Two weeks earlier, I had been recommended to go to this restaurant, but the person couldn't remember the name. All they said, was it was down the street from 42nd Oyster Bar and Grill and so, after dinner, we took a quick walk. Wouldn't you know it, 518 West was just down the street from the Oyster restaurant. The hit at our table were the pancakes - Bananas Foster & blueberry, both were delicious. Free valet parking a plus since the parking deck was a bit confusing with numbered spaces and no "visitor" spaces marked clearly. This time was no exception. Our group had chicken marsala, salmon, chicken parm, and a pizza. Everything was great. We were impressed with the number og gluten-free options. Server could not have been any better. She took care of a special request, made good suggestions for meal choices, and never let a glass go empty. I had a pasta dish with a pesto and the garlic was so strong it burned my mouth and completely overtook the dish. The millionaires pie was good, but over the top rich. Our crab dip was luke-warm when it came out. It would be a great place for a drink and dessert. Everything I have gotten has been outstanding!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Brunch!First time brunch guest. Had a party of 5, restaurant atmosphere,seating location and service was excellent. We arrived and were promptly directed to our seating location which proved to be idle. The low noise atmosphere and quality service enhanced the brunch orders that were served not only timely but were delicious. Our server did an outstanding job.
I'll also add that we had a birthday celebration within the group and notification was provided to the host when the reservation was made. No other notification was delivered and sure enough following brunch the server immediately brought out a birthday celebration desert as a surprise that we could all share.
