want a quiet romantic evening over dinner, this is not your place. At times we struggled to hear each other. We still had a wonderful time.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Outstanding experienceJJFoodieVIPDined on 12/11/2013What an enjoyable experience we had from start to finish. We had the non traditional Caesar Salad (not on the menu but they offered it) Excellent. Not a big portion but just enough not to spoil the entree. Had the trout with roasted veggies. It was a huge portion and we are glad we split it. The wine list is amazing. Our dessert was outstanding too… the chocolate pudding. Our server Tom was so knowledgeable and kept good tabs on us. All the staff and managers were so friendly and welcoming. We were well taken care of!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Nice menuMattyDined on 11/25/2013Great atmosphere, complex flavors on the menu. Promote sustainability and local farmers.Special Features:
- A wining and dining experienceMichelleRDined on 10/19/2013It was our first time in Grand Junction and I wanted a special dinner with an opportunity to sample some of the area's delicious wines. What a find! They have a great wine selection with local and not so local wines. The food was fantastic and so was the service. Our waitress was very helpful in helping me select a wine to drink with my entree. She was also a big help in assisting in a dinner selection-I really couldn't decide because everything sounded wonderful. My husband and I can't wait to go back!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Amazing. Fantastic bar staffEvergreenDinerVIPDined on 10/6/2013We ate here with friends following the Tour of the Moon bike ride. The dinner was fantastic and the bar staff was amazing. Our dinner was so good that we actually came back the next night. It will be our go to spot next year after the Tour. If we lived closer, this would be our regular spot.Special Features:
- Love this restaurant!InLuvDined on 9/26/2013Every time I visit Grand Junction I make time to dine here. I took clients this trip and they loved it too! The staff is very knowledgeable about the food, preparation and also about wine pairing recommendations. Overall great experience with amazing food choices!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Great, reliable restaurantBeverleyVIPDined on 9/22/2013Great, reliable restaurant in Grand Junction. The food is always imaginative and delicious. I had the grilled peach caprese salad (lots of peaches and just a few shreds of mozzerella, but when asked, the server brought more) and my husband had the spinach salad - very fresh. We had the grilled shrimp and beef roast entree. The shrimp was light and flavorful, and the beef dish, while a bit dry, was a hearty and delicious dish - perfect for a rainy day. A bit pricey, but we always end up here when on the Western slope.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Post-Bike Race RestorationLeighbVIPDined on 9/21/2013Absolutely the appropriate choice to refuel, relax, restore after a bike race. Discriminating, organic, locavore food fuel for physically-depleted bodies. The wine selections were spot-on, as well. I wish this restaurant was in my city! Well-done; my congrats to the (female) owner and her partner chef. This is a high-culture dining experience in a non-resort Colorado town. Lucky residents!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Fit for Foodies and Winos Too!OpenTable Diner Since 2010Dined on 9/20/2013We came to Grand Junction from Denver, to go to the much anticipated Palisade Winefest. We went to 626 to celebrate our 16-year wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted with a smile (and a menu with our names on it and wishing us a happy anniversary),then taken to a table inside the very-crowded restaurant. It was too loud for my me so I requested an outdoor table and that was the perfect choice. Dominique was our waiter who had a wealth of knowledge about the food and wine. He was fantastic! My only complaint is that the portions are very small for the price and I thought $20 for a glass of one of the better pinots was a little excessive.Special Features:
- Great Food and service...JohnCDined on 9/20/2013Went on a review that food was good and was not disappointed. The menu had many interesting and current interpretations on beef lamb and fish and the portions were good (not too big not too small). Wine list was nice but servers lacked knowledge and some bottles were unavailable. Nonetheless this was a hit and would highly recommend.Special Features:
