  • "Much to like, specially the gluten-free offerings. Found some gluten-free donuts there, best ever."

  • "LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!! Great food and great wait staff! Super good brunches on Sunday mornings, too!"

  • "This is a wonderful place to get some brunch. Great bloody mary (and virgin mary, too. Blood orange Mimosa, good selection of tasty egg dishes and the usual other ones, too. Quiet enough to talk to each other!"

  • "Our family has wheat allergies, so we have to be picky about where we go. The great thing about 50 North is that they're consistently good and willing to work with you. We go regularly for the great burgers and fish-n-chips. The chowder is awesome and the wine menu a number of go-to favorites. You can't go wrong!"

  • "We have never had trouble getting in and we always wonder why. The food and service have been fantastic every time we have been. Don't quite understand why they aren't always packed."

  • "Food was average. I just had a clam chowder, which was average. The wine list was short, but my wine was good. Service was dreadfully slow."

  • "Thursday nights should be crowded in restaurants but 50 North was pretty empty. Don't know why. Maybe too much competition or the location. Hope it makes it because the food is decent and it's comfortable. Some restaurants are so hard to talk in but not this one. Fish tacos were a bit messy, maybe a bigger tortilla. Good variety of food and beer."

  • "I always enjoy the quality of ingredients and the variety of food offered. It seems that all the greens and vegetables are extra fresh and vibrant! The chicken added to the arugula/beet salad was perfectly grilled."

  • "Nice and quiet, not very busy at 10 a.m. on a Sunday. Got busier as we stayed. Food was good, potatoes were a bit undercooked. Service was very friendly and helpful. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. Nice pleasant place to meet for brunch, close to university so handy for students to meet their parents."

  • "We went to 50N for Valentines Day, they had a fixed menus which was different but fun. There was great live music and the food was AMAZING. My husband had the steak, it was so tender and great flavor. I had the Cod and it too was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The service was excellent and very friendly. Perfect evening!"

  • "I had a business dinner, the service was excellent and as requested we were seated where we could talk. Liked the grub and the draft selection. Definitely a restaurant I would consider in the future."

  • "Their specialty 50 north burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had. The apple pie a la mode was also delicious, it tasted home made."

  • "The food was very good, but call me a sensitive first-timer celebrating a 50-something birthday, but the waiter mentioned that the restaurant for some reason attracted an older clientele, and they played 70s pop Muzak all evening. I don't mind my age or a visit thru the way-back machine once in a while, but I look forward and like fresh music and experiences. Will go again as the food was refreshing and healthy, or to simply see if the soundtrack has changed!"

  • "Poor experience all around. Service was not good - after being ignored for 30 minutes, we had to flag down a busser to order more drinks. Food was bland, except the spicy chicken sandwich which was overseasoned. Live singing performer was talented, but volume was way too loud."

  • "I had been to 50 North before and thought I would bring my family for brunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. The overall experience was fine but afterwards, my wife and kids showed no interest in coming back. When we arrived, there were few folks in the restaurant, yet it took a while before our server came to our table to take drink orders. The food arrived but took a little long. My daughter commented that the table next to us arrived after we did but were served before us. The food was good - not great. My son commented: "Well, I guess it's quality over quantity." His monte cristo sandwich we beautifully presented but quite small and underwhelming. It was good (I ordered it too) but not memorable."

  • "Four of us met for dinner. Seated quickly - choice of booths. We enjoyed everything we ordered. I especially liked the very fresh green salad with a lemon vinaigrette. Our server, in particular, made the evening totally enjoyable. She was warm, efficient, attentive, accommodating - friendly without being overly so. She checked on us periodically without hovering. All in all, a great evening. The bonus was the live music - guitarist/singer, who was quite good."

  • "I have been to 50 North several times and I have taken friends and family (adults). I have always had good food and good service. A friend and I have made it part of the "going to get our toes done" ritual. The only down side is noise level -but I am older so I have difficulty hearing in noisy places. :))"

  • "Presentation, fantastic. Quality of food, not so much. I am very particular and very sensitive and feel the options for vegan or gluten free are lacking. The restaurant didn't substitute very well, they simply take it off the plate, leaving the dish dry and dull. Not a restaurant who truly knows how to be vegan and gluten free. The rest of or party loved the burgers. Fries were lacking, chips were greasy. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is not vegetarian, vegan or gluten free."

  • "As I was perusing the menu looking for a "healthy option", while of course really wanting the buttermilk friend chicken with mashed potatoes, and veg, i came across the buttermilk chicken salad. Perfect and brilliant. i got to eat the salad i felt I should, but with the fabulous fried chicken on top. It was delicious, and I didn't feel a bit guilty…..well until i had the salted caramel brownie which was amazing. Half price wine on wednesday as well, made for a delightful and inexpensive meal with a girlfriend after work."

  • "50 North is a fantastic place to dine if you are living gluten free. The options are not compromises, you can even order a gluten free chowder. The service is always great and the booths are super comfy. I have eaten here for lunch several times with kids and girlfriends and for a family dinner. Each time has been terrific."

  • "We read the great reviews, but were completely disappointed. While the service was great, the food lacked flavor. The chicken Marsala and pasta dishes were bland, tasteless really. The best meal we ordered was my daughter's cheeseburger. We frequently go out to dinner and are always looking for new restaurants. We won't be back to 50 North unless we are all in the mood for a hamburger."

  • "This time we ordered the fried chicken dinner, the eggplant fries, kids meal, and the tangine. The eggplant fries are always amazing and my husband loved the fried chicken dinner. The tangine however was not great this time. I have had it before and it was good, but this time it tasted sour. I debated on letting the restaurant know and finally I said something. They were so amazing with their service after this. They offered to make me something new, but at this point it was late in our dinner and I said no. THey offered a free dessert and so we finally said yes. We got the banana creme pie and OMG it was phenomenal. I mean the best ever. Go there for just dessert and you wont be disappointed."

  • "Eat anything here and you will be happy. The hardest part is choosing what to eat. I say this over and over, but the eggplants fries are amazing. I go here mainly for that, but everything else makes my mouth happy too. I eat here almost once a week lately. It's that good."

  • "A long time friend from out of town and I needed a nice, quiet place for lunch in the University District. I selected 50 North, which is across from University Village... easy to get to... FREE parking in attached garage with elevator. Service was outstanding; attentive but not obtrusive. Limited menu with delicious preparations. This is a fine place to meet friends or clients for social and/or business meetings. Ask for a booth if a bit more privacy is desired. I will return there in the months to come with other friends. Reservations are a must if you plan to visit during a busy time, like prior to a Husky game."

  • "My book club likes has dined here several times and has never been disappointed. The buttermilk fried chicken is definitely a must-have and, personally, I love the white sangria. All desserts are fabulous, especially the banana cream pie with the surprise layer of fudge. While the noise level can be energetic, I find that the booths help dissipate the noise so it was at a very acceptable level. It's a little noisier if you are seated at the tables, but nothing that would keep me from returning."

  • "I love this place and I go often. Probably 5 times this past month. The service this night was horrible. We were ignored. We had to ask for everything more than once. We were ready for our check and our server never came by for 10 minutes. I had to ask another server to find her. I think the issue was that most of her tables were in another section and she just didnt walk by us frequently, but that doesnt mean we should be ignored all night. If I didnt love the food, I wouldnt come back after this, but since the food is wonderful and this service is not the norm, I will come back. Highly recommend the spicy chicken sandwich and eggplant fries. Amazing. Honestly everything I try here is good."

  • "I could come here and just eat the eggplant fries and be happy. THey are the best. I also ordered the fish and chips and they were good, but nothing spectacular. Their gluten free brownie is wonderful too. Love this place"

  • "Hello. Love that this restaurant has some gluten free options, especially fried fish. Since you can fry fish, gluten free, how about adding fried oysters with the same gluten-free batter. The beet salad was great and was going to have some of it from my friend in exchange for some fish, but throwing the GLUTEN-FULL wheat berries on top eliminated that option AND didn't add much to the salad. How about the same salad with some gluten-free crunchie on top instead, or nothing on top."
