The food was outstanding. Started with the artichoke fondue served hot with flatbread. Continued with onion soup also flavorful loaded with Swiss cheese. Our main courses scallops and chiopino were delicious as well as the Nutella cheese cake which was devine. The atmosphere would have been better without the 3 large groups dining there. We could have picked a different night if we knew. Our waiter was required to serve our table plus a group of 19+. This made our service a little slow.

I enjoyed a very delicious lunch in a lovely setting all the while discussing plans for an upcoming project. There were four of us and we appreciated the service which was prompt but unobtrusive, and the noise level which was refreshingly quiet. The patio was being worked on so we were not able to sit outdoors but I have enjoyed dining on the patio in the past and it is lovely.

Was looking for a quiet place for a group of friends to go Saturday evening to get a relief from the flood. Never heard of Five but found it on OpenTable. It was the perfect spot for a quiet dinner. We sat in the courtyard and enjoyed a relaxing and delicious meal. The appetizers were excellent and my salmon was perfectly prepared. The desserts were decadent. I would highly recommend Five and my friends and I plan to return.

This was our fourth visit to 5ive restaurant, the first time for lunch. Service was excellent and my husband's pulled pork sandwich was very good. When I first saw the term "entree salad" for $18, I thought the price was high, but that the salad would be huge--I was very hungry. Imagine my surprise when the server presented a dinner-sized salad with four measly pieces of chicken, two cashew nuts, and one bit of feta cheese. The salad was yummy, but I left the table famished! Really, $18 for a small salad? Exorbitant!

Went here on a Sunday. Food was pretty good - nice selection of food and not too pricy. Would have been a much better experience except that apparently they don't wipe the seat down between patrons. I was there on a Sunday afternoon and were probably the first table of the day from what it looks like for dining. The other person in my party had white pants on and, upon standing up to leave, it was pretty clear that there were chocolate chips/frosting on the booth seat and subsequently all over her pants. Not just in one spot, but all up one leg and the other. Quite embarrassing and ruined our plans to go out after. Unfortunate that ruined such a potentially nice experience.

The menu when I was there last June was good -- nice variety. This June I felt there was too much emphasis on Mexican type food. The spices and descriptions do not appeal to those of us without a great like for hot and/or mexican spiced food. I thought the addition of a few oriental dishes was a nice option.

We had been to 5ive before last February and were quite pleased with the service and the food. Unfortunately this time we were not so lucky. Our waiter, who was also the bartender, seemed indifferent. When we inquired about the preparation of a mushroom dish, he muttered something about that they just change the title of the dish according to the season. So, these were not morel mushrooms? He shrugged. That lackadaisical approach seems unprofessional.. The drinks were quite weak, tasted watered down. This time there was no bread basket with an assortment of rolls. We will not be back. It is not that the food was bad--in fact, my chicken dish was excellent, but we spent a lot of money for a dinner that was pretty much so-so.

We went to Five on a weekend and there was NOBODY in the restaurant. You would think that would translate into a lot of attention from the wait staff...NOPE! We had horrible service. In fact, we sat at our table for 30 minutes after dinner with our waitress never once coming by to ask us if we want a refill of water or another drink. Luckily the food we ordered was fantastic. I rated the restaurant low due to service and prices. I ordered scallops and for $33 I got 3 scallops and about 1/4 cup of risotto. Now I am not a big eater and I almost always take 1/2 my meal home when we go out to eat because the proportions are usually HUGE. Not this time! I had to eat again when I got home because I was still hungry!!!

3/31/2014 I was a little concerned about going here due to the sketchy reviews I was seeing, but we decided to give it a chance. We made a reservation and requested a booth based upon several reviews regarding small tables near the main traffic pattern. The booths were very nice, however a little tight for 4 people. I was very impressed that not only did they read the reservation -they noted the vegetarian request and indicated which items were vegetarian as they handed us the menu. Everything we ordered was wonderful. Everyone in our party was happy with their meals. The server was competent and attentive, with us and the other patrons. The brownie turtlle pie was better than expected. Give the restaurant a visit!

My meal, "sea bass" special, was very good and dessert, a blackberry and pear cobbler was excellent. My wife's salmon was average and "dusted" with a crunchy millet which ruined the consistency. Wine list is fine. The decor is nice but way too bright for evening dining- they need to add dimmer switches. Service was very good. It was a very slow night so I can't say how they are on a busy night. I would recommend it , particularly if you are in the neighborhood and I can't say I wouldn't go back but the competition probably wins for me, particularly since it's not in my immediate neighborhood.

Each person in our party of four ordered a different entree and we were all highly pleased with our meals, including the three different desserts. My only complaint would be with the cocktails. Not only were the glasses unimpressive, but the quantity of liquor within could not have been any less. Normally, I have two martinis before my meal. In this case, I decided not to throw my money away.

Though we requested a booth, and one was available, we were not afforded the option to move. Our seats were along the main walkway, so that was not ideal. Nevertheless, the food was very good though, and our waitress was fantastic. We were also confused by the inclusion of a 20% service fee along with a separate line for a tip. If they were expecting both (I.e. 40%), they were sorely disappointed as we stopped at the service fee.

This was our second visit First visit NYE we a a large comfy booth. When I made reservations in January on Open Table I mentioned we were making it a valentines get away. 2 things the small tables for two ( this is where were set this time) are kind of cramped. The lady next to me kept hitting the back of my chair. 2nd comment- 22 % service charge is a Tip. We actually tipped twice. It's listed as a service charge at the bottom if menu but never calls it a tip or that it applies to the server. We are fairly new "foodies" & never been disappointed with the menu. My BLD breakfast burger the next morning for breakfast was an amazing dish as well. Next time I'll ask for larger table not in the aisle. Still a wonderful experience in dining.

We got the 5 course set Valentine's menu and enjoyed everything. The smaller portions of multiple appetizers and desserts helped us avoid getting too full and we walked out of there feeling pretty good. If anything I would say they cheaped out on the wine pairings a bit so we might have been better off just choosing our own drinks. They probably could have gotten a 4 star overall out of us if the pricing wasn't so high. Our bill was over $200 and we did not feel like we had a that level of an experience. When I spend that much at Morton's or even Fleming's, I feel like we get a lot more "wow, that was really good" type moments. So to be clear, good food, just a bit overpriced.

We had heard wonderful things about 5ive, as well as reading reviews on Open Table. The meal was one of the best we have had. My calamari was perfect as was my mushroom-stuffed chicken breast. I give everything a rave review. My husband had ahi tuna and he iss quite fussy. He loved it. Our dessert, some kind of turle/chocolate/mousse creation stole the show. Booked last minute in opentable as I did not know I was going to be in Michigan for New Year's Eve . Was unaware it was a $60 a plate Prix Fare meal. Not a big deal in the scheme if things. Sat at a table for two that was obviously placed in the traffic area. We ordered the Filet dinners one Medium Well and one Medium rare. We had the 8:30 sitting so we were starved . Both steaks came medium rare. The bill with 20% gratuity and a $47 bottle of wine came to $232.00. I have no problem paying for a fine meal. This just wasn't a $232 dinner we had.

I planned an outing for Sweeties Day with my husband and another couple. My friend and I had looked over the menu a week prior and had everything planned out. Upon arrival, we found the entire menu changed and nothing was of interest to us so we had to leave and eat elsewhere which kind of messed up our plans. I will say that the breakfast/brunch we had there the next morning was AMAZING!! If I went back to this restaurant it would be because of the wonderful breakfast spread. Limited menu but very well done. Enjoyed a few little surprises, like perfectly done flash fried kale (with the pork sampler), fresh spring rolls of pickled julienne carrots wrapped in rice paper (that complemented the salmon perfectly), and sliced hearts of palm in the house salad. The portions did not look very large but I left quite full. The restaurant seemed a bit stuffy at first but the adjacent bar had a lively crowd which I liked.
