The food is worth the price listed due to its overall size of portion and flavor. My pork chop was cooked to perfection. My partner's pasta was al dente, and the ingredients were fresh and top notch. This was my fourth time at 54 Mint, and it never disappoints. My dining partner had the gnocci special which was very good. However, the restaurant was out of the lamb and I ordered the pork chop which the waiter stated was one of his favorite menu items. Well, the pork chop was enormously thick (~1.5") and I could barely cut into it with a steak knife. Needless to say, it was very tough. I mentioned it to the waiter and he did not offer to take it back or do anything about it. Disappointing. Our group was four adults and two kids and the restaurant accommodated our many requests with ease. The food was delicious - I recommend trying as many different dishes as possible. Standouts were the salads, the burrata and asparagus starter, the flatbread of the day, and every one of the the pastas we tried - oxtail ragu, regular ragu (for the kids) and the black pepper pasta.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
