While the calamari was great, if you have to choose, go with the roasted garlic and feta cheese. The best! PS...I always appreciate a confirmation reservation phone call, which 555 did. It was a great experience for a special occasion."

  • "We love visiting 555 East whenever we stay in Long Beach, which is usually at least once a year. I've heard my friends rave about the steaks, and they do look excellent. I haven't eaten beef for years but I'm able to find a few dishes on the menu to make me happy. They have a wonderful beet & Humboldt blue goat cheese salad that I can't wait to have again. The Caesar salad for two is made table-side and looks wonderful - I heard no complaints. They have a good wine list, but you can also bring your own. Not sure what the corkage is. All in all a great place. You leave full & satisfied & quite a bit lighter in the pocket. This is not a discount eatery."

  • "My husband and I have been coming here since before we had children (ages 8 and 6). We are never disappointed with the food nor the service. We do save this place only for special occasions - like Father's Day or a celebration - but each time is great. The food never, ever disappoints! And now that we have small children, this place still works for us. It's not too stuffy that the kids have to remain uncomfortably still for the duration of the dinner. We love 555 East and can't wait to come back for the next special occasion."

  • "Made reservations to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Showed up about 15 minutes before our reservation time of 8pm, and was told it would be closer to that time before we were seated, so we went to the bar. At about 8:10 we check with the hostess to see whether we should order another drink at the bar or if we'd be seated soon, and were told that she remembered what we looked like and she would come find us when our table was ready. The bartender was nice enough to comp us each a drink for our wait and we were finally seated about 8:25pm. Our server was great, food came out perfectly, and the rest of the evening was very nice. Besides the snotty hostess, I would highly recommend this place for a special occasion."

  • "This place is hands down all around an awesome experience. I tried lobster tails here for the first time, and even the warm bread they serve with the butter is so tasty! Very nice, elegant decor. I great place for fine dinner or a special night out. The service is always immaculate. By the end of the night after the amazing experience and service, you will not even look twice at the bill. Well worth it. A must try! Their hot lava cake for dessert is always a must. A+++ Easy and safe parking- Valet 10$ ! Want to have a great experience, enjoy amazing food, and impress your date all in one? This is the place !!!"

  • "My darling and I decided that we would enjoy some delicious steak at one of our favorite restaurants. 555. We arrived at 8:45 pm and it was surprisingly peaceful... I suppose it was crowded earlier that evening but I enjoyed every minute of it. The special attention from the concierge, the attentiveness of the waiter and the Managers frequent visits made us feel quite welcome. Overall, the food is exceptional!! I love the Clam chowder,the garlic mashed potatoes, and of course... the Filet Mignon!!"

The table next to us had the loudest lady I've ever been around. She was really obnoxious. The other tables and her table companions were all reasonable. Overall, it was a great evening."

  • "My wife and I had the cowboy rib eye blackened cajun steak. It was the highlight of the evening. The service wasn't acceptable. We went on Memorial Day and had reservations. It was slow. It took the server 10 minutes before coming over to say anything. What he did say, was I will be right with you. Another server came by & asked if we have been helped & that he would be assisting the other server for the time being. He got our drinks & was helpful. After 10 minutes the other server made his way over to our table. Never greeted us or apologized for the wait. Never gave us any recommendations even at dessert time. We were also surprised the mgr never came by to greet us especially as slow as it was. He definitely had time & opportunity."

  • "Ordered cocktails to begin dinner; they were fine but I don't recommend the "Old Cuban" if you're not a mimosa-type. Shrimp appetizer not very special, but traditional. Onion soup was slightly burnt, though still very good. Steaks were awesome, both the NY strip and the 12oz filet. Service was professional and attentive. The restaurant is great, highly recommended for special occasions; pay your rent first. "

Fine dining should NOT include a view of the television. TV has no place in such a restaurant. It is innately distracting to those facing it (which is a large portion of the seating), big and bright. Can't we go two hours without TV? It's in the bar, I get that, but you could totally class up the joint by removing it, or leaving it off until an emergency (or when Long Beach is in The World Series ). We brought wine, and bought wine, great wine list and skillful wine service!"

  • "Everything perfecto EXCEPT the table adjacent to us w/six boisterous men yukin' it UP way TOOOOOOOOOOOOO loud, or should we say ONLY one (1) of em, belligerently almost yelling his constant narrative, laced w/the F-word, in every remark! It's UP to the restaurant mgmt to quell situations like these and NOT coerce the other patrons to advise em to keep it down especailly the cursing. WHAT if I had had my family there w/young kids! OR do u want me to have to get up fr my table and walk over there to threaten the punk to SHUT HIS VILE MOUTH! U need to add another category to the noise level: TOO LOUD!"
