Diner Reviews
  • "Great food. Poor service (at least outside). Nice interior design."

  • "The two best places in houston to eat is this place and Da Marco."

  • "What a great find. The specialty drinks were wonderful. The Flounder was yummy. I can't wait to go back. Service was outstanding."

  • "Grest.steak! Food was outstanding but the dessert was just ok! But.the great wine served at the right temperature made up. ."

  • "this place got a lot positive going for it. the food was delicious and the wine nice. a place that i can recommend for sure."

  • "A/C was not working properly for Houston 100 degrees was very uncomfortable to be paying a hefty bill and be sweating. Manager did not offer some time of comp for the uncomfortable time. Probably will not go back due to how expensive it is and lack of management concern."

  • "Bar area was steamy hot. Don't know if it that's the doors face west or if the AC was on the blink the night I went but it was miserably hot in here. Wine recommendation was terrific. Cheese plate was nice and ample. 60 Degree salad was non-descript, sautéed brussel sprouts were WAY TOO salty. Should have sent them back but we were hungry. Beef tips were delicious. Key lime and pecan pies were really good. I think the most surprising thing about 60 Degrees are the extremely high prices. Not sure I'll be back."

  • "There were only 3 other tables with customers during lunch The quality of the "best beef in the world" was similar to the pre-packaged steaks at wal-mart The chicken was dry The water tasted like it was straight from the faucet with no filter The Parmesan crusted asparagus was fried and left nothing but the stringy carcass of what was probably nice asparagus prior to frying Overall, the food did not live up to the hype Oh, and the prices......you could enjoy a very nice dinner at Tony's for the prices this place charged Based on my observations, if you want overpriced, overhyped food, you better hurry to visit 60 degrees because I believe their doors will be closed within 60 days."

  • "This place is very consistent! The Akaushi beef is AMAZING!!! A must try!!! I will admit it was a bit warm inside, not sure if the air was not working, but we had a wonderful meal and I plan to go back soon! My group was there for dinner, I suggest trying lunch, the meal portions are better suited for a nice lunch."

  • "It may be offered at dinner, too, but I've only been during lunch. Good food variety, fair portions and terrific location between downtown and Galleria area. During my first visit the service was slow, but with my reservation the second time around I mentioned that this was a quick business lunch. Our server could not have been more accommodating."

  • "Went for what we thought would be lunch at 1pm but only the brunch menu was available, which was only ok. There was live music being played which was ridiculously loud, to the point where u could hardly hold a conversation or hear the waiter"

  • "Great food. Great music. Loved it. Would recommend the Korean burger. Not really a place for kids which is great."

  • "Discover this interesting restaurant. Superior wine sommelier and recommendations. Tasty menu with some interesting, unique choices. Our large group unanimously enjoyed it and will be back"

  • "Excellent service and the management team was attentive to each customer in the restaurant. A place I would recommend - for business, for casual dining and for a romantic night out."

  • "Excellent addition to the Houston restaurant scene. One feels warmly welcomed, excellent food at reasonable prices in a nice atmosphere. Chef owner came to say hi, which is always appreciated"

  • "Good choice for a business lunch. I'm anxious to go back for dinner with my wife."

  • "I really enjoyed this place! Food was incredible and the restraunt was beautiful. The wine list and bar could both be a bit bigger, would be I only criticism but I would definitely eat here again and often.."

  • "The building formerly housing Armando's, Palazzo's and several others in between, has been repurposed with a beautiful glass wall that looks out onto an inviting patio. My salad was pretty disappointing - I ordered the chopped salad but the waiter said it would be too much, so thought I was ordering a half-portion - but what I got was a few baby greens, some red onion, and not much else for $7. Otherwise, the food was delicious. My snapper was perfectly cooked with a brilliant citrus-y sauce, and my husband's lamb looked spectacular. The waiter didn't know the wine list very well but I located a great gruner veltliner that complemented my meal perfectly."

  • "the restaurant is overrated for the price of food. the food is not exceptional especially for the prices"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "I am very pleased to say that I've eaten at 60 Degrees 4 or 5 times and have yet to be disappointed. The steak melts in your mouth, and the wine list is eclectic. If I could change anything, I would give some flavor to the Brussels sprouts!"

  • "We've only eaten at 60 degreess at lunch time, so far. My husband and I agree that these were the best burgers we've ever eaten! The Akaushi beef is wonderfully moist, tender and flavorful. The buns and sweet potato fries are equally delicious! My girlfriend exclaimed at how tasty her veggie burger was. We look forward to going back for dinner."

  • "went for brunpe.....it's overprocedch. service was okay food and selection just average. bloody marys above average. we dine out a lot and had heard about this place, however, the experience did not meet the hy"

  • "We had really good burgers. The decor is good looking."

  • "The restaurant valet blocks off the parking lot, so you must valet your car with a stranger or find parking behind the apartment complex. The fixed price lunch is $37 per person, this includes the cold buffet and a choice of 1 of 5 or 6 entrees. I ordered the chicken and waffles where 1 of the chicken fingers was served with raw batter, so it was not edible. The waffles at Liberty Kitchen or Benji's are tastier. I tried my wife's flank steak which was much better, but I expected a finer cut of meat. I think l prefer a place like Fogo de Chao or Backstreet Cafe. Based on my brunch experience, I do not recommend this place."

  • "Heavy on meat dishes but has an excellent veggie entree."

  • "My wife and I ate here, but left not satisfied. We'll not return to this restaurant due to the service, which is poor. We waited for 10 minutes just to have someone take our drink order (and given the margin on drinks, you would think they would want us to start drinking the second we arrive!). One waiter poured still water into our still half-full glasses of sparkling water, and so on and so forth. The appetizer (which was a bacon-wrapped chicken item was tasty, but came out a little dry) came out fast, but then we waited at least 30 minutes for our main dishes to come out. My wife's fish stew was good, with a light and tasty broth with an infusion of saffron. My fish was prepared well, but wasn't particularly memorable."

  • "Our dining experience began with a rude hostess and continued with slow, disconnected, uncaring service by the two different waiters who served us. The food that arrived at a snails pace was good but the service pretty much sealed the deal for never returning to this restaurant."

  • "Been here twice now. The service is subpar and the food is not that great."

  • "Dined on the patio on a rare humidity free H-town night. Glorious!! I've been coming since it opened and the food and service never fail."

  • "Although red meat is their specialty, we found plenty of delicious option. The grab was plentiful atop the non-fried green tomatoes. The nightly fish special was tasty. It woul be nice if they posted their menu on Open Table. I have passed over it numerous times due to this."

  • "Even better the second time around. Had a very enjoyable meal this past weekend. Service was very attentive. Loved the recommendations of somm Vanessa. Chef Fritz and his personable wife came out to greet us and other tables. food was very good. Our only complaint is that the acoustics in the back room are not very good. We will be back!"

  • "I went on a busy Saturday night with 9 friends and the place was packed, but the service was not lacking. Our server Roberto was excellent he was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food came out hot and was full of flavor. I had the free range blue foot chicken. It was moist and full of flavor. I would definitely recommend this place to others!"

  • "We came to celebrate one of ours sons birthdays here. We came an hour early during happy hour to enjoy the cocktails and great prices on whiskey. Service and food were excellent. Stayed for almost 4 hours and never felt rushed. A very laid. Ack atmosphere. Good selection of wine. My wife said the lamb she ordered was one of the best she has eaten. Steaks were unreal. "

  • "Six of us met for lunch, all of our first time to this lovely restaurant. Space was very light and comfortable. The food was terrific. We had a variety of different dishes and everyone was very happy with what they at. Primarily a meat venue, there are still lots of choices for non-meat eaters including a beautiful beet burger and salads for vegetarians. I will definitely come back again."

  • "i booked for a special occasion based on chefs fame, quite honestly the food was average which considering the level of the chef is actually low. One example of sub-standard cooking, when I bit into my poached egg I was rewarded with a mouthfull of the dirty water used to poach it. This is just poor culinary technique and no quality control. As for ambiance the live music was made up of latin american classics played at every tone possible except the right one"

  • "Everyone said it was great. The bit size dessert bar was a hit. Overall we had a great experience. Service was marvelous. Fritz came by our table to make sure all was okay. We will come back again. We Love it "

  • "Food was OK, not great. Their meat is their best selling point and that they do very nicely. "
    Dined on 5/24/2014
  • "Although everything we had was high quality ingredients and cooked well, the flavor profiles were lackluster. All dishes were bland with the exception of the chili which was excellent. There was a long wait for food and between courses but the staff was attentive with refilling waters. For the price, it was disappointing in comparison to other restaurants in the city. Decor and ambiance were very nice. "
