I have been at 51fifteen at least a dozen times with groups from 2 to 12 and have never been disappointed. They had a great menu which was made up of both brunch items and lunch and dinner entrees. Loved my lobster and shrimp salad. I look forward to trying other things to see if I can find anything that comes close to the absolutely unbelievably exquisite flavor of their lobster bisque. The omelets were good, too, and my waffles and bacon were quite tasty as well.
The service was a perfect mix of attentive and helpful, but not overly pushy. This is a most excellent find; it is amazing how many times we have driven by this place without realizing it was right there on the second floor of Saks all along! I had their special, which was Halibut that day. The person that met me there had the vegetable plate, which looked great. You usually think a vegetable plate is going to be puny, but not the one here, it was a real entree. I can't wait to come back when I'm not there for business so that I can try some of their wine, or their bar on the third floor, apparently they've got coffee, a bunch of different tequilas and whiskeys. SERVICE WAS GREAT. WHEN OUR SERVER BROUGHT OUT HER COMPLIMENTARY CAKE, THE PIANO PLAYER PLAYED A HAPPY BDAY SONG FOR HER. IT MADE THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE SPECIAL. OH, AND THE FOOD IS GREAT TOO. Dishes familiar from prior ownership were seasoned strangely and did not taste good. I gave it another try, this time for dinner, only because it was convenient for me and my guest. This visit was much different/better. We both had the special sea bass with crabmeat, spinach, and risotto. The fish was firm and flavorful; the sauce was substantial but not too heavy. It was well seasoned and we both found it very tasty. From the moment we walked into the restaurant the young woman at the entrance greeted us like old friends and took us right to our table. The waiter, Manuel, was superb. He was attentive, efficient, and he actually listened to us! He made some very good suggestions and was probably be best and most memorable waiter we've had at any restaurant. The food was delicious and the portions were perfect. The menu was so good it was difficult to decide what to order. Food was fast, delicious and was a culinary 5 star. Staff was efficient but not bothersome at all. Comfortable seating and perfect lighting for the occasion.
