  • "We had eaten once before at 555 last year and found the food and service to be average at best and a price tag of $400 for 2 with wine. We decided to give 555 another try this year. On checking in for our 730 reservation we were told the wait would be an hour and would get whatever table was first available. The bar was so packed we couldn't get to order anything and the waiting area was overflowing. We waited 30 minutes and they said it would be another 30-40 minutes as there were still 4 parties ahead of us. We asked what the point of making the reservation was and how they could possibly overbook so badly. The hostess was rude and curt and directed us back to the bar. We left and had a lovely dinner at Sevilla. Will not try again."

  • "We love this place for steaks. It's a no nonsense place that is refined and does not have the air of those chain-steak houses. It's in a great area of long beach that keeps developing and attracting more and more businesses. Wine selection is not cumbersome and has good options. It's not cheap because the food isn't. If you eat red meat come here."

  • "Read reviews of this restaurant and decided to check it out. Definitely not disappointed, the food is exceptional and the service was very good. Even though traffic getting there was tight due to activities related to the Gran Prix, we still made it in time and were seated right away. We had the filet mignons, very good and cooked just the way we like. The table across from us ordered a Ceaser salad that looked delish, so will try that next time too. Our neighbor has eaten here too and told us Good Choice! Can't wait to go back and try the salmon and swordfish."

  • "I have never had such great service. The drinks are unmatched. Besides 320 main in seal beach. The steaks were perfectly cooked. I had the prime rib eye medium rare with a crab prepared Oscar style on top. With perfectly moved garlic potatoes and all a top crisp asparagus"

  • "Had our son's birthday here. It was his pick. We all had a wonderful time. I had the twin south African lobster tails and they were to die for. Everyone else had steaks and loved them. Our server was great! He had a terrific personality. He had a couple of minor slip ups but on the whole our experience could not have been much better. Can't wait to return."

  • "The steaks were the best. I ordered the culotte cut, it was a little chewy for my taste but it had a good flavor but I was disappointed with the texture. My girlfriend ordered The fillet mignon and it melted in my mouth like butter. If your a steak enthusiast, I recommend the fillet. The service is top of the line and the glass of wine can get a little pricey but hey, it's an excellent place for special occasions."

  • "Maybe not a "hidden" gem to locals in Long Beach, but for someone visiting from out of the area this establishment will be visited every time I am in the area. For those who rate "good old" American steak houses as a preferred eating establishment "555" is a worthy competitor to the famous "prime chains" available in most major cities. My dinner partner and I shared a large prime rib eye and a twin lobster dinner - impeccably prepared exactly as requested. Really don't remember enjoying a "surf and turf" more in recent years. If in Long Beach, California I suggest that this establishment become a regular stop."

  • "Always a good experience, but the doneness of our usual Rib-eye order has varied on occasion. This time a little overdone . Last time underdone. Great baked potato, wedge salad. To summarize, it's hard to fault a place that allows you to bring your own great bottle of wine regardless of whether it's on their list or not and charge you ZIP! So I'd like to upgrade to 31/2 stars."

The ambiance of this restaurant is immpecable. It's like stepping into the past when a great restaurant was just a great restaurant. It's a little on the high end but, well worth it."

They were right on the same page about the food, the atmosphere, and service. We had a wonderful time and we were able to enjoy a great dining experience. Our server, Robert, made an already good time exceptional with his attentiveness, and professional demeanor. We will be back!"

We didn't get immediate bread and water service as others claimed, waiter was a bit curt and abrupt at first but warmed up later. We ordered the grilled artichoke based on rave reviews- it must have been an off day for the artichoke- totally unimpressive- almost yuck. We shared the wedge salad- that was good but have had better (I prefer ice cold lettuce, dressing to be thick and luxuriate over the lettuce). I ordered rib eye- quite tasty, Husband ordered filet and it was divine. Baked potato was HUGE and nicely prepared. lovely wine inventory. Would we go back to 555? Possibly."

We opted to wait for a few minutes for the booth. When seated we enjoyed fabulous food, terrific waiter Brian, and we enjoyed the piano player who played the entire time we were there without a break. What a truly great restaurant!!!"

  • "We had reservations, were greeted and seated promptly. Water and bread arrived within thirty seconds of us sitting down. Everything was delivered quickly and perfectly. We started with a bottle of Markham Red with grilled artichoke appetizers. For dinner, we ordered a Prime Top Sirloin and a Bone-In Cowboy Ribeye. Both steaks were cooked exactly to order. Very mouth watering, can still remember the taste two weeks later! We never had to refill our own wine glasses. We had the bread pudding for dessert (which they gave us for free since we went for a birthday). You will not regret a penny you spend here!"
