Diner Reviews
  • "Every item we ate was delicious! I would definitely go back."

  • " 9 :00 reservations , we order 4 different small plates from menu & wine. They brought us a different bottle of wine than the one we ordered. Waitress, did not think we would notice , but we did. I asked and got a reply of "Oh we ran out of the other one " The food was not impressive, the place was empty except one other table of girls who were leaving and they closed the doors at 10 , they turned away a group of 4... that's early for NYC ): "

  • "Perfect for sharing... great lunch! The salads were light and refreshing."

  • "Ok, so we were here on a very quiet Sunday night, but that didn't take away from the awesome ambience and even more amazing food. Good beer selection (husband and I love our craft brews) and chill atmosphere made for a great evening with friends. Food is a little on the pricey side, but not horrible for New York in general. Loved the neighborhood and would definitely return."

  • "I took a group of 10. The small plates were very interesting and delicious! I would definitely go back again and take a group......without hesitation. I also never write reviews, so they got me. Flat bread pizza and duck nachos.....excellent!"

  • "Really liked 508. Ambiance was very comfortable and great for dinner to catch up with the boys or a weekday dinner with the lady! Great lighting and so much detail put into the bar and overall space.. Thursday night Jazz was awesome and such a plus because we didn't know it was coming! Great variety to choose from and out server literally checking on us like every 4-5 minutes! Very attentive ! "

  • "The menu items here are really good. Very creative and tasty. Tried the duck nachos, devil'd eggs & bulgogi sliders as apps. All were excellent! For an entree we shared the truffled mushroom pappardelle. Delicious. Just enough food not to be over stuffed! They also brew their own beer which was cool. We tried the blonde and the wheat beer, both were good. Our server was attentive and offered great suggestions! "

  • "This place is adorable; service is attentive, but never turning. Food comes out quickly and is nice. The selection has a lot of options. It is not really crowded around dinner time but picks up a bit around 10pm, Beers are great and the bartender is smart. I recommend the duck nachos as well as the truffle mushroom pasta."

  • "We had a fabulous dinner with our children. I had the slow cooked spare ribs. They were crispy on the outside, meat falling off the bone with a sweet tangy BBQ. I would recommend this restaurant."

  • "... this would be its gem. 508 (greenwich street) is perfect for those of us working in this not quite west village, not soho, not quite tribeca hood. Go. Surprised that even with a front staff of one, the service was great and the lobster bisque and salmon sealed the deal. Co-diners liked the brew selections and said to try the coffee and donut stout."

  • "My friends and I were in town for an afternoon and wanted a really good lunch (we are foodies) near all the shopping in SOHO. We found this place by chance and it was amazing. Great food, delicious appetizers and awesome beer list. The waitress was helpful and friendly. We all really enjoyed the food and the wine/beer. I would definitely eat here again and again!"

  • "Sadly I went alone on Christmas Eve, so there wasn't a lot of activity. But the place is great to go for eat or to have a drink with friends They have a good beer selection and the food was very good."

  • "The staff was great and the food was just right. They had a wonderful Pre-Fixe dinner for Christmas Eve that didnt hurt my wallet. Will deff be coming back."

  • "Visited on the Friday of the Thanksgiving. We had reservations and they called to confirm them so I was a bit concerned when we arrived at 7:30 and were the only ones there - just a quiet night or were we missing something when we read the reviews? We tried a variety of items - duck nachos were excellent as were the brisket sliders. Others enjoyed the branzino and ribs. We would go back."

  • "Beers and food were excellent. All members of my group were happy, and the menu had something for everyone. Some of the best beers I had all year."

  • "My guests and I were having a perfectly lovely time in this nearly empty restaurant, ordering rounds of drinks and appetizers and I thought everything was going great until the waiter suddenly decided he'd had enough and refused to take another order for appetizer without also ordering our entrees. Sorry but the place just wasn't that special (or crowded) to be schooling its patrons with snark on what to order and how quickly. There were empty tables when we arrived and empty tables when we left, and I know why."

  • "food, beer and service were great. had a large group 8+. they put us in the wine cellar. problem was getting to the wine cellar you had to walk through the kitchen, down treacherous stairs, into the basement where it is very warm and slightly cramped; cramped to the extent that at least 4 bottles were broken because guests and servers could not manage the space well. strangest place i have ever had to eat. if it weren't for the group i was with, i don't think i would have been very happy. our server Lauren was great though. she was extremely attentive and made being in the basement not so bad."

  • "Nothing pretentious here, but interesting brewery menu, with a little something for everyone on the food side too. Service was great for our small group - will definitely return. Sits in lower west corner of SoHo just above Canal so easy walk from TriBeCa."

  • "Brought some friends that are beer snobs, and it passed the test. The waitstaff was friendly."

  • "Overall, a memorable night out with good food, service and atmosphere. Slider and tartar starters were fantastic. We had a large group with diverse tastes and all were very satisfied. Jazz band and open air to street side were perfect touches."

  • "We just ordered appetizers and really enjoyed all of them. The octopus and the sliders were excellent. I didn't try the tongue, but my friends said it was delicious. They definitely had a very unique menu. We will definitely go back to try the entrees. Also, our waiter was very attentive which alway helps."

  • "We were hoping the food would live up to how great it sounded on the menu and it did. Cute little place, good size bar and tables not too close together. They also have a big high table towards the back for a larger party. Service was a little slow to start but that may have been because the waitstaff figured we were waiting for our third to join us which we were. Cocktails were good but they are best known for their beers which were very interesting! OK, the food... we had the lobster sliders, the Double Diablo w/ the fried oyster, the edamame pesto crostini to start and all were excellent, especially the first two. For dinner, we shared the roasted duck tagliatelle, the bulgogi sliders and duck tacos. All awesome! Highly recommend!"

  • "There were a lot of great dinner options and everything we ordered was great! Good cocktails too."

  • "Everything that was brought to our table was fantastic (including the fried oyster appetizer, beef sliders, and especially the scallop ceviche which was one of the best ceviches I've ever had). My favorite dish was the Roasted Duck with pine nuts, spinach, brussel sprouts, pancetta and olive oil tossed in spinach and egg fettuccini (as quoted from the menu...tasted as good as it sounds!). Our waitress (Monika I think?) was great and gave us good recommendations. I also had a really good strawberry/honey beer that is brewed there. We were sitting at the hightop table in the back near the kitchen. The curtain to the kitchen was kept open and it was good to see that they had a very nice clean kitchen with nothing to hide."

  • "We had a great birthday dinner with 6 friends at 508. The vibe was cool, fun and the food was absolutely fantastic. My husband got their beer sampler and loved all the homebrews as well. Waitstaff is attractive and attentive. We made a reservation for this weekend to go back because there are so many items on the menu that you just have to try."

  • "Nice restaurant, but too noisy. We could barely hear each other across the table."
    Dined on 5/31/2013
  • "I've been here a few times. I like the beer options, I think they brew their own. I think the food is also good, but the portions are really too small. Servers were friendly but not overly attentive."

  • "We went for an early pre-theater dinner. Bruschetta appetizer and beet salad were very good. We each had homemade pastas that were excellent and nicely sized, not overdone. The warm brownie dessert was just so-so, but the cappuccino was delicious. Would probably have dessert elsewhere but otherwise food ingredients were well-chosen and matched together nicely. They feature their own house-brewed beer which is a unique touch -- the wines by the glass were fine but limited, clearly a focus on their beers. Our server was knowledgeable and since it was early the restaurant was fairly quiet."

  • "The space was very chic, but comfortable and the food was delicious. My friends enjoyed the beers."

  • "Haven't been there in awhile and was very disappointed. Service was terrible- server was pleasant enough but really couldn't be bothered to do anything more than the bare minimum. We ordered simple dishes and it took forever to get our food-- and it wasn't busy in there at all. And the food was not worth the wait. Very average in general. I have had the dish I had before and it was not as good as before, though teh salmon was cooked very nicely. We might have ordered coffee and dessert (extra $$ for the restaurant) but a) because the food took so long to arrive we ran out of time and b) the uninterested server never bothered to ask if we'd like anything else! Won't be going back."

  • "Just okay. Nothing was great; not the apps, pastas, or dessert. Disappointing."

  • "Feels like a high end pop-up restaurant. Shorter menu but a little bit of everything. We had tune tartar, crabcake, cheese and meat plate and oysters! Delicious oysters. $1 each if you seat at the bar! Can't beat that. For dessert we had a lemon merengue and it was nothing shirt of divine. Staff was very attentif and cordial, all in all we had a wonderful evening and left very happy."

  • "We had a celebratory lunch and ate across the menu - seafood items and then salads with protein. It was worrh the walk across the tunnel traffic"

  • "Excellent meal was had by all of our group . Especially enjoyed the beer selection . Would certainly return and recommend ."
