Diner Reviews
  • "Dined here twice for lunch (1) 10 coworkers and (2) Houston Restaurant Weeks. So impressed with everything - app/entrée/sides/dessert. Group split a 30oz steak and ordered entrees/salads/sides. For HRW, my friend and I split the burger and sea bass - delish! I highly recommend the onion rings (huge, served in a tower), brussels sprouts, & mac/cheese. While we were there, someone ordered the $100 burger (yes, you read that right!) and the staff made a big commotion - even rang the old western 'come to dinner' triangle bell. Restaurant is clean and modern, lots of service people and attention to detail. If I had one complaint, it would be the noise level, but that just says to me that it's a hot spot and people are excited to be there!"

  • "A friend of mine and I decided to try 60 Degrees for lunch for Houston Restaurant Week. Valet-only parking was a real turn-off, especially when we had to wait 15 minutes to get our cars after a long lunch and trying to get back to the office. The food was tasty and offerings were unique, but I really did not appreciate the chef's/restaurant's "snub" when I was served my main course. The presentation consisted of small to medium burger placed all the way on the right of on an elongated rectangular plate, with an obvious void that shouted out "I am cheap and didn't order any accompaniments."(like fries we saw others were served), although I was never offered that option. Also, my burger was missing the tomato mentioned on the menu."

  • "We arrived at 60 Degrees Mastercrafted for lunch. We were shown to a table and given menu. A waiter approached and asked what we wanted to order. No do you have any questions about the menu, no would you like something to drink, nothing. Food was good but the waiter made the experience unpleasant. Even the valet parking attendant was very nice."

  • "During Houston Restaurant Weeks, we try new restaurants. We live in the neighborhood and decided to try 60 Degrees Mastercrafted. We will return. Our waiter was attentive and readily available. The menu was diverse."

  • "The resturant is smaller than you'd expect, which equates to the perfect size. Food and services was outstanding. We will dine here again. Btw there is a $200 burger on the menu, I'm intrigued!"

  • "My friends and I went here for the first time as part of HRW for lunch and I have to say that all three of us were so impressed that we went back to the office and immediately made another reservation so that we could all go back next week to try what we didn't get to the first go round. For appetizers we had the smoked salmon (perfect combination of flavors on this one!) and the chopped salad. Our entrees were the sea bass and the akaushi burger, along with a side of sweet potato fries. Both were incredible, and I consider myself a burger and sweet potato fries connoisseur. For dessert, we had the pecan balls and cream brule, with the pecan balls (actually, it is ice cream wrapped in pecans atop fudge and cream) coming out of top."

  • "This was our first visit and we both loved it. We went during Houston Restaurant Weeks and got the 4 course set menu along with the wine paring. The wine and food pairing was spot on and the service was excellent. The second course was an heirloom tomato and watermelon salad. I was skeptical since I don't like watermelon, but was feeling adventurous and boy was I glad I did. It was delicious as was the rest of our choices. My husband and I got different items for each course so we could sample both. We'll definitely be back!"

  • "Dined on a Wednesday evening during Hosuton Resturant Weeks and had the HRW menue with wine paring. The 4 course meal was excellent but the activity and noise level were very high for mid week. Overall the service was good with some gaps on timing due to a very busy house. Conversation was difficult and the seating/tables were arranged very close together. This farm to table resturant is hitting on all cylinders for food quality and preperation. Would suggest some sound dampening wall and ceiling treatment to take the noise down and improve the accoustics for reasonable converstion."

  • "I have been to this restaurant plenty of times, but I was disappointed that when I try to impress a guest for lunch, the portion size (Sea Bass from the restaurant week menu) was completely disappointing. I always have reservations regarding restaurant week, b/c I feel restos don't put their best foot forward, therefore I typically order from the regular menu. If you are not going to offer your best... DON'T PARTICIPATE."

  • "A group of us went for HRW and we all agreed that it was the best food/experience in the years we have been going to HRWs! The service was great and the food was fantastic. While we were a group of 4, the only negative is 2-top tables are seated too close together - almost family style and we could hear people trying to talk over each other since they were seated so close together. Other than that the place is great."

  • "Being one that is picky about steak quality along with appropriate cooked this place was spot on!"

  • "I hope this restaurant mkes it in this jinxed location where so many restaurants have failed previously. OUr meals were outstanding. Everything was prepared flawlessly. The servers seemed a little frantic as Restaurant Week and large parties made it very busy for them."

  • "The food was great. Portion size was just right. The restaurant was incredibly loud and it was difficult to talk with my wife. Combined with extremely slow service it was frustrating to have limited conversation while waiting long periods between courses. For the price, I can't recommend it for a romantic dinner because it is simply too loud. The food was the redeeming element of the evening, but with the incredibly restaurant selection in Houston there are other places to go with better ambiance and excellent food at this price point."

  • "Master chef gitscner is worthy of a Michelin star if they gave them out in the US. Honestly one of the best meals ever. The chic restaurant has unbelievable food and great service-each course was special for all of our group. Master chef is the holy grail of chefs and he lives up to it-what a thrill for Houston to have a restaurant as good as the French Laundry and other iconic restaurants. The restaurant is filled with hip young attractive people and is obviously the place to go. The handsome minimal décor does not absorb much of the sound of happy diners-so book early of just go to enjoy the fabulous food and intelligent wine pairings. Glad we went restaurant week as we got to taste so many dishes-truly masterfully crafted."

  • "We went on restaurant month. I like to try new restaurants and this was a winner. Tasty and delicious. Had the chicken picatta and pecan balls for dessert."

  • "Went for restaurant week (lunch). The blackened sea bass was excellent! My chopped salad was a disappointment as it was just a bunch of ingredients throw in with a bit of dressing. It didn't do anything for me. Hobby's chilled curry soup was good. The creme brûlée was good, but the 'cake' under the strawberry Dessert was so dense but it takes a knife to cut. I would recommend the fish but not anything else."

  • "We booked a table for lunch last week with the HRW menu. The food was very good and service was excellent. We would definitely go back. They had a nice wine list, but we didn't have wine at lunch. My husband had the smoked salmon starter and the sea bass main course, both were excellent. I had the salad starter (good, but I wish I would have tried another starter~ something I would not make at home) and the chicken/pasta main course, it was excellent as well."

  • "We had a great dining experience for Houston's annual Restaurant Week! The menu was well put together and the pairings were excellent! Our waiter was on point and had a great sense of humor. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Came in for lunch - no one at the reception for 10 minutes - The chef was sitting at the bar for a meeting asked if we needed help after I waved to my friend. Had to get the bartender to seat us even with a reservation and a pretty busy restaurant midday. Noise level is unacceptable. We had to yell across a small table for two - and had to repeat our order to the waiter multiple times. Food was great, but service could be improved. Lack of attention to water, drinks, and overall service was disappointing. Our server went out of his way to prove my friend wrong - and seriously wondering if he was looking for no tip. It was almost confrontational. As good patrons, we left 20%, but seriously considered saying something to management."

  • "The food was okay, but not what I would have expected for the prices. The servers were very nice and very friendly, although it took a really long time to get the dessert, and then the check. Very attractive interior, and while I am used to loud places, here it was so noisy that it was uncomfortable."

  • "6-0 has a great lunch menu for Houston Restaurant Weeks with or without wine pairings. I can't wait to go back for what I consider to be the best burger in the city. And everything else is top notch, too!"

  • "The food is good and the service is great. We could not wait to get out of there due to the noise level. It was so loud, you could not hear yourself think. You could not have a good conversation with your friends. The waiter introduced himself and we could not hear his name, or what he said about the menu. The service was extremely attentive and the food was good. However, we will not go back. The experience was what will be remembered, and that left us with a headache! Too bad. The munu looked so good, we wanted to try more."

  • "We tried 60 Degrees Mastercrafted during Houston Restaurant weeks and boy are we glad we did. There were three of us and we tried each of the 3 choices for each course, so we tasted everything they served. It was all very tasty. Nice decor and great food makes for an enjoyable evening. We are looking forward to going back again to enjoy the food and service again!"

  • "Our first trip to 60 Degrees Mastercraft; we had mixed emotions about trying this new spot but when it came up on Houston Restaurant Week we jump on the opportunity. When we arrived (with reservations) the main dining room was full so we were seated in the "side room" where few tables were occupied. Our waiter approached us and was courteous knowledgeable and friendly, so we didn’t feel we were “put out back.” But once the room filled it had the noise level of a rock concert; we had to scream to hear each other across the table. NOT what we expected from an upscale gourmet restaurant. If you can overlook this the food and wine pairings were MARVELOUS!! The four course portions were perfect and the wine pours with each course, great!"

  • "Tried the HRW menu with wine pairing. As usual the food was tasty, well seasoned with a lovely presentation. I had the chicken piccatta and my lunch companion had the salmon; we finished it off with the white chocolate crème brulee. The service was friendly and prompt; making sure to check on us and how we liked each course. Ever since it opened, this restaurant has maintained a level of excellence EVERY single time I've visited."

  • "I had high expectations for this place as I've been yearning to visit this place for a while now. I visited this place to kick off restaurant weeks and I was a little disappointed. All four of my courses were very subpar and nothing memorable. Our service was average however each course took an extremely long time to come out. The ambiance and decor however are very nice. I was excited when I stepped in but not so much when I left. 3 1/2 stars."

  • "In a market like Houston a restaurant this expensive needs to be on their "A" game. This place does not even get a "D". Over priced, poor service and bad food."

  • "We have been here 4 times. The menu and food are terrific. The service is well intentioned but slugish. Like 90 % of all restaurants, the noise level is close to intolerable."

  • "This was my 2nd time dining here. We asked for the same waiter, because he was good the previous time. He actually remembered us. The menu changes daily, and we wanted the exact same thing that we ate previously. Unfortunately that was not on the menu for the day. The waiter actually went to the back and spoke with the chef. He catered to our request somewhat, and sent out some similar dishes. These dishes were actually better than our previous dining experience. The manager was also delightful. He seemed concerned about our request for items that weren't on the menu as well. From the hostess, waiter, chef, and manager, they all made sure it was great dining experience! We will be back soon for the great food and awesome service."
