50 Ocean at Boston's On The BeachImpressed First-TimerHave never dined upstairs before and was unexpectedly pleased with ambiance and level of service at 50 Ocean. I had a blackened grouper sandwich which was delicious (and I have eaten a lot of fish sandwiches through the years). My fellow diners enjoyed their lobster bisque and lunch items as well. Food was fresh and tasty. My only complaint is that the restaurant was cold even though they happily adjusted the thermostat at our request. I will definitely return with friends or for a romantic dinner with my husband.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experienceThe restaurant is comfortable, the wait staff is attentive. We were there on a very rainy day, the ocean view was still beautiful. The food is delicious, it was a wonderful experience.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Stop for BrunchI've been meaning to check out 50 Ocean for awhile now and finally made it in this past weekend. We went in for brunch & they had a small but varied menu. At 11. you can also order off the lunch menu. The view -- overlooking the ocean -- is amazing & a great selling point and food was solid. Valet parking is available in the back, a nice addition.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMlovely eveningWe were there with family from out of town. Cindy was an accommodating waitress, funny and warm. The food and drinks were delicious, and we had a lovely evening.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAmbience, great food, lively sceneHad a wonderful experience at 50 ocean. Would highly recommend it and our server was very knowledgeable. Food presentation was wonderful.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMPresentation of food unique...Taste of food not up to par for price. Service was EXCELLENT and the new renovation and view SPECTACULAR!
Maybe hit a bad night but pricey food should be as good as it looked and it was not unfortunately.
Will return and try a different dish!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMlovely viewAsked for and received a table overlooking the ocean in a quiet area of the restaurant. Met all expectations. It is pricey and I would only go for dinner for a special occasion. The bar happy hour is the ticket - great value.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent, serviceFood was excellent, service was excellent and very accommodating, beautiful view, private glass room if you want. ambience excellent. One of our favorite restaurants.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a viewDining with a 180 panoramic view of beach and ocean on a clear night was spectacular! Our waitress was extremely accomadating and food quite delicious.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat view from the upperGreat view from the upper deck to the beach. Noisy music from restaurant next door but still opted to eat outside for the view.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed this restaurant immensely.Enjoyed this restaurant immensely. Great view of the Atlantic Ocean, right off Atlantic Ave in Delray. Drinks were terrific, appetizers were fabulous, especially the Short Rib sliders. Our seafooid dinners were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Decor was very Key West, beautifully decorated.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReally beautiful place. VeryReally beautiful place. Very nice service and attentive Mgr/Owner5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe music from the restaurantThe music from the restaurant next door was deafening but the view of the ocean made up for it.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat view and food50 Oceans always provides excellent service along with the food. The views of the beach are great!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMQuite possibly the best viewQuite possibly the best view from a restaurant in Delray Beach!
Very friendly, professional staff - no 'server attitudes.' Inside or outside dining available. Casual dining, yet with a menu that offers something for everyone (& becomes slightly less casual in the evenings). Good, local bar crowd (nice bar) & for locals they have recently launched a "frequent flier" program.
Great spot for business lunches & they have a room for private parties.
Valet parking available (added bonus).5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMone of south florida's finest!this was our first time at 50 ocean. it was great. the food was absolutely terrific. service was perfect. a charming and friendly restaurant. will certainly go back often.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is only the second timeThis is only the second time we've been to 50 Ocean, but we certainly will go again soon. Escellent service and food. Presentation was outstanding!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Spot not to miss.Wonderful spot for dining anytime. Great view; good food and service. They did a great job with the make over. The bar is amazing.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMCrab&Loberster app was fabulous,Crab&Loberster app was fabulous, tons of each in every bite.Seared Tuna Entree was a hit, however the Skirt Steak fell flat, rubbery.Banans Foster dessert delightful. Dont get seated in the wine room like we did, couldn't enjoy the view at all, felt closed off from everything and everyone. Service was good.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Lobstah roll EVAH!Three out of four ordered the Lobster roll which was well worth the price. No shredded lobster but huge chunks and mire then enough so that if you didn't eat the roll you were plenty full. Best lobster roll we have ever had and we are from New England so we know lobster rolls. One had the Ahi tuna salad which was excellent.
Sat on the open patio on a perfect day and had the perfect view. This is our favorite place when we are in this area. Never here during the evening hours but the bar area looks romantic and trendy.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant dining.....I normally refrain from responding to surveys however, this is one of my favorite restaurants. The location is good, the view is spectuacular, the decor outstanding. I usually bring my out of town guests to 50 Ocean. Its sophisticated but not too over the top. The menu and wine list are excellent, while offering a good variety. And the price range isn't too high and it isn't too low. Again a good offering. When there is a cutback on the quality of the food or wine the restaurant looses it ambiance and I avoid it. There were only a couple of things that bothered me. It was a bit noisy and our waiter was trying "TOO HARD" to attend to us... to me that demonstrates a lack of professionalism, at least for me.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe view of Delray Beach andThe view of Delray Beach and the Atlantic Ocean is spectacular!!! The service is very professional! The food is fresh and presented beautifully. A great wine list!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMReally nice looking restaurant/fabuReally nice looking restaurant/fabulous bar and lounge area. Good, attentive, friendly service. My duck dumpling appetizer was outstanding but my potato crusted grouper was just okay. My companions enjoyed their food. Outside dining was lovely looking out over the ocean. One of the few places you can see the ocean when dining because it's on the second floor. I believe it has a good wine list. I would go again definitely but not order that entree.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat views, great food!Went for a birthday dinner while on vacation. Staff was attentive, food was great.Skirt steak was fabulous as were our companions entrees.
Perfect spot to dine outside( or in)overlooking Atlantic Ocean. Overlooks the energetic Sand Bar below which is fun for people watching.
Great overall vacation dining experience.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Good FoodI love this spot. Ask for a table next to the window to have a view of the ocean. The food is good but be prepared to wait a while. It usually takes a long time. Started with steak tartar which was nice, even better on their delicious bread. My short ribs were spot on and the delicious beignets were a must have every time we come!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat service, fine happy hour, goodgreat service, fine happy hour, good drinks, and bar bites. Food was good.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMtry for any occasion.Great location, good selection of wines but pricey, food prepared as you like it, and wonderful nightly views. We go often.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our dinner veryWe enjoyed our dinner very much. However service was uneven though pleasant. Quite a long wait between appetizer and entrees. Also took too long to get the check as well.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I live in PalmMy wife and I live in Palm Beach but I never turn down the opportunity to drive to Delray to eat at 50 Ocean. My last meal was a quick lunch with client, but it was the best grouper sandwich I have had all winter. Blackened with carmelized onions, yellow tomatoes on that very nice and light hawaiian bread, it was delicious.
This is the kind of place that you go to without ever worrying about the food. Good service, great view, good food. I think it is a real winner.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMvery goodGreat spot for entertaining out of town business partners, family or friends. Food has always been outstanding. Good selection of wines and reasonably priced. Service has been curteous and timely.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite aspect of 50 OceanMy favorite aspect of 50 Ocean is the decor and the view. The floor to ceiling windows allow clear views of the Atlantic Ocean. The decor is very well done. kind of "zen" like, very soothing. The food presentation is A+. I enjoyed a salad that was served as a cylinder wrapped in thinnly sliced cucumber (similar to a gift). Awesome presentation; i chose the chicken topper (i was surprised that it was the same price at fish; and it was served with the skin on; and with a bone). I'm so used to boneless skinless chicken that it was a surprise, but very tasty. The shrimp appetizer & fresh baked breads were great also. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. 50 Ocean is a great special occasion restaurant.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was grand. We had a tableIt was grand. We had a table right by the floor to ceiling window overlooking the ocean. The service was well above average and the food just fine. The cappuccino was lovely, served in a tall, slim glass and metal mug..3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely a special placeDefinitely a special place for a special meal...loved it!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrace seating provides spectaculaTerrace seating provides spectacular ocean views. The food was wonderful and the servers could not have been more accommodating to our every wish. The grouper sandwich was definitely made with fresh fish and the accompanying arugula salad was the perfect side.
The chicken sandwich with tomato jam was also a hit.
Our table was ready for us and we were seated immediately. Can't ask for more.
Valet parking behind the restaurant is a necessity.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI already noted it on TripI already noted it on Trip Advisor as being a good place to be. Lunch was lovely and the view great. I think for the casualness, that it is not the place that I would necessarily try for most relaxing dinner and the price is a little high. But for lunch it was great.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful evening. FoodHad a wonderful evening. Food was excellent; view of the moonrise over the ocean spectacular. We'll be back1/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe renovation is beautifulThe renovation is beautiful - elegant, but still casual and comfortable -- and you just can't beat the view. Lobster salad was full of nice lobster chunks (not too much mayo) and the fries are the best on the planet.1/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat location, ambiance, and foodMy family was excited to discover this more upscale restuarant right along the oceanfront in Delray Beach. Not only did we love the location, but we were also impressed by the food and the ambiance inside the restaurant. Almost everyone at the table started with the Classic Ceasar Salad, which was slightly above average - although there were no anchovies. Two of my dining companions had the Ginger Braised Short Ribs. The dish looked delicious and obviously was as there was nothing leftover to try. I had the Potato Crusted Grouper, which was huge and flavorful. Dessert took a little long to come out, but was tasty. Only complaint is that this restaurant gets very loud. Hope to return next time I'm in Delray.12/30/2012 12:00:00 AMThe kitchen is very talented. The kitchen is very talented. Each of our courses was very good, including an unusual chicken soup preparation (appetizer). Service was also professional.11/29/2012 12:00:00 AM
