It's one of those places that makes you feel good about finding. Quaint neighborhood, cozy yet comfortable nicely done restaurant, unique/good food and drinks. They make a great tomato-olive oil spread served with the bread. Ordered a yummy martini... but seemed small for the $$. Variety of beers and wines... the red blend was great! We shared a couple of first courses to try their specialties. Shared a main course of Chicken under a brick with mushroom risotto that was wonderful.

51 Lincoln has a warm, friendly dining room, and Mike is a great server, attentive but not intrusive, and it was treat to have venison on the menu. The food was delivered promptly, and the entrées did not look, or taste as if they were prepared when the line cook(s) had time and waited until we finish our first course. The food and wine list make 51 Lincoln a place we will return to again and again, even if it is a little loud and another six inches between tables is needed.

The restaurant was very accomdating when I upped the number of people to 3, and sat us in what they referred to as their "wine cellar." First impression of this area with 6 tables was it smelled like a grandparents damp basement. It was nice looking, but they had very odd music on...80s/90's pop. The watress was very pleasant, but we didn't see her after our meals were delivered until we were almost done. Our meals were OK, but nothing exceptional. Certainly not worth the high entre costs. Wouldn't go back again.

Salmon marinated in miso/soy was excellent as was the sticky rice. Interesting home made pasta with chicken, curry, and pine nuts - not overly spicy, just delicious. The small complimentary picked asparagus was a nice touch. The Discount Coupon Helped us to visit again.

I met a friend at 51 Lincoln. Parking not easy, so leave a bit of time. Food was excellent. I had the fish taco and a lovely salad for dinner. Disappointing that they did not have the Stag's Leap Chard by the glass, but the one I ended up with was fine The service was great - no complaints at all, attentive but not intrusive. I will go again.

We go to 51 Lincoln only occasionally. We visited the other night for the duck breast, which was fantastic. But on a whim, I decided to get the brick chicken. The chicken was wonderfully moist, yet with crispy skin. And the hearty mushroom risotto was to die for. I think 51 Lincoln is our new "go-to" restaurant!

51 Lincoln is small and "cozy" with tables close to each other, but surprising the noise level is manageable to have a conversation. The menu and the wine lists are short with choices, but with something for everyone. The calamari and the crispy fish taco were very good and full of flavor. The pan seared watermelon steak with egg plant appetizer is worth the adventure. We each shared the small portion of the Cuban style braised port w/spaghetti and the chef's Bolognese. Both were outstanding. The Bolognese was the best I ever had and my wife loved the tender pork and spice of her dish. The only disappointment was the caramelized flan that tasted like butter, very odd and not good. The service was timely and welcoming.

51 Lincoln is one of those restaurants that immediately make you feel welcome as you walk in. The staff seem to be in sync with each other so that everyone is friendly and helpful. The ambience has a romantic feel, however the lighting does seem to be a little too low for my older eyes. The menu is limited which in some ways is more helpful for choices. I have eaten several times in this restaurant and have never been disappointed with the food. The chef makes an outstanding bolognese. I would bring my Italian relatives here anytime! I would also highly recommend this restaurant for special events.

My wife and I went here to celebrate a birthday recently and had a fantastic time. 51 Lincoln is quiet and romantic, but also has a nice bar at its entrance. Try the calamari appetizer and the duck. The bolognese was some of the best I have ever tasted, even the next day for lunch.

We've dined here a handful of times, and we always forget what terrible service they offer. The two stars given is an average of the three star food and one star service. It's difficult to get the attention of a server. There also is a bizarrely long lag between removal of appetizer plates and the entrees, and each time we have been there it has been laborious to get our check delivered. The last time we went, we asked to have (a significant amount of) our meal wrapped, and it was never delivered. Main entrees are mediocre, but the cheese and charcuterie is generally good. For the mains, the ~$37 sirloin has twice been subpar (different descriptions, same disappointment) -- meat is not very tender and sauces are overly sweet. Won't return.

The food here is heavenly. I was there with a group of six and not one of us was displeased. Their chicken under a brick was absolutely as described--cooked under a brick to ensure the chicken was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. A few of us ordered that. Another ordered the salmon, which I tasted. It was perhaps the most flavorful and delicately textured salmon I've eaten. Another one of us had the duck. He is a duck connoisseur and a tough critic. He loved it. Their wine list is a tremendously thoughtful list--shows great taste and knowledge of wine. The place deserves five stars, but we were seated near the kitchen and the wait-stand and I was facing the bar, with TV shining, which marred the ambiance for us just a bit.

First time to 51 Lincoln and they certainly didn't disappoint. We had 8:45pm reservation on a Saturday and arrived early but couldn't be seated so decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. We knew we were in pretty good hands when we saw the restaurant was humming and the neighboring restaurants were pretty empty. Minimal menu focusing on what's fresh and in season. From the warm corn bread and focaccia served with sweet tomato chutney/relish, to tender lightly battered calamari with chipotle aioli and then shrimp with light as feather ribbons of pasta and crispy flatten chicken with corn risotto and wild mushrooms with demi glace. Portions were just perfect and absolutely delicious.

    OmnivoreVIP
    Dined on 8/30/2014
As the menu tells you, much of the produce is grown on the roof. It can't get any more local or fresher than that, so the summer salad with truffle was great. The watermelon steak is wildly inventive, and I'm glad I ordered it. The wine was as the sommelier described it, and reasonably priced. But my chicken and my wife's salmon were drenched in salt--I felt the crunch of the crystals as I ate, and my wife was unable to finish her dinner due to its salinity. Our server seemed to have trouble finding the right rhythm in a room that wasn't that crowded, although others tried to pick up the slack.

Arrived at time of reservation to empty restaurant. First seated directly under blowing AC vent which we turned down. Then offered only other table practically in the kitchen. Load, moderately disgusting and just a plain awful experience. Too bad because the food is OK but not good enough to spend the evening watching the kitchen slaves scraping plates. Kitchen looked pretty dirty from my view. Wine list expensive. We might be back but if those two tables are offered again, I think I will opt for pizza. We watched group after group reject the same awful tables but most of them ended up with OK seats. We should have argued more I suppose but maybe the restaurant should fix the problem tables.

51 Lincoln is a favorite. We had dinner there on August 23. The food was well prpepared and the service staff was efficient. One complqint though. I ordered the Atlantic Swordfish. As good as it was I have never seen swordfish so thin. The size could noy have been more than 3/8th of an inch thick. Being one of the most expensive items on the menu I think the cut should have been more generous.

We've had some very good meals at 51 Lincoln in the past, but their concept changes regularly and this last iteration of the restaurant is overpriced for what it is. There is one bottle of red wine on the menu under $40 and very few under $60. The main course was good, but I don't think it was worth the $35. Not sure we'd go back, but the restaurant's concept seems to change regularly, so we'll wait a few months and see what happens. Too bad.

I ordered the rib-eye steak and, while it was deliciously spiced, it was virtually inedible. The majority of the cut was filled with fat and gristle. Most of it could not be eaten. We mentioned it to our server who discussed it with the chef. The response was that ribeye is a fatty cut of meat. No attempt to look at the problem much less to replace or offer a credit was made. My husband and I did not bring it home for our dog because we were concerned it might choke him. This restaurant did not stand by be quality of its food!
